Overview

Lincolnville House Rental Photos and Description

3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, sleeps 6 - a fully equipped renovated bungalow

Christian’s Keep is a quaint, comfortable bungalow in the historic Lincolnville District of St. Augustine. Originally built in 1930, and fully renovated in 2007 by Christian Voelkel, Christian’s Keep provides a great respite from the hustle and bustle of everyday life – nothing can beat the serenity and charm of this quiet neighborhood. Just a short distance (3/4 mile) to museums, shops, and restaurants on Saint George Street, our bungalow is convenient yet out-of-the-way enough to offer all the peace and quiet you need in a vacation getaway.

The practical three bedroom, 2 bath floor plan accommodates up to six overnight guests. The spacious living area, kitchen, and dining area provide a comfy 'home base' for you during your visit to St. Augustine – our nation’s oldest city.

Bedrooms: The practical 3 bedroom, 2 bath floor plan accommodates up to six overnight guests. The spacious living area, kitchen, and dining area provide a comfy 'home base' for you during your visit to St. Augustine – our nation’s oldest city.

The master suite is well equipped with a queen bed, a cozy reading area with a rocking chair and antique table, an inviting bathroom just through the double French doors, and a large tiled shower. The bedroom opens onto the back deck.

An antique double bed with a comfortable pillow-top mattress is the centerpiece of the guest bedroom. This room also has a large chest of drawers, bedside tables, and reading lamps.

The third 'bedroom' contains a futon which opens into a full size (double) bed. This room can double as a separate 'playroom' for children.

Kitchen & Living Areas: The modern kitchen is fully equipped, providing you the opportunity to cook meals on-site, rather than having to spend lots of money going out for all of your meals. A large Charmglow gas grill is located on the back deck for grilling your favorite steak, fish, or whatever the chef has in mind.

The dining area seats four and the table can be pulled out to comfortably seat 6. Extra chairs are available in the antique drop-leaf game table in the large entry hallway.

Christian’s Keep also has a full sized washer and dryer located in the laundry area – we provide all of the comforts of home! Why settle for just a hotel or a 'bed and breakfast inn'?

Come Immerse yourself in southern charm in your own historic cottage on Twine Street.

About John and Susan

We are empty-nesters who like to have a place to get away that is not too far from home. Historic St. Augustine is such a quaint town, and we fell in love with it the first time we visited with our kids over 20 years ago.

John and Susan purchased this house in 1996

Why John and Susan chose St. Augustine

We love the downtown St. Augustine historic area, and Christian's Keep is uniquely situated on a street which has many restored homes.

What makes this house unique

The way this home sits on the property affords ample off street parking for 3 to 4 cars, which is rare in downtown! It is perfect for wedding parties, or families arriving in separate cars.

Christian's Keep is also dog friendly, and we have a fully fenced back yard!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you for a sweet quiet little get-a-way. We loved our time here seeing the sights and enjoying all the history! Our bike ride to breakfast was awesome. Your'v done a beautiful job renovating this home.

Quaint house in download St. Augustine!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful trip to St. Augustine, thanks to this beautiful house! It was conveniently located close to Flagler College, the downtown district, and all of the "must-do" things in St Augustine. All of the amenities of the house worked 100% as advertised and the house was in perfect condition when we arrived. 10/10 if we ever plan another trip to St. Augustine, we will definitely try to book this one if available!

Outstanding!!!!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I, along with our two "Westies" had a great time at Christian's Keep. The house felt like it was our own vacation home and the neighborhood was rich in history and wonderful people. Close enough to downtown to walk and far enough away from the maddening crowds for peace and solitude. Short 15 minute drive to Vilano Beach for the dogs to take a swim. We look foward to a return trip. Dick

CUTE AND HOMEY COTTAGE

  • 5 of 5

WAS A PERFECT FIT FOR OUR LITTLE FAMILY. VERY COMFORTABLE AND WE ESPECIALLY LOVED RIDING OUR BIKES TO CRAVE AND INTO DOWNTOWN FOR DRINKS AND APPS. THE NEIGHBORHOOD IS UNDERGOING A CLEAN UP AND EVERYTHING WAS QUIET AND QUAINT. WE RODE OUR BIKES TO THE BLUE HEN FOR BREAKFAST AND LOVED THE BAR AT THE DISTILLERY. ASK FOR JOEL!! THIS WAS A MID POINT STOP FOR US TO VISIT FRIENDS ON OUR WAY HOME FROM THE KEYS. IT BROKE UP THE LONG RIDE BACK TO OBX AND WE WILL DEFINATLY RETURN AGAIN!!

Christian's Keep January Stay

  • 4 of 5

Our experience was very enjoyable. House was warm and cozy while we were there as we experienced some very cold weather. Enjoyed being able to cook out on the large gas grill. Only downside was that since we were inside more than we anticipated, there was a somewhat limited TV channel selection available. Overall however we enjoyed our stay very much.

We love Christian's Keep

  • 5 of 5

This was our second year staying at Christian's Keep and we love it.

We visit St. Augustine with another couple every December, and we've decided that staying at Christian's Keep needs to be part of our annual tradition.

We all highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a cozy "home away from home" in St. Augustine.
