Thank you very much for your lovely house for a wonderful family reunion. Your house was perfect for it. We all had a lot of fun.
Accommodation is In a very nice area with Easy access to motorway. The accommodation also comes with access to a private swimming pool & tennis court just across the road.
The accommodation itself is in need of some modernization, and will compare with a 3 star hotel in comfort. However the space by far make up for any shortcoming. There are 3 spacious sitting rooms, a big dinning room, a bar, large garden with a hot tub, and a spectacular view of LA from the garden. We had a Nos of kids in our party and the space Came in very handy
We had a group stay here and recognized that we had booked an old property (it is around 40 years old and furnished accordingly) but the view interested us. We didn't realize the view was of San Fernando Valley not Los Angeles - as the property faces north. Local grocery and food outlets were good and handy - as was the pool across the road (the pool isn't on the property). We didn't find it well stocked for the number of rooms/people - not enough towels, sheets, pillows so we had to keep washing the towels (from swimming) as it was super hot. The kitchen needs updating. The dishwasher drawer wasn't on rollers and kept coming out. The cupboards didn't shut properly. Not enough bowls and pots to cook with. Very small and old oven and not enough oven roasting or cooking trays to cook larger meals for the group. It was very hot upstairs in the bedrooms - there are free standing fans as the old air con system just doesn't cool the whole house. We just squeezed our two vans into the small driveway but other cars can park on the road. The lounge sofabed is in a nice large room but it is right off the front door (no walls in between) and there are no curtains on the windows and it is only meters from the street/footpath. So our group member who slept on the sofa-bed had absolutely NO privacy at all. Positives were that it was clean and ready when we arrived - and for the price it was a good deal. It took us about 35 minutes to get into town (Wilshire Blvd) going into LA during peak times - but coming back on the 405 in peak times is a nightmare. Takes over 1.5 hours at a crawl! We probably would not come back and use this property again - but if you are looking for a bargain for the price and are willing to forgo a few things this property will probably work for you
The house was amazing. It was everything that the property description and Francesca said it would be. The view was spectacular. My family really enjoyed staying here and we able to comfortably accommodate everyone. I didn't was to leave and if I need a large place in the future I will definitely be back. In fact, whether I need that much room or not, I will look to rent the house again. Thank you Francesca for being a great owner and handling our little emergency (we locked ourselves out of the house on graduation day) so easily.
This is a beautiful house. We rented the house for one week to attend my son's wedding, the house was perfect, it comfortably accommodated all my family and more. The view is out of this world, the rooms very spacious, the furniture and decor was very elegant. We enjoyed entertaining our guests. We stayed for one week but would have looked to stay longer. Definitely recommend this house if you are planning large gatherings. Thanks Francesca.
12 of us (three families) stayed at this lovely home while in the L.A. area for a family wedding. The photos do not do the view justice! While it's not the newest home, nor the most fancy, this spacious property in a beautiful, safe neighborhood offers lots of room to relax and the most stunning view around! Beds were fine, with the master bedroom offering lots of room. "2nd master" bedroom also nice. Good smaller rooms for kids and a convenient lower level bedroom as well. Enough linens and towels for all of us. Good size dining room table sat us all for dinner. We cooked several nice meals during the week and breakfast every day. Washing machine was quirky (would stop and have to be restarted several times during the week) but was so nice to be able to do laundry. The central air worked well (it got into the mid 80's most days) and there is never-ending hot water for showers (very appreciated!)
Plenty of parking (we rented three cars and had room for more, with a 2-car driveway and plenty of curbside parking.) Flat-screen TV's with satellite TV (my brother-in-law was able to watch his soccer match and was thrilled!) and desktop computer with wireless internet let us all stay connected.
Now let's talk about the outside...this is what makes this place gold. The deck is older but so spacious...and the view...the view! Lots of room and tables outside on the large patio and deck. Incredible scenery, and tons of space. We had the family (roughly 30) over for a backyard BBQ 2 days after the wedding and everybody raved about the place. Apparently we hit the jackpot out of all the rentals everybody had reserved. We used the charcoal grill and fed the crowd...lots of room for all for cocktails outside, then we sat around the awesome gas-fired outdoor firepit and enjoyed company for an extended time. The hot tub is old but functional. I picked up chlorine shock and sanitizer at a local pool company and we had a nice soak most nights. Very relaxing.
Francesca was wonderful. She met us at the home when we arrived and gave us a quick once-over. She was available locally if needed without being obtrusive in any way.
Overall, if you're looking for a large home with lots of space and an incredible view, this is it. If you're looking for the Ritz-Carlton, look elsewhere. This is a well-loved, relaxed home that offers so much value that we felt like we hit the lottery. Thanks again for a wonderful week in California, Francesca!
This house was the perfect fit for my family. We were doing all the flowers for my Son's Wedding and we had ample room to set up long tables to design and there are two refrigerators, so one was use strictly for flowers. The beds are ALL comfortable. The neighborhood is peaceful. The deck, hot tub and views are spectacular. We had a large after wedding BBQ and everyone was in awe at the night view and ample space this home offers.. Love, love, love this home away from home.
