A traveler who fell in love with Buenos Aires and returns every year.
Sandy Foote purchased this condo in 2004
We fell in love with BA in 2003 and came back in 2004 to see if we could live there. We researched the neighborhoods we liked and happily settled on Barrio Norte in Palermo. We have been very happy with this area and all of its amenities.
Located on a quiet boulevard the apartment has restaurants, shops, bakeries, and clubs all within a few minutes. The subway is close by that links you to downtown and it is a great area for walking to many other areas such as Recoleta, Palermo Soho, Palermo Viejo and Abasto.
My wife and I stayed at Sandy's apartment in Palermo for 5 weeks. Our goal was to live in a local neighborhood and enjoy the lifestyle.
The apartment was great. It had everything we needed. Many places we stay at have a bare minimum of silverware, dishes, bedding etc but this place was really well stocked. Internet Wifi was high quality. There was just plenty of space there for 2 people to really feel at home.
We like to walk and were able to get to many locations by foot. If you prefer, it's 2 blocks from the Subte (metro) and there are buses galore (if you can work out the system!), plus taxis.
Lots of local restaurants and cafes. In 5 weeks there were only a couple we went to more than once, such was the choice.
Working with Sandy was easy and he gave of lots of local guidelines. His manager there, Marina, was fantastic too.
I I were going back to Buenos Aires (which I'd love to do) I would have no hesitation staying there again.
Our stay in the condo was excellent. The place was spotlessly clean when we arrived and the condo was stocked with everything we needed. We had such a good time; we are just sorry it had to end and we had to get back to reality/Canada. The location was just perfect and we were able to walk to so many places. Your maps and recommendations were very helpful and we are still talking about some of the meals we had! We have yet to lose the extra pounds we put on enjoying the wines, steaks, and ice-cream! We won't hesitate to recommend your condo to anyone travelling to Buenos Aires and we hope that someday it will again be us!
The owner Sandy Foote was amazing attentive to us. Any questions we had he answered promptly. The accommodations were in a lovely neighborhood close to the main metro line. We walk a lot so also took advantage of the location to go for lengthy walks - only 30 min to get downtown. Flower shop, coffee shop and a local patisserie were all right below us and there were 2 grocery stores very close by as well
I would recommend this place to both friends and family
This apartment suited us perfectly. It was ideally located for walking to lots of interesting restaurants and shopping areas.
The space inside was very comfortable with a/c and a complete well supplied kitchen.
The building was very secure with functional locks and doorman.
We would recommend this to any couple who want to spend some time in this beautiful city.
Clean, comfortable in a nice residential neighborhood. Always felt safe even when walking at night. Within walking distance to grocery stores, restaurants , and an easy two block walk to subway and shopping center.. Subway is easiest and cheapest way ( approx. 50 cents US per ride) to get around town and visit major tourist sites. Fedors provides details as to subway line and stations to get off at. Owners suggestions on places to visit,
restaurants etc.were great. Would suggest using taxis after 8:00PM Very reasonable La Boca district especially on a Sunday is a must. Martinez (across the street) is great for a relaxing cup od coffee ,breakfast or lunch.
Only negative , narrow open winding staircase to loft bedroom.
Would highly recommend this property for anyone planning to stay 3 days or more days in BS and wanting to get a feel for the local culture.
Hard to believe it has been almost a year since our trip to South America. After spending a couple of weeks in Patagonia, we really enjoyed having this wonderful apartment to call home for a week in Buenos Aires. There are lots of things to see here, great food, and a fun atmosphere. We were close to the subway and also to several bus routes. The apartment was perfect for our needs. We very much appreciated the air-conditioning since we were there in the summer. Marina met us and made us feel welcome right away. She had lots of great tips for things to see in the city and we followed her advice! Thanks so much for the tip on the Museo Evita, I am really glad we visited there! We enjoyed having a well stocked kitchen for cooking and lots of great restaurants nearby. The loft bedroom was quite comfortable and we were glad to have a bathroom in the loft area as well as a half bath on the main floor. One morning I enjoyed sitting out on the balcony to watch the schoolchildren having a parade on the way to the first day of school. One of the most fun things I remember about our trip was leaving behind 10 inches of snow in February 2015 and arriving to summertime! We would not hesitate to stay at this apartment again next time we come to Buenos Aires!
There are great restaurants and shops plus a number of Tango Clubs and other Music Clubs in the neighbourhood.
