Enjoyable Tropical Getaway
I rented this property for a relaxed bachelorette with 4 friends. The house was a very cute historic build with a lot of character. The decoration was minimal and charming. It was perfectly situated 15 mins from the airport, walkable to some cute bars and restaurants, and only 15-20 to downtown West Palm Beach. The driveway was helpful for our rental car. The backyard was cute, although a mix of grass and dirt. The kitchen was bare bones, there were enough pots and pans, but the knives were dull and it would have been nice to have more serving dishes or a clean grill. The beds were comfortable and freshly made. No strong fragrances in the house. It's an old house in humid Florida, so I do understand that its not entirely pristine in some areas. But I do really have a problem with the visible mold on AC units, so we just kept them off and opened windows at night. My biggest issue was that the communication with the owner was very difficult. All the instructions for the house were automatically sent out day of arrival/leave etc. I was expecting to know how to get into the house, but had to wait til 1 hour before check in to get the passcode for keyless entry. So it was stressful heading there without knowing how to get in and the owner was unresponsive via email, VRBO message, and phone day of arrival. Overall it was a great home base and a very cute house, but a little more hospitality and attention to detail would have gone a long way to improve our experience.
