Not to mention that Crested Butte is the place to be. Whether it be in winter for apres ski. After hitting world class terrain, knee deep in powder all day, walk back from the lifts, join your family in the new large hot tub for five to seven people overlooking the base area, while you fire up the gas grill on the patio. Okay. You prefer the warmer months of Spring and Summer. Bring your mountain bike and a pack of friends to ride or hike any one of the scenic trails directly from the front door.
During the summer months, Crested Butte the 'Wildflower Capital' is host to the Wildflower Festival in July as well as many athletic races ranging from Fat Tire Bike Week in June to the 1/3 Marathon from Gothic to downtown Crested Butte every 4th of July. Additionally, the Gunnison Valley is home to some of the best fly fishing around.
Or Fall. If you prefer the more laid back approach to experiencing the mountains, late September into early October is peak time to watch the Aspens glow. Year round, you will find a good balance between adventure and peace of mind in this quirky but enchanting mountain town.

We are a family of five that used to live in Boulder, Colorado. I have been vacationing with my family in Crested Butte since I was 8 years old. I grew up skiing on Mt. Crested Butte and I remember when there were only 3 lifts up the mountain to include a gondola that went to the ever elusive base of the butte. I now come back with my family every summer to hike and bike and enjoy my beloved C.B.
Holly Likos purchased this condo in 1979
We love Crested Butte because of the laid back feel of the place and its people. Its like the wild, wild west of ski resorts. No fur shops. No Cartier. No chains whatsoever. Its easy to get around this small town by bike or free public transportation. Great hikes abound. And its the best place to mountain bike in the entire state of Colorado!
I love how spacious it is. It is peaceful and quiet. There are spectacular views. And I always feel like I have truly gotten away.
The property was comfortable with a great location and amazing views. Easy access to all activities.
The location was ideal, a short walk from the base area, shops, and bus shuttle. Views are incredible and a large porch is situated perfectly to take in the vista. The interior was comfortable, not high-end, and was overall clean barring a few cooking pots that got put back in the cupboard dirty. It was relaxing and spacious, and had everything needed such as extra blankets, a decent array of cookwear, lots of towels, etc. Some rooms had updates such as 2 of 3 bathrooms, and while the kitchen counter was updated the kitchen cabinets were original and seemed to bow under weight. It was quiet between floors and we didn't hear other unit's noise. During our visit the sauna in the building was out of order; there are saunas in the other 2 buildings but we didn't explore. The stove was a throwback to the 70's and caused the most grief for cooking for a large group as pans slid off the coil burners. For the money this was a good value, a nice and comfortable place to stay but don't expect high-end.
This condo is placed perfectly right next to the ski resort and a short walk to the shuttle into town. The views were beautiful! This was the Perfect spot for my family of three and our other friends with children as well. The closet was full of games, there was dish soap, laundry detergent, shampoo in the showers, and pack and plays in the closets. The directions to get into the house along with multiple keys and parking passes came in handy and the communication with the owner was easy with fast responses. The only non major negatives were that we couldn't figure out the cable (with kids this was a bummer) and the hot tub was down in a common area in the front and we thought maybe it was outside of our door. Perfect stay in creates butte would definitely stay again!
We loved our stay in this wonderful, spacious home. The views were majestic from almost every room. The hot tub was in the shadow of Mt. Crested Butte. The owner was great to work with. We highly recommend this home and will define try go back.
Just back from another great trip to Crested Butte and we love this place! Fantastic location at a great price. We’ve been coming here in the winter and summer for years now. The condo is always spotless upon arrival, and when you don’t want to go out to eat, the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to easily cook for a family. The location could not be better: you are on the mountain and steps away from skiing, mountain biking, and hiking, including the free bus that takes you into town.
We stayed at this condo for a ski vacation. The location is very convenient and the price is certainly good but the place is in real need of some repair and attention. We travel to CB several times a year and would not stay in this condo again.
We are located on the upper floor in an end unit of the highly desirable Ponderosa complex. There are views of the surrounding mountain ranges from every room. You won't look out at any adjacent buildings. We are within walking distance to the ski area, base, and lifts as well as shops and restaurants. It is an easy, 2 block walk to the bus depot. Crested Butte offers a FREE shuttle service down the mountain and around the town of Crested Butte. The schedule depends on the time of year.
Other Activities: Shopping, Rafting, Kayaking, Snowboarding, Snowmobiling, Wildlife Viewing, Rock Climbing, Health/Beauty Spa, Hot Air Ballooning.
