This warm and charming house, a true Sonoma craftman's style built in 1891, sits on almost half an acre of land, totally enclosed to give you privacy and let you forget about the world. A nearby walking trail leads to Sonoma Plaza.
The main bedroom features a plush California king sized bed. The second and third bedrooms each have a pillow-top queen bed. Views of the Sonoma hillside are available from all bedrooms.
Relax and unwind in the lounge chairs just outside the covered back porch. To the right is a hot tub for four with an outdoor shower station, and to the left is an eating area for six with a three burner BBQ. Take a siesta after a nice meal, lie down and swing gently on the hammock for two.
The garden offers delights seasonally through year with 30 fruit trees and shrubs (peach, apple, pear, tangerine, pommelo, orange, grapefruit). Among the grove of the trees, settle back in a rocking chair, or relax on the comfortable sectional sofa under a gazebo.
Game Room: A recreation room has been added recently, with an 8' pool table, a 55' TV connected to HD cable box and Blue Ray DVD player, and a lounge/ bar area.
Wireless Connectivity: There is wireless connectivity throughout the property, so you can go to the internet with your laptop from the gazebo, the cabana, the porches, the game room or the al fresco dining area.
Orchard in A Garden Setting: There are different fruit and berries for different seasons. In spring time, there are 2 different kinds of cherries and strawberries. In summer there is an abundance of plums, followed by apricots, then yellow and white nectarines, ending with peaches. Blackberries, gold and red raspberries, along with 7 different kinds of table grapes are common in late summer. A couple varieties of apples, pears, and figs herald the arrival of fall, with chocolate and coffee cake persimmons and pomegranates ending the season. Winter is celebrated with Cara Cara oranges, limes, pommelo, grapefruit, tangerines and citron. When the all the citrus trees bloom in late winter, the whole property is perfumed with the most refreshing, soft and sweet smell. A new 3-1 pluot tree has just been planted in 2009, along with a sweet kiwi vine. Please note that due to different weather conditions, fruit yield and harvest time may vary from year to year.

The Best Vacation Home Ever!
We spent an amazing week at Amadora with our adult children; it was truly the most welcoming and well-appointed home we have ever rented. The house is beautifully furnished with plenty of space for relaxing or entertaining. The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped, and a very nice gas grill and outdoor dining area makes evening meals 'al fresco' a special treat. The game room in a separate building on the property has a pool table, two sofas, and a wide-screen TV. We were lucky enough to have some friends visit us while we were at Amadora, and entertaining them was as easy and as comfortable as if we were in our own home. Joe (the owner) provided us with a literal book full of information on extra amenities, restaurants, wineries, and activities, and he even has arranged some special discounts at some activities for guests of Amadora. But by far the best feature of this wonderful home is its gardens - the entire property is covered with fruit trees, herbs, and flowers of every variety. We feasted all week on fresh figs, peaches, raspberries, and tomatoes from the garden. What a wonderful bonus! We will certainly return to Amadora next year.
Perfect weekend getaway! Great outdoor space!
We have been to wine country before and decided to make a return visit. This time we stayed at Amadora House. It was immaculate, full of amenities, and everything was right there for us to use. The kitchen was well stocked with all sorts of stemware, matching dinnerware, and all types of cooking equipment. The beds were very comfortable and we slept well. In fact, we overslept, so we started the day late and we were almost late for our wine tour. The owner, Joe, provided so much information about the area, including a discount offer for a gorgeous winery. The tour included wine tasting in the cave. What a delightful experience. The greatest feature of the property was the garden. We were surprised at how large the space was. There was a seating area in front of the house, then there was the gazebo where we shared a well-chilled bottle of chardonnay, a seating area around the hot tub, and an outdoor dining area at the back with BBQ grill. The entire garden was a beautiful floral landscape. We saw a pair of blue jays chasing one another. The location of the property is convenient for dinner in town or visiting wineries. The house was one of the best we have rented. We wished we could stay longer. Love, love, love.
Home is pleasant
The beds and bedding were all very comfortable. Living room nice space to hang out. Dining room nice for 8 people. Kitchen has what you need but could not find any coffee filters til last day because it was located down the hall by the bedroom in the back of the house. My big problems were the bathrooms. Yes there are 2 but nowhere states it's outside in the garage which is now a very pretty rec room. My brother had to walk out to take a shower and it was 30 degrees. So this was an issue.
Beautiful property and amazing, helpful recommendations from our hosts. We loved it and hope to return!
Great house and location for a weekend!
6 of us stayed here for three nights and had a great time. Very close to downtown Sonoma, grocery stores, and a number of wineries. The host provided a bunch of great tips beforehand and was easy to get in touch with.
The house was well maintained and stocked with enough basics (salt, pepper, etc) to make cooking easy and the full kitchen was great.
I would recommend and return to this property.
