About Rusty

Hi my name is Rusty Rust. I am a single dad of two sons. I am a commercial and investment real estate agent. I am a pro bass fisherman and I have along with my co-host Dan our own fishing show on TV call Fishin Affliction. I love to fish and spend a great deal of time on the water. I do have a pontoon boat available for rental during your stay.

Rusty purchased this house in 2005

Why Rusty chose Mount Juliet

Has large 2 story decks, hot tub, pool table, lake front with dock, 7 beds in house. 1 king, 5 queens , a twin and a sleeper sofa.

What makes this house unique

I just love this house and having its own dock on the lake. I can take my boat out fishing or just fish off the dock. I can ride my jet skis. It is my home away from home. There is a small fishing boat and pontoon boat available for rent

Guestbook comments from the owner

Actually the whole side of the pool table was broke and is being replaced, couch with broke back is being replaced as well, (a party got a little more than wild) while the new cleaning lady did show up later this group stayed 3.5 hours later there last day and i discounted half the 1st day. They DID have clean sheets, linens, hot tub was cleaned, decks were blown off, dishes were clean, railing has 2000 pound cable so there is NO WAY godzilla is going throuh it. We are taking care of some repairs after a extremely busy active season.

Fantastic Lake house!!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a fantastic holiday weekend at Rusty’s lake home. He was great to deal with and the house has everything you could want or need for a group gathering. You are close to downtown Nashville but far enough away to enjoy the serenity of the lake.

Plenty of space!

  • 3 of 5

Pros: This is a nice big space where everyone can have a bit of their own space but still hang out together. We had a group of 6 adults and 4 kiddos and there was a room for everyone, even quiet space to let our sleepy babies rest shielded from the noise of our group. We cooked all our meals here and found everything we needed to do that. The washer and dryer were a big help too! The hot tub was definitely hot and relaxing. And there are enough bathrooms that everyone could shower and get ready for the day easily. If you're looking for a big space for your group to get together and spend time with each other, this is the place for that. Beautiful views and great space outdoors as well as in. Rusty was very kind and on the spot when needed. Also the gas fireplace was so nice!

Cons: This home is well loved. There are definitely some things that need repair or updating. Some of the furniture is incredibly worn, torn, and appears dirty. Some of the pillows in the downstairs bedrooms smelled very dirty and need to be replaced. We found them to be unusable. The cover for the hot tub was falling apart(literally pieces of it were floating in the tub when we removed the cover) and appeared rusty and dirty. The hot tub itself was stained with rust in many places and looked dirty at first, though the rust didn't appear to come off when you touched it, so we braved it anyway. The refrigerator had been very hastily cleaned and had food scraps in one of the drawers and hair on one of the shelves. I had to clean it first thing when we arrived. There were also lots of dead bugs in the windows and on the floor that appeared to have been there a long time. In general, I was most disappointed with the cleanliness. There was a quite expensive cleaning fee attached to renting this house so I did expect it to be pretty spotless, but it seemed to be just done to a "this is good enough" standard. Mirrors were water-spotted, so they appeared not to have been cleaned. The sunroom, kitchen cabinets, and utility room were cluttered with old stuff, etc. In general there was a lack of detail in the cleanliness of the home. However, we did enjoy our time here as a family. It's a great space. It just needs a little love, some updating, and a good all over cleaning.

Owner's Response: Thank s for staying with is ! Guilty of cluttering up.some.closets, we had done all floors in hardwoods before your arrival, we will make that disaper. The lady bugs were a problem in the fall as they did a release as they eat affids, (small bugs that kill trees along the lake) they go straight to windows when they sneak in an open door, when door is opened and die in cooler weather, we have check all window seals again and cleaned these. We went through checked and did replace some pillows. Thanks for your comments, it allows us to steady improve condition s as we want you to have the most awesome stay! Rusty

Lots Of Space!

  • 5 of 5

We brought a group of young people down to Nashville for an event and found this house to be an excellent place to hang out together during our free time. Furnishings are not overly fancy but very functional. Everything was in good working order. The best part of this house for our group was a nice variety of spacious places to hang out... upstairs, downstairs, or out on the deck. Location was good... only 15 minutes from the Hermitage. Only disappointment was the waterfront: the views were great but there is really no clean place to swim from shore. We will likely stay here again next year for the same event.

Beautiful View

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time at this house. The house was well loved. We needed a couple of issues taken care of but Rusty had them taken care of right away.

Couple of things in the house could have been cleaner but we all had a great time.

We would stay again.

Thanks Rusty!

4.5 Stars :-) LOTS OF ROOM!!!!!

  • 4 of 5

My family stayed at Rusty's home at the end of July. The house comfortably housed 14 adults! 2 of the younger adults slept on the couches in the screen porch, but the rest of us couples pretty much each had our own space. The kitchen was well equipped, however some of the kitchen tools could stand to be replaced. The house itself has some wear and tear (to be expected), but overall we found it to be clean enough and definitely a comfortable stay. It was what I would expect of a moderately priced lake house for rent. We brought our own boat and were able to take advantage of the nearby sandbar. If you don't bring your own boat, plan on renting Rusty's if your intention is to utilize the water. There is really no way to go swimming directly from the property. Also please note that the grassy area is very steep and there is really only a small flat area at the bottom toward the lake. The walk down to the water is STEEP. Nashville is about a 20 minute drive from the property. We rented a car which was the ideal situation. There are quite a few restaurants and grocery stores close by (driving distance) and a gas station within walking distance.

The only issue that we had was that we blew a breaker and had to call Rusty because one of the air conditioner units wasn't working. He was quick to respond to our call and he followed up to ensure that we were ok.

Overall, I would highly recommend this property especially if you have a large group and are looking for a reasonably priced accommodations. The house is not extravagant, but it has the necessities and they are clean and comfortable. We had a fantastic week as a family.

Thanks Rusty for opening your home to us!
