Overview

About the property

6 BR, 3 BA, sleeps 12

‘BearFoot Lodge’…quite unique in the fact that you have two independent levels under one roof should you decide you need a little space from aunt Susie ... lol! Just kiddin. The main level includes three bedrooms, two baths, a complete kitchen and dining room, washer/dryer, hot tub, etc, big screen TV/ DVD/ VCR/ and cable. And YES, yes ... there is Internet!! You'll enjoy a lovely variety of cherished antiques, colorful quilts, all mixed with modern conveniences and mountain decorations at the 'Bearfoot Lodge', a unique manor in which to plan your family reunion year after year!

Relax with Nature in the Smokies: On the upper deck is a relaxing hot tub with its own privacy porch. Listen to the katydids and night sounds while soaking away the cares of the day! Bring your fishin' pole! You can 'hike' to the Little River in about 20 minutes or drive there in 3 or 4! And I've been told you can hear it running at night from the spacious deck out front. Especially when it is swollen with the summer rains!

Check this out ... there is another complete kitchen and laundry on the lower level! Talk about plenty of space for all the gals in the kitchen ... woohoo! Plus...each level boasts its own wood-burning fireplace to gather ‘round and reminisce of days gone by. What a wonderful place to get re-acquainted! Plenty of paved parking, no 4-wheel drives needed. Biker friendly with a large covered porch area to keep 'em dry and ready to go!

Activities & Attractions: In a lovely small town you may have to 'settle' for laid back activities such as hiking, horseback riding, touring the magnificent Smokies, spelunking, geocaching, naturalistic sightseeing, bluegrass, daylily and old-timer craft festivals, and the most popular being riding a tube for hours on end! The Little River runs the entire length of Townsend and we are proud to have a three mile bike/walking trail ... lighted! A new and very popular arrival to our little town is the Great Smoky Mountain Heritage Center and I'll see that you get FREE tickets to tour, just ask! Ahhhh.... relaxation for a change!

Need a bit more action? 'Bearfoot Lodge' and Townsend are only 18 miles from the ever popluar Gatlinburg including Ober Gatlinburg ski resort, Pigeon Forge and Dollywood, known to be a shopper's paradise with all the outlet malls, etc. stage shows, music theaters, fine dining, action and more action. But, you'll be glad you're residing on the 'Peaceful side of the Smokies...Townsend, TN' when the day is done! Call today to reserve your Smoky Mountain getaway to remember!
