About The Owner

I am a photographer and horse trainer. I travel a lot, that is how I found the unique area of Clark & Buck Taylor's cabin. I always travel with my dog's,a German Shepherd and a lively Jack Russell, and a new addition of a Great Dane! They LOVE to come out to the ranch and go hiking. My photography was fortunate enough to grace the cover of Cody & Beyond magazine & feature pictures of the area & the Cody Rodeo in the 2011-2013 & 2015 magazine. I spend my Summer's photographing some of the West's most memorable rodeo's but, the Cody Stampede s the most special of all!

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2004

Why The Owner chose Wyoming

I loved the fact that I could be close to the mountains and yet when family and friends visit we could be close to TWO tourist towns and Yellowstone Park. We never run out of things to do! The mountains are so close and beautiful, and there is a wonderful view in every direction being up so high. Also a big factor is that even though the ranch is private , it is paved up to where the property starts. I can hike right off from the cabin & the Shoshonee National Forest is in the backyard. BLM land backs up behind the cabin so there is plenty of open space. Hiking in the Clarks Fork Canyon is such an experience, hearing the rush of the river, spotting wildlife, glorious views. Picturing the calvary chasing down Cheif Joseph and his tribe many years ago. Best is getting up, sipping coffee and watching the sunrise over the Big Horn's 80 miles to the East, and the colors glowing on the mountains behind you.

What makes this cabin unique

Enjoy complete privacy & be born free as you will be the only guest at the ranch! Peacefulness, great fishing, hiking in the mountains with many access trails. Seeing the wildlife run free, gorgeous sunrises and sunsets, fresh air and awesome night skies with no city lights. I like the fact that historical figure Jeremiah Johnson used to frequent the area. There was a gunfight in the canyon & Cheif Joseph crossed through here when the calvary was in pursuit. There is a lot of history and you can feel it.

The cabin itself is so unique with hand tooled logs right from the Rocky Mountains! The decor is all 'old west', and you really feel a wonderful 'western experience'!

The ranch is pet friendly for pets and horses too. It feels good to think that Hall of Fame Cowboy, Buck Taylor, from 'Gunsmoke', used to own the cabin. You can listen to the coyote's and wolves howl while sitting at your bonfire at night, and really feel like you are in another era. There is plenty of cut firewood at the ranch for your use.

I also send my visitor's a travel planner packet. It has brochure's of activities in the Cody, Lovell, Red Lodge & Yellowstone area. I also include maps of the area, hiking trails, and fishing spot's.

Visitor's may plan well in advance their vacation time. This has gone over well & has proved to be very helpful to vacationer's.

Amazing!!!

  • 5 of 5

We took our sons and niece to see Yellowstone for my son's graduation trip. The trip was so much more than I could have ever imagined. The cabin is amazing. The feel of the cabin is like being in the old west with all the perks of modern day. My only regret is we packed our days so full that we didn't get to spend as much time at the cabin as I would have liked. We did however enjoy a great night of grilling, roasting marshmallows and stargazing. I would also like to thank Mrs. Debbie for being so great. We had never used VRBO and she made the experience absolutely painless. She is so nice and thoughtful. We received such great information from her. I wish she had homes everywhere I go. Thank you Mrs. Debbie for sharing your amazing house with us and for helping make our dream vacation an amazing experience!! The house was absolutely gorgeous!!! I hope one day to make it back that direction, and if I do , I will definitely be looking for your home again!

Charming mountain getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed the amenities of this cabin, both indoor and out. The cabin was surprisingly larger than the photos portrayed. The wrap around porch was ideal for taking in the majestic mountain views. The location to National Forest land is ideal for the outdoor enthusiasts. Highly recommended!

Great location and great house for a getaway

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying here as a couple. There is a bedroom downstairs with a fireplace and another bedroom upstairs. Great views and location. Super close to national forests, its a bit of a drive to Cody but thats the price to pay to be in a secluded ranch house with beautiful views. Would absolutely stay here again.

Great Home and Owner

  • 5 of 5

My brother and I decided to take a very last minute vacation in Wyoming. He selected this home as meeting all of our needs. The owner was prompt and informative in her replies to our questions and we were able to book the cabin for the next day. The location is just what we needed for a quiet and relaxing extended weekend. We took three dogs, and they had a blast, as well. It is located in a rural area, but still well within easy driving distance of convenient shopping and the natural areas Wyoming is known for when it comes to tourism. I've rented other VRBO homes in the Cody area before, and this was by far my favorite. I highly recommend the YRR!

Perfect Relaxation

  • 5 of 5

My father and I took a trip to this cabin in the middle of March. We were just looking for a relaxing get away to hang out. I am 40 and he is 65. We are outdoors type people who love scenery. This place was perfect. So relaxing and just as advertised. The cabin is well kept and very cozy. It is rustic, but very nice. Ceilings are low, but both of us are 6'0 and had zero issues. The shower was the most challenging but anyone who complains about it needs everything perfect in their life. We loved the whole vacation. The views from the deck front and back were wonderful. Everything we needed was there and available. We hiked the foothills above the cabin to wonderful views of the mountains and valley. We also drove down to Clarks Fork canyon and fished the stream there. I highly recommend Clarks Fork canyon. It is unreal. All and all, we couldn't have asked for a better trip. Next time we want to bring horses. The place is set up perfect for them and the location would be awesome for horseback riding. Also, the response from the owner was top notch. Thanks Debbi for sharing your home with my father and I. It was everything we were looking for and would love to stay again!
