1 Bdr rental located on the west end of downtown San Rafael. Close to the city, yet surrounded by nature on a large, tree-lined lot overlooking the valley toward San Rafael Hill. This is a large unit in a duplex-style building located in a quiet neighborhood on a sunny, fog-free ridgeline.
Just a short 5-min. drive brings you to Hwy. 101, with San Francisco another 10 min. away. Centrally located in Marin, you'll be within quick reach of all the activities offered by the Bay Area. Public transit stops are 2 blocks away, with central San Rafael just a couple of blocks more.
Unit is fully equipped, with modernized kitchen and bath, new forced-air heater, new carpet, and a southeast-facing deck which has direct sunlight most of the day. There is laundry on-site, and easy street parking. There may also a lower-priced unit available, similar amenities and view.
We spent a fun busy month plus at Beth's lovely apartment in San Rafael. We wanted to see the all the fun sights around San Francisco and have a place to rest after the busy hectic day of being tourists and this cozy apartment fit the bill perfectly - comfy and cool with everything you would need for your stay. Loved the fact that we had real cable with HBO!!
There was so much to do around the San Francisco bay area - we went non stop and loved that there were plenty of great restaurants close to our apartment!! Would definitely recommend this to fellow travelers!!!
We loved staying in this roomy apartment in San Rafael just off the highway and close to San Francisco, Wine Country, Muir Woods and Point Reyes. There's a lot of great restaurants in the area as well. (check out Sol Food and Ill David). The neighborhood was nice and quiet with a great balcony that we could see the local birds up close and were even visted by a deer. The towels were nice and comfy and linens very soft. The owner was very accessible and answered all our questions. I'd highly recommend staying here!
Stayed during the week of September 12th for seven nights and thought it was a wonderful, homey, comfortable base for our Northern California exploring. The pictures and descriptions are accurate and there were no surprises. The apartment is clean and sems well maintained - big fluffy towels in the bath were great. Laundry was so convenient to have on premise. There was no iron or hairdryer (not a huge deal), and no place to put our suitcases in the bedroom (i.e. no dressers and no luggage stands)so that was a little inconvenient but also not a big deal. On the whole it is a very quiet and serene neighborhood . The best part of each day was coming back and sitting on the deck with a cocktail and watching the sun set colors on the hills surrounding the area. I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to see the Bay area. We covered a lot of ground from SF and Muir Woods to Mendocino and Napa and were very happy to come "home" to this great spot at night. I would recommend the Mendocino Cafe for eating - it was fab. We also enjoyed the walk from near the end of Seacliff to the Cliff House where we had a nice brunch. The walk takes you past some gorgeous views of just outside the bay and GG bridge. Marina park in SF is a great place to watch the wind surfers, sailboat racers, etc. Tiburon was lovely also. If you go to Napa/Sonoma defintely go to Darioush and James Cole Wineries, and DO NOT MISS Ferrari-Carano - just beautiful.
My wife and I stayed here for five days while visiting our children, who live nearby. The apartment is bright and sunny, very clean, with great linens and convenient parking in a quiet neighborhood on the western edge of San Rafael. It is perfect for two people. You can get on 101 to go to San Francisco, or head to the beach or wine country. If you go, be sure to visit Point Reyes.
We are Canadian seniors very pleased with our three weeks enjoyable stay in this comfortable and well furnished appartment in a quiet residential neighborhood of San Rafael. The property is well located enabling us to visit San Francisco just 15 minutes to the Golden Gate Bridge and 5 minutes to catch the Larkspur ferry to downtown SF Pier1 / Fisherman's Wharf. Sonoma and Napa Valley wineries are only 20 minutes away to enjoy excellent wines tasting. Food stores and good restaurants are nearby. After a long day sightseeing the coast and the redwood forest, we have appreciated coming back to the conveniences of the appartment and for a relax evening stay at home in a bright, open and spacious living room / fully equipped kitchen with a nice view overlooking the valley. Fluffy towels and soft bed sheets have added to the pleasures of living in this cozy environment. The owner was very easy to contact and promptly responsive to our queries. We highly recommend this great rental for your next visit to the Bay area.
