Savannah Charm, mostly...

First off, the good stuff: The location is really good, with proximity to a variety of great dining and shopping. 4-6 blocks from Broughton and River St, near historic locations and great old quarter squares; located on Liberty St., a main boulevard for east/west travel.

The home is what we expected and as advertised, an 1870's row house with high ceilings, private parking, and plenty of southern charm. And, if you've ever been to Savannah, you know the value of private lighted parking!

A modern kitchen and up-to-date bathrooms were a plus and the common walls with the homes next door did not leave us wishing for more quiet.

Next, the opportunities: Can be summarized as "the devil is in the details." Small television in the lower level, none upstairs; Had to replace a couple of light bulbs and get some extra hand soap and toilet paper; the small things like presentation of towels, air freshener, hand soap, organized documentation that put of property "over the top" were missing.

That being said, we enjoyed our stay and the property was certainly an addition to the charm that Savannah offers to any visitor.

Beautiful, comfortable, central to everything

My parents, the missus, and I stayed here over the Christmas holiday. It was wonderful. The house has been updated in all the right ways (namely the kitchen and baths) but all the rest is original but well maintained. You get a feel for old Savannah architecture without sacrificing comfort and modern amenities.

Speaking of the kitchen, we cooked our Christmas dinner in the kitchen and it turned out great!

I couldn't have asked for a more perfect location either! It's a short walk to everything in downtown Savannah. Don't like to walk? Neither do my parents. Also, it was cold and rainy while we were there. No worries! The free shuttle has a stop two doors down from the house at the corner of Liberty and Price which arrives every 10 minutes or less.

Also, Steve was really easy to work with. The whole experience was top-notch from start to finish.

Perfect location, clean and comfortable!

If you're coming to Savannah for SCAD graduation, this is the place to stay! Walking distance to the ceremonies, a great deli across the street, with downtown historic Savannah all around you. This rental is comfortable, clean, decorated in true Southern charm. Lovely backyard courtyard and off street parking, you can't go wrong!

Good location, great private parking

Charming home in a good location for sightseeing in Savannah. Comfortable beds and kitchen appliances in good working order. Only "minus" was the master bedroom does not have a shower (has a clawfoot tub) so we had to share the shower in the 2nd bathroom with the other couple.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the kind words. On the tub, I every once in a while though during those 11 years I have rented my home get that one complaint by far the most. Pleasing every guest is important to us, and we sure don't want anything that is an inconveniences to our guests. I would like all to understand that in our description of my home I do tell you in writing that their is one shower, one tub in the home, we do have both bathroom in our photos of the home that show one shower one tub. It's always good to read the full description of a home your getting ready to stay in for a few days so their are no surprises, that create any an inconvenience to our guests. Each home owner is required to describe in photos and the written word what is available in the home. We did describe it in the description, and did show photos two view or more of the bathrooms upstairs and the half bath down stairs. that is on VRBO or Home away idea to describe your home the best you can. We are sorry for your inconvenience you were great guests.

Why Steve Framke chose Historic District - North

The townhouse has the feel of what it was like living in Savannah back during the 1800, very little has been changed from how it was originally built. with most of the original wood work, stair cases, and the beautiful heart pine floors. If you are in love with historic home like me you will love it. The second reason was the near ideal location, near the center of the historic district on a bld street with much less traffic noise everything is with in walking distance, and the added bonus of onsite private parking, patio with a palm tree that was planted by mother Nature.

What makes this townhome unique

Parking is at a premium downtown, we have two private parking places on the property! This home is historic We also have unmetered parking in the front of the townhouse. The townhouse is located between Habersham and Price Streets The row houses were built in two sections I am in the old section near the center with the only balcony in the front, the home was in the #Garden of Good and Evil" as the Row house with the blue front that Lady Chablis went out and walked in front of my home as mine is next door. It's my home so all the antiques I have collected are there as well. Please take care of my home.
