Built in 2002, a very nice 4500 sf home on 12 acres. There are additional stalls and pasture if you bring your own horses.. Plenty of activities for the kids on the premises. Hunt for arrowheads.* Hiking/riding trails nearby. Just 25 minutes to shopping at Chapel Hills mall. Mount Herman and Rampart Range are just 20 minutes away. 25 minutes to the Air Force Academy.
*modern arrowheads and beads for your "hunting" enjoyment.
We moved to Colorado Springs in 2003. We lived in this beautiful country home and home schooled our children for 2 years. Once our children enrolled in Evangelical Christian Academy, it became too hectic to commute to all of their activities. Eventually we purchased a smaller home in town. We still spend time here with our horses, and enjoy most weekends here. We hope to allow our guests to enjoy this special place as much as we do.
We had a total of 28 kids and 10 adults for our church youth trip go to Colorado springs. The property was centrally located to different attractions and had plenty for the kids to do on our down time. Joe was very helpful in anything we needed. Will definitely be staying here again.
Although a little distance from town....30 min to Denver or Springs. This home was built for kids in mind...zip line, ranch horses, climbing wall, trampoline, activity tables, basketball... A little of everything for the kids! A great active ranch home with lots of room for extended family to visit too - lots of space with separate bedrooms...peacefully and quiet location. We would say here again.
Overall we had a good experience, and the house met our needs for the stay. The owners were easy to work with in securing and paying for the rental. The toys for the children were wonderful and much appreciated. The soaps and washing supplies were great.
Because we indicated our arrival would probably be late, the grounds person and housekeeper were not ready for an afternoon arrival. Everything was clean except the kitchen and outside grill. We would suggest the owner have things done before the day of arrival and do a walk through. Also, when visiting the property, we would encourage the owner/maintenance to knock or ring the bell and wait for the door to be answered rather than just calling out as they enter.
The owners were very helpful with directions and maps for taking the best routes to stores and the USAF Academy. We did enjoy the zip line, but our oldest son used it and discouraged anyone using the long line without more safety features like safety checks on the platform and lines and the use of helmets. (He is safety conscious as a certified Jumpmaster in the US Army.) So we just used the shorter line to pull the children up the line and let them go.
It would be helpful if there were instructions for use of the TV etc and also brochures from the area of things to do.
This is our 2nd year at this home and we thouroughly enjoyed ourselves. Family members came from California, Atlanta, Michigan, Boston and various cities in Colorado. My father is now in a wheelchair, and was able to get around the house easily, especially in the large bathroom. We celebrated my parent's 65th wedding anniversary on Sunday and had 47 guests enjoy a cook out and "Field Day" games for the younger generation. This home offers lots of space for people to relax, plenty of seating for everyone to eat and a great kitchen for preparing a feast. We found large pots for cooking, platters and bowls for serving and utensils needed for this large of a group. Some of the activities available at the house includes a zipline, rock climbing wall, go carts, horses, hot tub, pool table, ping pong, foosball, board games and books. Last year we did several tourist activities in Manitou Springs and Colorado Springs, but this year we spent the entire 3 days at the house. I don't think anyone was ever bored! (saying a lot for the "city kids") The owners were very helpful and answered all our questions. I'd highly recommend this home for all age groups (we had 7months to 88 years) as there is something for everyone!
The property was everything advertised and more. We had a great time at the house which was truly a home away from home. Beds were comfortable, activities plentiful, and kitchen well stocked. I plan to stay here when we come back and would recommend this house to anyone I know.
We really loved staying at this vacation home. It was beyond what I expected. All the main rooms were open and roomy with panoramic view of rolling hills and the mountain. We loved riding the beautiful and well-behaved horses, the go-carts, maypole, and zip lines. Our kids loved searching for the arrow heads. Everything was furnished in the house. I think we could have lasted a week without buying any food because there were dry food left in the pantry. The owner of the house was very kind and hospitable. Even though he was very busy, he took a day to take us all us a park with a beautiful horse trail and a lake. We really enjoyed our stay at this home and felt sad when we had to leave. Thank you very much for your hospitality and kindness.
