'Sweet Ting' is a lovely guest cottage, situated on a 2 1/2 acre waterfront villa located in Hartswell, Exuma. The studio style cottage has a private entrance and parking area along with wrap around decking. The loft cottage, which is tiled throughout, has 15' high peaked cypress ceilings The kitchen, dining and living spaces are separated by a movable privacy screen. You have a choice of using the air-conditioning or opening up to the lovely island breezes.
At the water's edge, you will find the pristine blue-green gin-clear waters which have made Exuma the yachting capitol of the Western hemisphere. KAYAKS are available for guests, allowing exploration of sand banks of the Bahamas National Trust park at Moriah Harbour Cay which is located directly across from the property Whether you are FISHING from the DOCK or BONE-FISHING on the flats, SNORKELING , or SWIMMING , it is all available by lovely meandering paths from the cottage and through the villa gardens.
The property location is directly across from the eastern end of Moriah Harbor Cay, accessible in minutes by kayaks. The bonefish flats are directly opposite the property and a few minutes more of paddling brings you to the most beautiful, pristine and quite often deserted beach for walking, running or swimming You can also grab the umbrella and some lunch and just spend the day, imagining you are on a deserted island with not a care in the world - your very own private oasis.
Swimming, snorkelling and fishing are just a few of the things that can be done right from the private dock
of 'Done Reach'. From the hilltop deck, you can view those who enjoy bonefishing, kiteboarding or
kayaking. Arrangements can be made for bonefish guides or kiteboard lessons. If you choose not to participate but to be a spectator,
pull up a deck chair and just enjoy the spectacular view.
The owner of the property welcomes any questions and is happy to be of assistance.
Will be happy to provide French or Italian speaking person with any detailed questions.
My life has been split between Boston and Bahamas for many years. I grew up on the south shore of Boston, living by the sea and in my later years, found Exuma, felt very much connected to the island and people and eventually built another beautiful home, of course by the sea, with one of the most beautiful views you would ever expect to see.
Johanna stella purchased this cottage in 1997
"Done Reach Villa" is situated on 2 1/2 acres of land which goes from the road to the sea. The main house is situated on the top of the ridge and the views are fantastic. "Sweet Ting" Guest Cottage is situated on a bit lower ground, and feels somewhat like you are living in a lovely tree house, surrounded by native trees and plants, but there are glimpses of that beautiful water through the trees. It is just an enticement to take the few steps up to the hilltop deck where you can sit, enjoy morning coffee or sunset cocktails while looking at the amazing view.
My wife and I couldn't have asked for anything better. Johanna was a great host, made sure we had all we needed, and was very accommodating. The cottage itself was spacious, clean and charming. The location was peaceful, only a 15 minute drive from Georgetown and has fantastic views (especially from the upper deck - great spot for breakfast!). Best food we had on the island was at Santana's, which is a 15 min drive from the cottage. Our most memorable time in Exuma was spent kayaking from the cottage over across the bay to explore the pristine beaches and sandbars at low tide - that was just amazing! Johanna's beautiful dog (Lucky) will be the first to greet you on arrival! Extremely friendly and quiet dog who would sit outside the cottage door waiting for us to let him in! (his favourite spot is on the couch!). We would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone visiting Exuma. Wished we stayed longer, would love to return one day! Thank you Johanna!
Loved the property--the deck with its views, the hammock near the water, and the private dock to lounge on. The cottage was great--not too small, not to big, and very clean. We used the kayak to get to the sandbar across the way. And best of all we made friends with the dog Lucky! He was the perfect companion!
This beautiful guest cottage is the subject of many wholly complimentary reviews which, without exception, extol its many virtues, together with those of the astonishingly beautiful surroundings within which it is set and, of course too, of Johanna, its owner who, without qualification, it was a privilege to meet. Without reservation, our entire stay was a joy and perfect in every respect and it is easy to endorse fully all of the treats that await you should you visit, that have been detailed in other reviews. What I would like to emphasise personally is the immediate and sustained feeling of friendship and welcome that we experienced from Johanna from the first hugs of greeting as we parked in the drive to the sad time of our departure two weeks later. This was wholly genuine. We were not simply tenants. We were more than guests even. We were made to feel wholeheartedly welcome, that our being there was a true pleasure for Johanna herself and, as such, that we were very much part of the "family". These personal qualities seemed to spread out around us, extend into the fabric of the property and its unique setting, and they gave us a holiday experience full of memories to cherish. Will be be back? No contest. Yes please!

