Location, Location, Location

  • 5 of 5

We frequently rent properties through VRBO, and this is the most pleased we have been with any rental. The attention to detail that these owners have provided puts this property at the top of our list. From the beginning, the owner was a pleasure to communicate with, and he made sure that we were well-informed prior to our vacation. Our family of 5, including three kids (12, 10, and 2), really enjoyed everything about our stay.

The location of this property is central to everything! There is a Lowe’s grocery store, pharmacy, gas station, ABC store, and a wine and cheese shop only 1.5 miles down the road. There are also many good restaurants located a short distance from the house. We especially enjoyed Puerto Nuevo, The Painted Fish Cafe, Stonewalls, and The Pedalin Pig. It was a short drive to Sugar Mountain Ski Resort, Hawksnest Tubing, sledding at Beech Mountain, Grandfather Mountain, and Appalachian Ski Resort. The central location helped us pack a lot of activities into our vacation.

First and foremost, the pictures do not do this home justice. The house is located in a gorgeous gated community, and we loved that the owner had notified the guards of our arrival time. We were provided with a pass, so we could come and go during our stay.

We enjoyed breathtaking views of Grandfather Mountain through the large picturesque windows that run the span of the back of the house. You can enjoy the beautiful views from the kitchen, dining room, living room, and master bedroom. The deck is spacious and includes plenty of outdoor seating.

We enjoyed time by the fire every evening and loved that the stone fireplace sits up high and is set back, so our toddler was kept at a safe distance when playing in the living room. We all commented that the ample seating in the living room is extremely comfortable and is perfect for enjoying some family time.

There are so many things that we love about this property, but I would like to mention a few more things that really set this property apart from others.

Home is one level with no stairs to climb

Garage with remote access

Well-stocked kitchen

Updated appliances

Huge master bathroom shower

High quality bed linens, pillows, and towels

Huge closets in every bedroom

Digital cable with premium channels

WiFi that always worked well

Ample hot water

Washer and dryer

I am very thankful for the Klempners sharing their home with us. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

Beautiful and comfortable house in a great location

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here with our almost 1-year-old twins and had the best time. We love hiking with them, and took advantage of being central to so many great trails. The kitchen and living area were well stocked and comfortable. After putting the babies to bed each night we made dinner and relaxed by a fire. An extra bonus for us was that the fireplace was raised, so we didn't even have to worry about babyproofing. We will definitely be back. :)

Outstanding Family Thanksgiving Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Our 3 generation adult family of 6 stayed in the house the week of Thanksgiving. We found the place very charming, well appointed and clean. The living room is a very nice size with comfortable seating for more than our 6 people. An ample flat screen TV for us football junkies. Also a flat screen in two of the three bedrooms. The kitchen was well equipped and is large enough for multiple people. We all got good night's sleep on comfortable beds. The location is great with a spectacular view. We could almost reach out and touch Grand Father Mountain. The weather can be unpredictable in late November but we had mild clear weather. The wood burning fireplace added to the ambiance of the place. One of the weather high lights was the day after Thanksgiving after a light early morning mist we drove up to the top of the mountain ridge to the Linville Ridge golf course for some hiking. The mid morning sun broke out thru the mist and illuminated the ice crystals on all the trees; a fantastic scene in all directions. The location is ideal; a private community close to the ski slopes but away from the noise and crowds. Snow was being made but we did not ski. Close to two full function grocery stores; several good restaurants in the area and most any other store or service you might need in a small rural setting short of a shopping mall. Not to forget the ABC store in case you run short of Thanksgiving cheer. The owner was very easy to work with and accommodating.
