About Lyne Vaillancourt

We were looking for a place to put our feet up from this crazy and fast life that we live in. One day, as I was taking a walk down the street with a friend I saw this little run down house. I just had to have it. It needed lots of work and lots of love but we bought this house because of the location and character it brings out from all of us.

Lyne Vaillancourt purchased this house in 2009

Why Lyne Vaillancourt chose British Columbia Mountains

This house is located in Dutch Creek Community set on the mountain side with many paths and near the Dutch creek river. The sound of the birds and the creek in the morning and the evening is very southing and relaxing to us. The atmosphere is so peaceful and very warming every time we visit. All the wild life activity is so amazing to watch and takes you to another world all together. You soon forget what life is like in the big city.

What makes this house unique

Some fines will triple under amended wildfire laws

3/10/2016 12:05 PM

VICTORIA - The B.C. government is taking a tougher stand to discourage behaviour that contributes to increased wildfire risks, to help protect communities, natural resources and infrastructure from wildfire damage.

Additional legislative changes will result in significantly increased ticket fines for 19 different violations under the Wildfire Act and for seven different violations under Wildfire Regulation. These changes mean that British Columbia now has some of the highest wildfire-related violation ticket fines in the country.

For example, the fine for failing to comply with a fire restriction under the Wildfire Act is increasing from $345 (including a $45 victim surcharge) to $1,150 (including a $150 victim surcharge). This represents a 333.33% increase over the old fine for that offence.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi Lyne,

Thank you for sharing your beautiful Fairmont home with my family. I would like to offer a few comments please.

The home is beautiful and neat and tidy and the setting is wonderful. We rent homes in Raduim, Windermere and Invermere almost 3 times a year.It is very difficult to try and pack everything when leaving for a 3 day weekend.I would certainly rent your place again as I loved the location and home.My grandbabies enjoyed the pool.

All in all we had a very nice time and if the place is not sold next summer or in the fall I will rent again

Thanks,

Sylvia.

Great Ski vacation at this Cozy Cabin! :)

  • 4 of 5

Our group was a party of 8 (4 couples) and we spent 8 days at this cabin for New Years Eve from Dec 26th until Jan 3rd 2016. The property is exactly as described and as you can see it in pictures. Owners are quick to assist with any questions, inquiries or assistance requests. It's a cozy, quiet, comfortable cabin in the woods. Excellent for relaxing, chilling by the electric fireplace, unwind. Amenities are close by. Ski hills were in close proximity as well, a couple of them less then 30 min. away and few more 1-2 hours away. One of the hot springs is only 5 minutes away … very convenient. The cabin has most of the amenities you need. Beds are all comfortable. We would have liked to have access to the laundry washer and dryer, but it wasn’t a deal breaker. Please be aware the hot water runs out pretty fast with 8 adults showering at the same time… it takes a bit of scheduling. :) And if you rent it in winter please be aware that the heating system is a bit noisy in the basement bedroom. Overall an excellent cabin recommended for any length of time.

Very spacious bungalow,

  • 4 of 5

My family and I (2 couples, my mother and 3 children), took the long weekend and enjoys this home. It was very big, the kitchen was easy to work in, and the treed lot was amazing. It was extremely close to all the activities of fairmont hot springs (3-5 minutes) and we really appreciated that.

A couple things that could be improved on was: there was half to a quarter of a roll of toilet paper in each of the bathrooms, without any replacements and no paper towels of any kind. There was only one small kitchen type of garbage bags. I really think this may have been a one time oversight, but it was annoying to have to go to the store and buy these supplies for ourselves. I have rented numerous VRBO properties all over North America, and this was a first. While the pictures had a fire pit, it was not available. There was a fireban previously in the summer so they may have put it away earlier in the season, but there wasn't a fireban on the weekend we were there.

Other than that, I would consider this an excellent rental for groups of people. The beds were extremely comfortable as well.

Wonderful getaway

  • 5 of 5

This is the perfect location for any kind of getaway. We immediately felt at home in this comfortable, well appointed cabin. Lots of space inside and out - great deck and woods surrounding the property! We enjoyed being in close proximity to walks and nearby amenities. The owner was quick to respond to any queries. Our group has stayed in various locations in the valley and this is our favorite spot. We will be back!

Great rental!

  • 5 of 5

This home is the perfect size and location for a getaway. The house is lovely and close to all amenities. We had 4 couples stay there and everyone had their own room with queen beds and at no time were we crowded. If there was a negative, it would be that there was no internet service, which was tough when 2 of us were working during our stay. Overall, this is a great place to stay and would recommend it!

Great location for kids

  • 4 of 5

A great cabin and wonderful location. The cabin was very clean when we arrived which was lovely. It lacked a broom to be able to maintain the kitchen floor and also no use of the washer/dryer was disappointing with a houseful of people. The bbq was in bad shape although useable thankfully. Local pool and amenities were fabulous
