5 Stars-A real Gem!
So happy to have found this cottage!
First, the comfortable bed was like sleeping on a cloud. I have a medical back issue and I slept the best I've slept in years on this mattress.....I gotta buy one now. I actually woke up pain free, which never happens!!
The cottage is quiet, private and charming. Everything you need is there. The bathtub is deep with jets. Big t.v., great kitchen, wonderful patio. Closet space, overhead fan, good heater, all in all really comfortable-like having your own little house.
The owner, Ben, is very efficient and quick to respond to anything you may need. He wants to be sure you're happy and that everything is working in the unit...it all was!!
Close proximity to everything. I'm a former Marin resident, this cottage is centrally located to everything. Even San Francisco is close.
I will return, this time I will stay longer!
Nice place... old bedding and furniture
Nice spot but needs to put a few bucks into new bedding. Bedding was from the 90s. I also got bit by something multiple times on the neck while sleeping...took a week of itching to go away.
The bedding is only 4 months old & this is the first report of a insect bite. Upon inspection there are no insects, but it will be sprayed today.
Perfect zen house in a beautiful neighborhood.
The jacuzzi, BBQ grill, and sauna made my weekend the perfect zen house we were looking for. We booked for one day but ended up booking another day. The neighborhood is beautiful and has a park near by which works if you had a dog. This place is perfect for any couple and at a great price. It rained one night and we still got in the jacuzzi. It was amazing because the tree and all the plants and privacy made us feel like no one else was around us. Definitely would stay there again. Also the place was very clean!!!
Not impressed. From my 1st conversation the experience was disappointing. I inquired about the rental, I received a msg asking me to call. When I did. The owner was rude. He answered, "yah?" When I asked for him he said, "what do you want, I'm on another call." My fault for not hanging up and finding another place. When he realized I was a potential renter, he softened up--slightly & asked me to pay via PayPal instead of VBRO. Weird, but never used this site so figured it was the norm. When payment was confirmed, I asked for details: parking, entry, special things I should know. He told me to call back the day b4 my arrival. Ummm, okay. When I called again, it was more of the same. After identifying myself he said he has LOTS of rentals. What part of the state/city/country was I calling about. When we narrowed down San Rafael, CA, he wanted to know why I was calling. I told him I needed info about getting into the unit. He gave me his cell and told me to call the next day when we were half an hour out... so weird. As a coutesy, when we headed out I text him to give him an ETA of our arrival, which was about 6 hours later. We made a stop on the way which set us back a little so I text again with the update. About 3 hours later, the owner called and was very rude. He questioned HOW I got his cell number and WHY I was calling. He went on to explain that he doesn't turn his cell on. That he was out walking his dog... he chastised me for about a minute telling me NOT to call his cell. Just wow. Anyways, when we finally arrived, I called and we were told some pretty basic instructions about entry. He could have told me this from day one. There was no need for the back and forth. Then (yes, there's more) the place is so small. Not at all comfortable for more than one person and barely two. We had three. The pullout couch is butted up to the bed. In order to open the couch you have to move the small coffee table out to the kitchenette area. There's no room for all the (70's) furniture--especially with the HUGE tube TV in the same room. We tried to open the "curtains" only to realize there is no window. There was a door that didn't even open! There were no "amenities" to speak of. Coffee maker, no coffee. No fresh towels, needs a broom, no local area info. no hospitality. Needs extra linen...Jacuzzi/sauna/bbq are practically on top of each other. Yard was used for storage. Not a pleasant stay. Kept hearing noises from the main house. SPIDERS.
This review is very odd & I quite different than all other traveler's reviews. Unfortunately her text could not be received by a land line, as she was unaware of that. Her perception of rudeness is totally incorrect. Yes, I am on an option, that is allowed by the rental site, call "alternate billing", that allows me to collect the rental payment through PayPal; as I have been doing for the last 10 years. This traverler seemed very anxious & not easy to communicate with. I tried to answer her questions, but it seemed like she was having a bad day & there was nothing I could do that would please her. Her review is highly innacurate of our conversation.
Great place to stay!
Loved the whirlpool, the well-equipped kitchen, the privacy, and the convenience to stores and to the 101, making it easy to get anywhere we wanted.
Had a great mini vaca
We enjoyed ourselves alot, the hot tub was perfect size for two ppl, room was clean and sunny. Would definitely stay there again.
Side note ubereats has started operating out of that area so you can have sushi delivered at 8 at night or any place ubereats works with. I can't wait for it to come to Sonoma County so many options so easy to order. I had my driver bring me a dozen roses for my sweetie it made the trip.
Walking distance from the cinema, grocery, coffee shop, ice cream parlor, restaurant, bar at nearby hotel, mall and bus stops.
