About Bill

My wife used her professional decorating skills to furnish our Hawaiian home beautifully. We use it when we can break away from work. I golf frequently and can tell you about all the courses many of which I can get discounts on for you. For you tennis players who need games you came to the right place. We both play and know many on the Island who do also. Glad to help in player matching.

Bill purchased this condo in 2006

We purchased at the Mauna Kea Resort because of it's great weather and full luxurious amenities that cannot be duplicated anywhere in the World.

Great Place!

  • 5 of 5

This is our first time staying in this development Wai 'ula 'ula. We have stayed at other places within the Mauna Kea Resort such as the Villas at Mauna Kea but we liked this location just as well and it was much less expensive. All of the reviews are accurate. We are a family of 6 with three kids and a elderly mother-in-law. We needed a ground floor unit with no stairs inside the condo for easy access for the mother-in-law. The beds were are super comfortable and excellent quality. The view from the condo is excellent. Condo has a great layout, great kitchen, is beautifully decorated and nicely is furnished with all new high-quality furniture and appliances. The condo owner and their manager were highly responsive and happily took care of all our requests. The privacy was excellent as we did not notice anyone around us or above us. The air conditioning was quiet and worked great. All in all this condo worked out perfectly and will stay here again.

The Greatest Place for a Family Retreat

  • 5 of 5

We have been to Big Island a gazillion times. Of all our stays, this one was the most special. The amenities such as all Wolf and Subzero appliances are tops and the views go forever: golf course and ocean. The villa was very clean and well maintained. There are actually 2 Master Suites with a large third bedroom. Very comfortable couches and large TV's in each room. The owner was very helpful getting us to some terrific golf as well as letting us know about other attractions. It was very warm during this time, but the trades were blowing, so we didn't have to use too much air. We like nature. The Home is situated very close to many interesting restaurants in some little towns nearby.

One other highlight about the property is a private pool and lounge very close to the villa.

I will definitely return to this particular property in the near future.

Spectacular home in a perfect ocean view setting.

  • 5 of 5

The Wai'ula'ula C-102 home is absolutely gorgeous.

The expansive ocean views get better as the day progresses. The covered lanai and outdoor kitchen are large, comfortable and perfect for grilling, relaxing, and watching sunsets with NOTHING between you and the view. The double-security gated neighborhood and pool/sauna about 50 yards away are top-drawer. The home itself features 3 master suites and 3 full baths. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to "stay in" after a day at Mauna Kea. Want a golf course view? This home sits right on a beautiful downhill par 4 on the Hapuna course. The owners of this terrific home have provided everything you need to feel comfortable. By the way, the westerly part of the great room features a wall of sliding glass doors out to the lanai: want to feel the breeze from the ocean? Easy. Slide back the wall. And by the way...for say 6 adults, or 3 couples, the nightly rate is about the same as 1 room at a luxury hotel. Said another way, 3 couples can stay here for 12 nights and each pay the equivalent of 4-5 nights at a hotel. Also, bedding, linens, towels etc are top grade. There is great pride of ownership on display here, and the owners are willing to share their chunk of paradise.

Exceeded our expectations!

  • 5 of 5

This was our 3rd time to the Big Island, and 2nd time with our family (3 kids under age 10). We brought one set of grandparents too, so there were 7 of us total.

We enjoyed working with the condo owner Bill; he was very helpful, responsive, and accommodating. His onsite manager is a real pleasure to work with.

The condo is very spacious and furnished beautifully. The kitchen was very well equipped and we used the grill on the lanai several times.

Parking was limited and tight but adequate.

The amenity center with a beautiful pool and hot tub, work out room and community room was very close by.

It was quiet, comfortable, and the VIEW! AMAZING!!

The proximity to the Hapuna and Mauna Kea Beaches was exactly what we were after. We paid the extra fee (arranged through the condo owner but paid directly to the hotel) to have access to the hotel pools and towel service. Totally worth it. The Mauna Kea Hotel's poolside and ocean lounge chairs get "saved" early in the day which is frustrating. That didn't seem to be the case at the Hapuna Beach Hotel though. Stop at Costco right after landing and buy yourself a boogie board. You'll get tons of use out of it if you spend any time at these beaches!

The Mauna Kea luau was fun. They don't advertise it much but there is an option to go to just the show and skip dinner. When we compared the dinner + show cost vs. just show, we decided dinner is NOT worth it. The kids were happier eating at the condo and the show was worth every penny.

Both the Mauna Kea and Hapuna Prince Hotels offer a breakfast that is to die for in a setting that is just so beautiful. Casual dining options are expensive and limited near these beaches, which is another reason a condo was a MUST for us this time around with the family along.

We considered the Waikaloa Beach/Kolea Condos, Mauna Lani Condos, Private Homes in North Kohala, and others. I am SO GLAD we stayed at Mauna Kea and in this particular unit. It was AWESOME.

Perfect Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We just got back last week and we're already looking at our calendars to figure out when we can return. The condo exceeded our expectations. The property title isn't wrong -- it really has amazing views. The condo was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. And it was perfect for our first vacation with our 1-year old. There was plenty of space for our baby to crawl around both inside and on the lawn adjacent to the lanai. And the owner and his property manager were extremely helpful -- they made arrangements for a crib and even helped us find a babysitter! There is a large infinity pool, a hot tub, and a shallow warm water pool that was perfect for the baby. In addition, having the option to use the pool and beach amenities at the Mauna Kea and Hapuna Prince hotels guaranteed that we would not run out of places to enjoy. We can't wait to go back.

Easter in Paradise

  • 5 of 5

Just stayed here over Spring Break/Easter week '13. Everything was handled professionally from the initial contact with the property owner to the property manager informing us as to when the maids would be finished before our arrival. Unit was very clean & extremely well-appointed. Lots of linens and the washer & dryer let us bring less clothes for our week long stay. Used the patio grill almost every night. Everyone had their own bedroom and bath. Lots of room for the four of us to stretch out over the week.

Amenity package at the hotel was convenient for beverages and towels and pool & beach access. Fitness center in complex was 1 minute walk from unit. Look forward to staying here again. Received my security deposit in less than a week.
