About David Stuit
Beth sitting on Seawall in Kona
David Stuit purchased this Studio in 2007
Why David Stuit chose Honaunau-Napoopoo
My wife Beth grew up in Malibu, California and has always wanted to return to the ocean so when we visited friends here in the Spring of 2007 we both fell in love with the South Kona area and after much web looking we found this place. The rest is history
What makes this Studio unique
We are very well located for those who love to snorkel and kayak and for these day trips to Volcano Park, South Point or Hilo. We are within 2 hours of any where else on the Island.

We loved our 8 days with Dave and Beth. They are so friendly and helpful . Everything from helping us find the rental jeep to great local beach tips to making us feel at home in their home. The rental unit has everything you could possibly need..We loved the rural location and pool Hopefully we can come see them again .Mahalo Dave and Beth
Stay at the home of your artist friend who gives you your personal space
If you are looking for a resort experience, this is not the place for you. There is no reason to dress fancy while you’re here, and nobody is going to make a cocktail for you unless your sweetheart does it. But if you think you would love to stay with a friend who has a separate unit, who knows you so well that they have thought of everything that you might need, and who gives you as much privacy and personal space as you could want, you should seriously consider coming here. You can still drive 20 minutes to the resorts and dress up for cocktail hour if you want, but you don’t have to. Instead you can walk to the macadamia nut farms, drive or bike down to two step beach or up to the fruitstand, shop in the nearby towns (I liked Kainaliu the most!), and tour the Kona coffee plantations. Easy to kayak or snorkel daily if you would like! Highly recommended.
My wife and I loved our time in Beth's Hideaway! We loved falling asleep to the sounds of the tree frogs - it felt like we were far away from civilization, yet in a great place. Dave and Beth were wonderful hosts. From the fresh fruit to the free use of kayaks and snorkeling equipment, they were accommodating and welcoming. We highly recommend.
The best location on the Big Island!
I always come back here and love it more every time. It’s beautiful and peaceful. The bed has dreamy linens and is so comfortable that I sleep better here than at home. I can hop out of bed, make a quick cup of yummy Kona coffee, put on my suit and be snorkeling at Honaunau (Two Steps) in 10 minutes. Wild dolphins were in the bay this last visit for an hour ... spinning, cruising and hanging out! What a thrill! Evenings at Pu’u Honua O’Honaunau National Park, exploring tide pools and watching the sunset with a picnic dinner are the best! Why go to a noisy restaurant when you can set your chair in the lava moon pools and feel the waves as the sun goes down. Enjoy the pool when you need to cool off and read a book. It’s well situated to go to other nearby beaches like Hookena and Honomalino. You’re close enough for a day trip to the volcano or snorkeling at Kapoho Marine Reserve near Pahoa. But the best part of the experience is the genuine kindness and Aloha you feel from hosts Beth and Dave!
There’s such an air of ease and comfort about this place. You can just tell that the owners love I and truly want their guests to have a wonderful experience. It’s well furnished, beautifully located, and I highly recommend it
