Lake Cowichan is the second largest body of fresh water on Vancouver Island, BC at over 30 km in length. The lake is located 20 minutes (31 kilometers) west of Duncan along Highway 18. The pristine blue waters and sun drenched beaches of Cowichan Lake offer water skiing, wake boarding, tubing, swimming, wind surfing and canoeing.

Our Lake House is located just 1 km outside of Youbou and offers you incredible lakefront living in this 3500 sq/ft six bedroom walkout.

Cowichan (Quw'utsun') means 'land warmed by the sun'.

In the Cowichan Valley rolling mountains, undulating rivers and pristine lakes come together to form the backdrop of the Cowichan; a place of incredible beauty, timeless traditions and tidal rhythms. Nestled between the bustling cities of Victoria to the South and Nanaimo to the North, the Cowichan Valley offers a wide choice of things to see and do throughout the year, from exploring the wine country trails, to unforgettable fishing, kayaking, hiking and golfing adventures.

All of our beds have top quality plush mattresses to ensure a good nights sleep

Master bedroom has a king bed, walk in closet, iPod ready clock radio and master bathroom with double sinks. The master bedroom windows overlook the lake.

Three other bedrooms upstairs have queen beds and a shared full bathroom.

There are two bedrooms in the basement, one with a queen bed and a fabulous view of the lake and one with two double/single bunk beds.

About Tim Goshulak

My wife Brenda and I love being near water. We fell in love with this beautiful lake the first time we came here.

Tim Goshulak purchased this house in 2009

Why Tim Goshulak chose British Columbia

After vacationing in the area we realized we had found a hidden gem. The water is so clean and clear and compared to most lakes in the summer there is lots of room for water sports. We have the feeling of being secluded but are only an hour from Victoria.

What makes this house unique

We love spending time on the dock and the beach while the kids play in the water.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We have just returned from a fabulous time staying at Tim & Brendas lovely house on Lake Cowichan. We were staying there with our friends so 9 of us lived very comfortably. The children enjoyed the canoe & rowing boatthat belonged to the house. They tried to catch fish off the deck while the adults enjoyed the sun. We had some great BBQs sitting around the firepit. We would like to thank Tim for allowing us to stay an extra 9 days while we were stuck due to the volcanic ash cloud. I would thoroughly recommend a visit to this house & can't wait to return to see it in the summer.

Such a perfect place!

  • 5 of 5

We (7 adults + 3 kindergartners) had a wonderful getaway for the kids' spring break. Plenty of rooms in the house and all of them are nice and clean. The whole property is very well kept, renovated and the outside patio is just fabulous. The deck to Cowichan lake is a nice fishing spot for us and all the kids had great time there - even they caught nothing :D

Owner Tim is very nice and helpful on all kinds of information. The only downside is that we couldn't spend more time there!

Amazing property on a beautiful lake!

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic weekend! Thanks so much for renting your house to us. It was fabulous. We loved the outdoor patio and the spaciousness of the house with all the bedrooms and room for us all to sit around the dining room table and in the living room. We did enjoy using the outside heaters and the lit up canoe above the table is so cool! The house is immaculate and we very much appreciated how clean it was.

The power did go out from 11:40 am-11:00 pm on Saturday so that was a bit tricky to not have power for almost 10 hours. The housekeeper was great and very helpful. She brought us over some matches and some more candles plus a bottle of wine! We figured out how to cook our casserole on the bbq outside so we didn't starve. We had brought up wood so we had a fire in the firepit outside with an fantastic view of the lake before it started to snow. We did have an amazing time despite the weather and the power outage. You have a very lovely, welcoming home. We would definitely rent it again. I can just imagine how amazing it would be in the summer with that fantastic patio! Also, thanks for returning the deposit so fast (the very next day).

Great Accommodation In A Beautiful Location!

  • 5 of 5

This was a perfect house for our annual girl's getaway. Lots of room for our group of 10 which included comfy beds for everyone. Amazing view off the deck and easy access to the dock on gorgeous Lake Cowichan below. The house was clean with plenty of comfortable seating for lounging and relaxing. Tim was an excellent host, helpful and accommodating. We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful location. We hope to be back!

Perfect pre Christmas get away

  • 5 of 5

I booked this property as sort of a reunion for my self and a group of all our closest friends and it was the perfect spot. The property is very well kept, the bedrooms are large and quiet and the kitchen is very well Equipped! They even have a slow cooker, pulled pork! The outdoor patios/decks have heat laps too so you can still enjoy them even when it's snowing...

Great House, Great Location

  • 5 of 5

This is a quality property, well maintained, with a lot of privacy and amazing views of the Lake Cowichan.

We spent a lot of time outdoors on the large deck, which looked new and had a built in BBQ. Plenty of deck furniture and a short walk down to the dock. We brought our own speed boat that we launched at Coichan and brought around, but there were canoes and paddle boats provided. We had 5 adults and 2 grandchildren in the party, and there was a lot of room. It was particularly good that the grandchildren and their parents could occupy the lower floor, and the rest the upper, so that the kids would not disturb the other adults at 6am!

Everyone was quickly relaxed and 'at home' and the general view is that we would use this house again if we visited the Lake Cowichan area.
