Just a short distance (3/4 mile) to museums, shops, and restaurants on Saint George Street, our bungalow is convenient yet out-of-the-way enough to offer all the peace and quiet you need in a vacation getaway.

The practical three bedroom, 2 bath floor plan accommodates up to six overnight guests. The spacious living area, kitchen, and dining area provide a comfy 'home base' for you during your visit to St. Augustine – our nation’s oldest city.

Bedrooms: The practical 3 bedroom, 2 bath floor plan accommodates up to six overnight guests. The spacious living area, kitchen, and dining area provide a comfy 'home base' for you during your visit to St. Augustine – our nation’s oldest city.

The master suite is well equipped with a queen bed, a cozy reading area with a rocking chair and antique table, an inviting bathroom just through the double French doors, and a large tiled shower. The bedroom opens onto the back deck.

An antique double bed with a comfortable pillow-top mattress is the centerpiece of the guest bedroom. This room also has a large chest of drawers, bedside tables, and reading lamps.

The third 'bedroom' contains a futon which opens into a full size (double) bed. This room can double as a separate 'playroom' for children.

Kitchen & Living Areas: The modern kitchen is fully equipped, providing you the opportunity to cook meals on-site, rather than having to spend lots of money going out for all of your meals. A large Charmglow gas grill is located on the back deck for grilling your favorite steak, fish, or whatever the chef has in mind.

The dining area seats four and the table can be pulled out to comfortably seat 6. Extra chairs are available in the antique drop-leaf game table in the large entry hallway.

Christian’s Keep also has a full sized washer and dryer located in the laundry area – we provide all of the comforts of home! Why settle for just a hotel or a 'bed and breakfast inn'?

Come Immerse yourself in southern charm in your own historic cottage on Twine Street.

About John and Susan

We are empty-nesters who like to have a place to get away that is not too far from home. Historic St. Augustine is such a quaint town, and we fell in love with it the first time we visited with our kids over 20 years ago.

John and Susan purchased this house in 1996

Why John and Susan chose Lincolnville

We love the downtown St. Augustine historic area, and Christian's Keep is uniquely situated on a street which has many restored homes.

What makes this house unique

The way this home sits on the property affords ample off street parking for 3 to 4 cars, which is rare in downtown! It is perfect for wedding parties, or families arriving in separate cars.

Christian's Keep is also dog friendly, and we have a fully fenced back yard!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you for a sweet quiet little get-a-way. We loved our time here seeing the sights and enjoying all the history! Our bike ride to breakfast was awesome. Your'v done a beautiful job renovating this home.

My wife and I, along with our two "Westies" had a great time at Christian's Keep. The house felt like it was our own vacation home and the neighborhood was rich in history and wonderful people. Close enough to downtown to walk and far enough away from the maddening crowds for peace and solitude. Short 15 minute drive to Vilano Beach for the dogs to take a swim. We look foward to a return trip. Dick

The best place for a St. Augustine stay!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for six nights with our granddaughter and it was the best location. So close to the historic section and to the beach. We would usually do both each day. So nice to be in a neighborhood where we could walk our dog. Yes this a a dog-friendly home! Neighbors so friendly! One nice woman came out to see if I lived nearby because she had a yellow Lab too and had moved in not too long ago. I came back and said I made my first friend for when we moved here. Lol.

And the house was adorable. Great kitchen with wine and snacks waiting for us. Comfy beds-most important! And a porch with chairs and a glider to relax on after the beach. They also have a shed with bikes and beach chairs. We did take advantage of the beach chairs, but it was a bit too warm for bike riding and we also ran out of time. And the most magical thing on our last night when I came out for our last dog walk of the evening...the sound of horse hooves and creaking wheels. I looked around and there was a carriage heading home for the evening. I could just imagine how it must have been in days of old.

Thank you again, John and Susan, for sharing your lovely home. Do read the history of the home and take time to read about the historical significance of some of the homes in this area of St. Augustine as you walk or bike around and pretend to be a local. Loved it.

Quiet, comfortable lodging in the historic Lincolnville neighborhood of St. Augustine.

  • 4 of 5

My wife, two adult sons, and I just returned from our (4th of July) four-night stay at Christian's Keep. The home is much roomier than the photos let on, and is set back farther from the street than the adjacent houses which gives it a secluded feel. The updated kitchen is well appointed, has plenty of room to move around, and is open to the living room so the "togetherness factor" isn't diminished when it's time to cook. The master bedroom and bath, two bedrooms and hall bath are all grown-up sized and suited our needs perfectly.

Outside, the house is well maintained. There is a large gas grill on the back porch which was clean and it worked (worth mentioning because sometimes at rentals the gas grill is neither clean nor working.) Wear a little mosquito repellent and you're ready to enjoy the evening breeze on the front porch while watching the horse-drawn carriages return to their stables for the night.

The location is far enough from the touristy stuff so as to not feel the "crush," but close enough to the Ancient City that a scenic walk will get you there in twenty or so minutes. If you like to walk, and don't have any complainers in your group, I'd say you could do almost everything on foot from Christian's Keep, (but then, I like to walk) otherwise, it's a short drive to public parking or a trolley stop.

If you're looking for a quiet, grown-up, get away type of place with easy access to America's oldest city, Christian's Keep fits the bill perfectly.

Our family of 4 loved this restored home. After a day at the beach it was great to veg out and watch a movie before walking down George St. at night.

Perfect Location to Explore Historic St Augustine

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at Christian's Keep! We walked to all areas of historic district during our 10 day stay and enjoyed morning walks to the nearby park with our dog, Bailey. John and Susan we easy to work with and perfect hosts. They were flexible when we had to change our arrival day because of my Dad's unexpected Mayo Clinic visit 3 days prior to our scheduled visit. The house was well stocked and provided everything we needed. We especially enjoyed having a fenced yard. Hoping to stay again when visiting one of our favorite cities!
