Enjoy paradise in this darling 'casita' situated on the grounds of one of the most admired private properties in downtown Boquete.
The cozy, comfy and convenient one-room guest cottage sits behind a charming wrought iron gate overlooking a beautiful bubbling stream.
The 'casita' is stocked with mini-fridge, microwave, toaster-oven, electric kettle and coffee maker - the basics for preparing breakfast or a light meal.
The casita is easily accessible- no stairs, walk in shower. It is not wheel chair accessible, however.
Walk to language school, restaurants & cafes, shopping, golf course, eco-touring, transportation! Or just hang out in the hammock, listening to the running stream.
The setting is perfect for a romantic weekend, a week of Spanish language immersion, or a longer visit to explore all of the region.
If you are considering a move to Panama, your hosts would be happy to answer questions and give you some 'insider' tips.
If you wish, you can arrange to take a course in silk painting and polymer clay with Barbara, an artist/teacher.
Mort, owner of Morton's Bakehouse, is a well known artisan baker. You may also wish to take one of Mort's artisan bread baking classes.
We and Maggie, our sweet Labradoodle, look forward to welcoming you as our honored guests.
A brief listing of some local festivals and events:
November - a month of celebrations. Panamanian Independence Day Parades. Local celebrations in Boquete are colorful, fun, with parades of darling school children dressed in beautiful costumes.
December - Christmas and New Years celebrations, parades and displays
January - The International Boquete Flower and Coffee Fair. Music events at night are, regrettably, noisy throughout the entire valley - bring ear plugs! The flowers bloom all season! Generally held the third week in January.
February - World-Class Jazz & Blues on the slopes of Volcan , Feb 25-28, 2016. This is a great event - getting bigger and better each year.
March - Orchid Fair in Boquete - professional and amateur growers vie for gold medals. Generally held end of March, beginning of April at the Fair Grounds.

Without a doubt a spectacular place to stay and see the true Boquete lifestyles. One block from downtown and minutes walking to everything you would want to see in town. Our host Barbara and Mort should be named head ambassadors for this lovely quaint mountain town. The river 10 feet from our front door and their dog "Maggie" were wonderful things to wake up to each morning. Terrific food in town and fabulous hiking and scenery. Out a possible 10 we give them and this beautiful cottage a 11!
This casita was a delightful stay within a block of downtown Boquete. We really enjoyed being able to walk to town and the coziness of the meandering river just steps from our front door. The landscaping was beautiful and we sure enjoyed sipping on some of the best local Boquete coffee every morning on our front porch. Mort and Barbara were fantastic hosts and offered many suggestions to keep us busy! You must stop in to visit Mort at his bakery just down the road. He serves great bakery goodies and excellent Reuben sandwiches a couple times a week. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the city of Boquete was so friendly and beautiful!
We had a wonderful time Barbara was warm and welcoming and a mine of information. The cottage is in the heart of Boquete. You can walk to just about anywhere. Supermarkets. Restaurants. Fabulous value We will be back B and j from Canada
We stayed for four nights before and during the flower festival. Barbara and Mort are excellent hosts who have literally thought of everything necessary for an excellent stay. The casita is very thoughtfully prepared, perfectly located, and secure. Maggie the dog is the cherry on top. Made our way to Mort's bakehouse for a terrific Reuben sandwich and delicious cookies. Highly recommend the sandwich and even more so the stay. Excellent in every way!
Perfect in every way. Beautiful Casita in a private lush garden setting. Barbara and Mort have created a jewel. It is really one of the stays that will be remembered. Attention to detail with a heavenly bed, nice linens, down pillows....very special.
And Maggie the dog is the frosting on the cake.
Thanks to Barbara and Mort for your gracious hospitality.
Barbara, Mort & Maggie...what else would a visitor to Bouquete need than these people (and yes, the 4 legged Maggie is a person!). They provided every bit of information one would ever need in the 3 ring binder in the cottage + answered ALL of our questions with knowledge....& no question was too stupid for them to answer! Mort's bakery Rye bread along with butter & Barbara's homemade papaya/pineapple jam was waiting for our late night arrival...amazing.Make sure to partake in her silk scarf painting class (check ahead of time for the schedule) & drive down to Morton's Bakery to buy bread, sandwiches & goodies from Stacey....she made/decorated the wedding cake that was in the movie 'Mystic Pizza'! The property is secure & gorgeous with fresh banana's, papaya's & beautiful flowers all around. In fact, they made beautiful flower arrangements for our cottage!