Stunning Views from this property. Moriah key, is breathtaking. Unit is clean, comfortable, and feels like home...in paradise. Johanna (owner) is friendly, helpful, and a pleasure to speak with. I highly recommend visiting this rental.
My husband and I just spent a beautiful 10 days in this lovely cottage. It's a very warm, cozy spot with gorgeous views from atop the hillside where there are chairs to sit and enjoy the view and the breezes. Unfortunately, my husband got the flu while we were there and was in bed for three days, but I was able to enjoy the dock - sunning, reading & drinking a few Kalik beers. The owner's dog, Lucky, was good company in those down days. Johanna is a lovely person, who took me under her wing while my husband was down. She took me into Georgetown for some grocery shopping and showed me some beautiful beaches we had not seen on our previous trip to Exuma. We shared some wine and good conversation a couple of nights as well, which helped the time to pass while my husband was sick. We still managed to rent a boat from Minn's one day (highly recommend), made it to the beach a few times, and over to Chat & Chill. It's a lovely island - peaceful and quiet. I would highly recommend this lovely cottage for a couple's home base. Managed to still have a good time, despite the sickness.
My husband & I were fortunate to spend a week at Johanna's lovely cottage. It was so relaxing & peaceful exactly what we were looking for an anniversary getaway. Johanna was a treat to deal with & had answers to any questions we may have had. The cottage was well equipped & had all you would need. We spent a few nights in barbecuing & cooking, but also enjoyed the evenings we would be out. Like everyone has commented on, Lucky & Sophie were a special treat & we loved having them around. Another added bonus was Edmond, Johanna's caretaker, he was always available if we had any questions or recommendations. A wonderful guy! Exuma's beaches are spectacular, like nothing we've ever seen before. Tropic of Cancer, Forbes Hill, Hooper's Bay, Jolly Hall & even one we discovered on our own were unbelievable. We look forward to returning some day, sooner than later we hope. Thank you again Johanna.
'Sweet Ting' Guest Cottage is located on a 2 1/2 acre villa which overlooks a magnificent sight of cays, ocean, wild life and lovely gardens. The guest cottage (feels like a treehouse), is perfect for young couples looking for a romantic holiday getaway or a quiet retreat from life's stress. Artists will find inspiration to write or paint. There is a wonderful view of the sea and cays from the hillside deck, available for the guests of the cottage. From the cottage, a pathway leads to the water's edge for snorkeling, swimming and kayaking or climbing into the hammock with a good book. Directly in front of the property is spectacular view of Moriah Harbor Cay, part of the Exuma land and sea park with pristine deserted beaches. Tennis, scuba diving, kiteboarding to name only a few of the activities available in Exuma. The island center, where all your shopping, banking needs will be met, is located only 9 miles from the cottage.
Other Activities: Bonefishing, snorkeling, kayaking and birdwatching are activiites that can be done right from the property. Kiteboarding is enjoyed within minutes on Moriah Harbor Cay - directly across from the property. From GeorgeTown (9 miles), you can rent a boat which will allow you to explore beautiful Elizabeth Harbor - a must see is Stocking Island, Chat n Chill and also there are some lovely reefs you will want to see.
A most memorable day trip is traveling through the Exuma chain of islands on a chartered boat. It is a fantastic day trip where you will see the swimming pigs and iguanas, swim with the sharks, snorkel Thunderball Cave and enjoy seeing the homes of the rich and famous. While there are all these various activities, some days are just made for lounging on the cottage deck, the hilltop deck, or take the path to the water's edge, where you can fish from the dock or take a snooze in the hammock. It is all available when you stay at 'Sweet Ting' Guest Cottage.
