This well equiped, comfortable condo provided a great location with a beautiful view for my short term placement in the area. The unit was particularly nice in the afternoon with the sun streaming in and the sunset views were lovely. Convenient to local attractions and great restaurants.
This is a very nice condo high up enough for good views of the Potomic and an evening fireworks show. I arrived late in the evening, weather pouring down rain and Kevin met me in front of the condo right on time - greatly appreciated. The check-in / check-out process was flawless and easy. The parking garage is also easy to navigate with probably the quickest door opener I've ever seen. All in all, a very ncie condo with a great property manager in Kevin.
This 8th floor condo has a large sliding glass door to a balcony with a view of the Potomac River, Old Town Alexandria and daily gorgeous sunsets. Sitting at our dining table nightly we would take in the view and enjoy the comfortable feel of the apartment. The galley kitchen enabled us to easily prepare meals, and we ate in regularly, while the location in National Harbor allowed us the benefit of great restaurants on both sides of the river as we took the water taxi back and forth to Old Town and up to Georgetown. We parked our car in a designated spot in the secure garage (also where we stored our bike) and daily walked and biked the Harbor paths and got to kayak on the Potomac and ride the new Capitol Wheel. The unit contained all the essentials we needed (we bought our own blender), and the living room, bedroom, bathroom and closet were good sized so we were comfortable. The unit is located at the end of the hall in the southwest corner of the building so there was no hallway or elevator noise. The few residents we met were very nice and friendly and the building manager was gracious and very welcoming. The building is kept in very good shape and there was an online access page that provided updates on Harbor events. There were weekly concerts on the Harbor plaza and we even saw Cirque du Soleil at the Harbor plateau - we found the Harbor to be a fun, lively neighborhood. Weekends were sometimes too noisy for our liking. Kevin was great to work with - easy going. He was available when we needed him - just a phone call away. No hassles - very accommodating. Easy check-in, check out, billing etc. everything was taken care of. We had a great time exploring Wash DC, Baltimore, Annapolis, Mt Vernon etc - all that the Capitol city had to offer - easy access to the highway. We were bummed that we missed the newest addition to the Harbor area - MGM Grand casino, but we promised ourselves to return when they open their doors in 2015. And we would definitely stay in the condo again - the first time was a great experience!
We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed our stay at the condo! The condo neighborhood is new, has a well layed out "town" right outside the front door. Relaxing to walk around (sculptures, music, coffee, outdoor projection screen and restaurants - even before you go into DC) with water views all around. Water taxi's to Old town, Mt. Vernon and Georgetown are a nice way to travel and beat the traffic.
To get into DC, there is a shuttle bus available, as well as bus service, we drove and parked in DC (only $16 dollars day).
Our stay was a really nice way to enjoy DC and it was great to have a place to return "home" to and enjoy a relaxing dinner in the condo or a nice dinner in one of the restaurants on the water front.
Kevin's rental condo in National Harbor is in a new building that is well
maintained. It adjoins the Aloft Hotel and shares facilities with the hotel.
Kevin was very prompt and helpful at our arrival. The apartment is bright
and airy, nicely equipped and furnished with all the necessities for visitors.
There is an indoor, secure parking space.
The development is mostly intended for conventioneers, so there are many hotels,
specialty stores and restaurants, but no grocery, drug or liquor stores. So you
need a car to get to Oxon Hill or Alexandria for supplies and to get to Branch
Ave or Huntington Av Metro stations.
Some helpful suggestions for visitors:
1. If you arrive by freeway take the "local" lanes when crossing the Wilson
Bridge to exit at National Harbor.
2. Traffic on I495 is not bad except at rush hour.
3. Parking at the metro stations is very crowded unless you arrive very early
but plenty of additional spaces become available after 10am.
We enjoyed our stay and will plan to return when we come back to the DC area.
I really enjoyed my stay. The place was absolutely beautiful! It was a nice getway. The area was also very upscale, with lovely views of the water. The quick access to DC gave me plenty of things to do over the weekend. Can't wait to come back down.
