Jay Klempner, Owner purchased this house in 2006
We love the mountains and the many things to do.....all year round
Hiking, skiing, fishing, white water rafting, antique shopping, biking and much more.
Our 3 generation adult family of 6 stayed in the house the week of Thanksgiving. We found the place very charming, well appointed and clean. The living room is a very nice size with comfortable seating for more than our 6 people. An ample flat screen TV for us football junkies. Also a flat screen in two of the three bedrooms. The kitchen was well equipped and is large enough for multiple people. We all got good night's sleep on comfortable beds. The location is great with a spectacular view. We could almost reach out and touch Grand Father Mountain. The weather can be unpredictable in late November but we had mild clear weather. The wood burning fireplace added to the ambiance of the place. One of the weather high lights was the day after Thanksgiving after a light early morning mist we drove up to the top of the mountain ridge to the Linville Ridge golf course for some hiking. The mid morning sun broke out thru the mist and illuminated the ice crystals on all the trees; a fantastic scene in all directions. The location is ideal; a private community close to the ski slopes but away from the noise and crowds. Snow was being made but we did not ski. Close to two full function grocery stores; several good restaurants in the area and most any other store or service you might need in a small rural setting short of a shopping mall. Not to forget the ABC store in case you run short of Thanksgiving cheer. The owner was very easy to work with and accommodating.
This is the second time we have stayed here. Beautiful home and Mr. Klempner is always a pleasure to rent from. Thank you for the wonderful memories!
We spent our Thanksgiving holiday at this cozy Linville Ridge home. The development was gorgeous and the home was perfect for our family of 5. There is a beautiful view of Grandfather Mtn off the back of the house and it was so nice that the family room had such great seating for everyone!
We were able to cook our entire feast here with minimal pots and pans brought from home. The kitchen was well appointed. The owner was very accommodating and communicative during the entire trip. He answered questions I had about kitchen items so I could be prepared for cooking!
The only downside for our family was the internet situation. There was wifi, but it was not consistent for a family with multiple devices and didn't work more than it did. A college daughter working on a finals paper had to find a wifi cafe two days in a row. If wifi is not an issue for you, this house is 5 stars. The owner was very apologetic and has said he would be contacting his service provider.
Overall, we had a very relaxing and comfortable stay at this lovely home.
My husband and I were in Linville to help our good friends put on a rehearsal dinner and wedding for their son. Even though it rained the entire time we stayed here (due to hurricane Joaquin), it was a joy to come back each night to this cozy house. Having a warm fire each night was great!
This house met all of our needs in every way. We used the kitchen more than we had planned due to the weather and it had everything we needed to prepare meals. Having 3 beds AND 3 baths was a real bonus as we had friends staying with us for part of the week.
The owner responded quickly with every question I had from the time I booked the reservation until the day we went home.
We will definitely stay here again when we stay in the Linville area.

This was our third stay at the Linville Ridge property and will not be our last. The house is perfect for a couple or small family looking to spend some time in the mountains. The house is equipped with everything you need in the kitchen, great washer and dryer, lots of space and a comfy master bedroom/bath. The location is convenient to the main roads so it's easy to get around the area. I highly recommend this property! It's become our home away from home when in Linville.
We stayed at this lovely property for Spring Break 2015. It was just wonderful! First, the house itself has everything you could possibly need, ample kitchen space that is well-equipped, washer/dryer, plenty of bathrooms, and sleeping spaces. My girls (ages 21, 16 and 13) really like to have their own beds, and that was no problem at all. The deck was great with a beautiful view of Grandfather Mtn. The area is fantastic - lots of things to do. We enjoyed hiking, ziplining, lunch/shopping in Blowing Rock, just driving around and enjoying the lush scenery. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this little gem of a getaway!
