Pleasant and quiet apartment, about 25 square meters, entirely renovated, located in a charming and small building (XVIIth Century),with a nice courtyard. The apartment is overlooking a quiet picturesque little street, a few meters from rue Mouffetard (the Market just up the street !). Great area. Metro Censier-Daubenton. From CDG airport, direct access by RER to the apartment. Host 2 or 4 persons.
Sunny and calm apartment. Queen bed, a sofa bed for two persons is also available. TV, Radio, Cable, Internet high speed, WiFi, Phone, free calls to most of countries.
I was initially apprehensive after realizing that the map shown on VRBO wasn't accurate, however it turned out to be a lovely area to get to know. Rue Mouffetard was a great street to be near; the markets and fresh vegetables, fruits, sausage, cheese, bread, ice cream, etc were just lovely, and provided several delicious picnics. My family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teenagers) stayed 4 nights in July; it was warm, and the street can be noisy, and a fan would have been nice, but it worked out very well for us. The stairs are a trek, but we thought it added to the charm. It's also close enough to the metro to make everything pretty convenient, though the walk to the Seine through the Jardin Des Plantes is lovely as well. We'd happily go back.
This flat is not in the place it appears on the map! If you plan to visit museums etc on foot choose a different place. It is near a small square St. Medare and is a 30 minute walk from the Seine. One climbs 65 worn wooden spiral steps, slippery and very narrow, to reach the door, making the courtyard not worth using even if it had any seating. The flat is one room with a kitchen made out of the entry way. The kitchen had minimal kitchenware--small undefrosted fridge and a few utensils. No way to cook a real meal. On our arrival the floor was soaking wet. The towels were tiny and very old and stained, as was the one dishrag. There is one bed but the other, a convertible sofa, is impossible to sleep on with metal frame poking through thin foam. The lady who let us in didn't introduce herself but seemed very nervous and we had to pay our balance in cash ( deposit was by PayPal). The street has a very noisy nightclub but we left the windows open anyway as it was very stuffy otherwise--the fan the owner said was in the cupboard could not be found. There is plaster falling from the bathroom ceiling, and the shower is too small to turn around in. Phillippe took a few days to reply during our stay, then had an excuse for each of our concerns -- and we never met him. Would not recommend unless you can't find anything else.
Thank you so much for the flat. It worked out well and cetainly contributed to a lifetime of wonderful memories!
We got to see and do everything that we had set out to do! Location is in walking distance of a lot. We took an uber to the rest.
I found Phillipe to be fair and honest, and everything was as he said it would be.
Happy with my experience.
My husband and I spent 6 nights. The apartment was clear, very clean and well equipped. The bedding was quite comfortable. It is also well located and in a safe and quiet area. The proximity to the many major sites and gardens is perfect for exploring Paris. The apartment is well served by the public transportation(metro, bus, RER). Nearby the apartment, there is the Mouffetard quarter with so good bakeries, butcher's shops, cheese markers, wine merchants. The area is full of typical french restaurants and cafes. Philippe and Marine were extremely helful with recommandations on where to go, how to get there and where to eat and drink. When we booked we were worried about bedbugs because of the previous reviews. Philippe certified that the problem was solved and he told the truth. There was absolutely no bedbug. We plan to return to Paris this winter and we would definitely stay here again and recommand the apartment to our family and friends.
Though we loved the neighbourhood, the apartment is plagued by bed bugs and requires a professional and thorough treatment. The owner was responsive to our emails. Unfortunately, the pest situation is beyond spot treatment. I am sorry that I can not recommend this unit.
We arrived probably just after the previous reviewer left, but unfortunately did not know that they had discovered bed bugs. I broke out with severe bite marks and did not figure out it was bed bugs until after reading the reviewers comments. We arrived May 22, so obviously the apartment was NOT cleaned of the bugs. It was also quite dirty. The usual comments on this apartment were all true as well. It has over 60 stairs and is not for large families. The Washing Machine leaks. The map is incorrect. I notified the owner it was incorrect after we booked and he sent me the address and I learned it was very different that it appeared in the ad. He has not corrected it which seems deliberately deceiving. I will report this to the web site company. Across the street is a Jewish center, which is cool, except that with the threat of terrorism high in Paris they have a sub-machine gun carrying guard 24/7 in outside of their front door, which is very disconcerting when entering and leaving the apartment. The neighborhood is excellent and the metro is fairly close. The building is old, creaky, and the owners did not clean the bed bugs out and did not warn us. Very unprofessional. I would not recommend this place to others. The owner also required we pay our balance due in cash upon arrival. I recovered from the bed bug bites during out next leg of our journey in Italy.
'Located in the very center of Paris, near famous rue Mouffetard and its Market, connected with metro (Censier-Daubenton)and bus (27, 47, 91), public parking nearby ('parking des Patriarches')
