I am a ranch raised Wyoming girl. As a native to the west, I know that Livingston and Paradise Valley offer all the attractions that one could want when visiting Montana. It is the perfect place to 'get away'. I hope you will come for a visit.
Ginny Southwick purchased this cabin in 2011
We really enjoyed our Yellowstone experience - the log cabin is really the Best in Paradise Valley... it was so relaxing and a great place to use as a base camp for our holiday.....we loved it. It was very a special way to celebrate my 70th birthday and our 45th wedding anniversary...staying in a log cabin made it even more special. Thank you , we appreciated it very much.... bill & phyllis
Truly a piece of heaven on Earth!!! Cabin in a truly stunning position quiet private fantastic surroundings we have stayed now for the last three years in paradise valley flyfishing but this cabin exceeded all our expectations warm well coming feeling on walking in our days spend fishing new places found as part yellowstone closed looked forward to going back to cabin beer on decking and then the show began stunning sky's ever-changing colours on mountains ando sunsets out of this world yhe stars at night are another thing to watch thank you for sharing your home will be back unless someone beats us to it
My Dad, brother and I stayed here for a fishing trip we planned for a birthday celebration. It was the perfect size for us! The cabin had all we needed and more. We found ourselves taking in the view of the mountains, all thru the moonlight hours. Owner was great and clear with all communication. Easy drives to Yellowstone and Livingston. Emigrant was a neat little town. Wildflour was indeed a great breakfast/coffee stop. Thank you so much for sharing this awesome place! So cozy and felt just like a home of ours.
We arrived at the cabin after a very long train ride. Immediately entering the cabin it felt like home. My three children were overjoyed to have their own beds to sleep in. They were arranged in such a way that they each had their own sleeping area. It was nice that my husband and I had the downstairs to ourselves. The living room furniture is so comfy after a long day driving in the car. Our last night we grilled and ate out on the picnic table in view of the mountains. We enjoyed star gazing at night from the porch. Waking up to the mountains was amazing. The Last Best Cabin goes above and beyond to make a vacation home feel like home.
We enjoyed our stay, although we didn't spend a lot of time at the cabin. It is clean, well taken care of, had everything we needed and is exactly what we expected. If you're looking for a location that is away from the Yellowstone crowds, this is the place for you.
The beds are EXTRA soft due to memory foam/egg crate toppers, so keep that in mind if you need a firmer mattress. Also, given that the cabin is in a wide open field, there were several spiders we had to contend with during our stay. For the most part we expected and were okay with that, until we found several hiding in nooks of the ceiling in the loft. It's kind of creepy and unsettling to find spiders so close to the beds! Our final night we found 4-5 in the loft and even though my husband killed all but one who got away, the kids ended up sleeping with me in the bed downstairs while my husband slept on the couch. I did talk to Ginny that night and she mentioned that she has the cabin sprayed for bugs/spiders, but considering the location I'm sure it's hard to eliminate them entirely.
