Enjoy your summer in a charming country cottage in quaint South Jamesport, just 3 houses from a white, sandy bay beach. Marina and a fine restaurant in walking area. Nearby vineyards offer their wines for tasting with live music. Outlet shopping and waterpark in nearby Riverhead. Easy access to beautiful Long Island golf courses. A delightful country ride to Greenport, the Hamptons or Montauk Point. Ideal summer vacation area.
We had a wonderful stay. The rooms were clean and perfect for our first visit to the North Fork. The house had all the amenities we needed to feel right at home. A plus was being able to walk down the street to the bay! Barbara was very pleasant to deal with. I'd recommend this place, it's sleeps 4 comfortably. The sofa sleeper works for another person, but not as comfortable as a bed.
Nicely appointed comfortable cottage just a few houses from a beautiful bay beach. Beds are comfy, there's AC for hot days and lots of windows to open when not hot. The bedroom upstairs is especially nice with great cross breezes and a pretty view of the sky — has two single beds. Grounds are very pretty and the owners are really nice. Great touch is a full size washer and dryer in the bathroom which is useful for beach towels, etc. We'd always stayed further out on the North Fork and this location is closer in and also very nice with lots of great wineries, farm stands and beautiful scenery. Jedediah Hawkins Inn is right down the street and is a pretty place to have dinner or a drink. Although we didn't do this, another great thing about this location is that the ocean around Hampton Bays is just a 25 minute drive.
We had a wonderful time at this beautiful house a few minutes walk from the beach. The house itself was cozy and well maintained with a nice little deck for kicking back and grilling food. Barbara and Sean were both courteous and really easy to deal with. Barbara even brought us a slice of pie from a local bakery that was delicious! This made it feel as if it was truly our home as well. The only drawback I would say is that the sofa bed has seen better days but it is manageable for shorter trips. Other than that, this place was a godsend. Thanks again for wonderful the hospitality and we hope to visit again!
A wonderful time was had with my family while we stayed at Barbara and Sean's Cottage. The home was equipped with everything, a beautiful walk around the corner to the beach and a peaceful time at the home. Thank you Sean for all !!! We will definitely see you next year!!!
We rented this lovely cottage last summer for two weeks. It was very comfortable and cozy. My sister and her family rented the smaller cottage right next door for three weeks (very lovely and also owned by the Kelly family) and all 9 cousins had a ball out east together! The kids walked down the lane to the lovely, clean beach. They rode bikes and played ball on the lawn. This cottage has a deck and grill right off of the kitchen. The kitchen was equipped with everything I needed to cook for the whole gang. The high ceilings, and beachy decor give this cottage a very airy feeling. The kids loved the sleeping loft and the breeze was beautiful up there off of the water. The cottage has air conditioning, but we barely needed it, as the ceiling fan and breeze kept us cool enough.
The grounds are beautifully kept and the cottage was very clean. Sean was very attentive to any of our questions or needs.
The area is chock full of wineries and it is a perfect location for fun day trips. (Outlets, water park, aquarium, farm stands and self-pick farms, great restaurants, a fabulous ice cream shop....)
This is a perfect spot for a quiet getaway for two, or, a family stay. (At one point we had two adults and five children staying in the cottage) We had a lot of fun and made great memories on our vacation.
The cottage is perfect; warm and inviting, cozy and comfortable; complete with everything needed for a relaxing family vacation. The location is ideal. During our stay, we enjoyed wine tasting and boating, as well as hiking along Laurel Lake and the pristine Mashomack Preserve on Shelter Island, and, of course, shopping in the outlets. The cottage, just a short walk from the beach, as well as the nearby state ramp allowed us to fish from our boat and explore the beautiful bay for the length of our stay. We’re yearning to return.
Thank you, Barbara and Sean, for your attention to detail and your kind hospitality.
