About Laura Weaver

Contact the owner, Laura Lee Weaver. I am a licensed Realtor in Illinois, and own this as a second home.

Laura Weaver purchased this house in 2002

Why Laura Weaver chose Southwest Michigan

I have been coming to Harbor Country for 30 years. It is my very favorite place, and Lake Michigan is my favorite body of water, from all of my travels. Lake Michigan has an interesting coastal line, with clean, sandy beaches. There's a huge state park...Warren Dunes State Park...within 10 minutes...great for many reasons, especially hiking, and adventure walks. The art galleries are numerous and fantastic. There are a variety of restaurants. Most of all, it is an extremely relaxing's like going back in time.

What makes this house unique

The new FOUR WINDS Casino is a combination of Wisconsin Dells meets Las Vegas (10 minutes away). Plus, there BLUE CHIP Casino, which is approx 15 min away. Most visitors spend hours on the beach (best to bring your own beach chairs and beach towels). The sunsets are fabulous and not to be missed. This area of Michigan has a lot of vineyards, so it's fun to take a wine tour in your car...just don't drink too much!! When you go right from my driveway, you are 350 steps from the beach entrance...if you go left from my driveway, you are 500 steps from cute shops with ice cream, liquor, sandwiches, coffee, everyday items, bakery, restaurant, bike/beach gear rental, and more... I have the perfect location because, even though you're close to all that great stuff, my home has a very private, secluded, quiet location. I love my house, and I know you will too!! (P.S. I personally clean every room from top-to-bottom, every year, and have a very 'particular' cleaning team, that keeps everything tip-top!!)

Absolutely beautiful! Loved all the extras and beautiful furnishings. Just need to be more specific about distance to the beach.

We just came back from a wonderfully restful and fun week at 'A BLUE MOON.' The home is so comfortable, with plenty of space and yet a cozy, warm feel with relaxing touches all around. Extremely CLEAN!. Our family enjoyed the area beach life ( 1/2 block away, as well as Warren Dunes, St. Joe, New Buffalo and Michigan City).Since we like to cook, we had a complete kitchen with everything we needed for preparing and serving our meals. Coffee shops, restaurants all close by. The home is very PRIVATE, with a beautiful appreciation of the wooded landscape, wildlife, many birds and an overall peaceful setting. Beautiful area to go on long, interesting walks with a variety of historic homes and newer properties as well. You can also easily walk to the beach, and just relax. The owner has a great collection of books, games and movies as well. She is quick to respond to any questions and delivers on everything promised in the description. Highly recommend !! Will be back!

Union Pier....a Michigan Vacation Made of Lifelong Memories

  • 5 of 5

My first observation of this Charming Home was the ease and closeness of putting my Toes in the Magnificent Lake Michigan. The Home if located in the Mountains or on a Golf Course would be equally inviting but with the proximity to Lake Michigan makes it the more enticing. The homes ementities such as the full service kitchen and romantic bedrooms on the upper floor are designed for peaceful and relaxing moments to be forever remembered as Once in a Lifetime Vacation Experience.

Already counting the days until our return. This house is perfect. You can definitely tell the owner cares a lot about details, nothing is missed. Very comfortable with nice furniture. Cute screened in porch with seating area, had my coffee out there every morning. Deck off Master Bdrm watched stars at night. Saw deer and bunnies. Beautiful flowers around the property. 1 block to beautiful beach, easy to run back and fourth without needing a car. Great restaurants in the area. Cute local store within walking distance from the house to pick up odds and ends. Nice having the Weber grill to cook out. Thanks again for the use of all the beach gear in the shed. Great home and would highly recommend for the area.

Blue Moon Vacation Labor Day weekend 2013

  • 4 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at Blue Moon. The house was nicely decorated with plenty of comfy chairs and a fully equipped kitchen. The bedroom configuration worked well for our party of four- the master for me and my husband and one bedroom each for our daughter and girl friend. For our needs it would have felt tight with more people.

The location was great- easy access to the beautiful beach, great for swimming. Also only a few miles to the Amtrak station in New Buffalo, which was perfect for the girls coming in from Chicago. Being tucked in the woods made for a very quiet and restful weekend. We lucked out and had great weather, but the house is well equipped with movies and games if the weather forces you inside.

I think this rental is a great value.

UNION PIER is ideally located! Short drive to downtown New Buffalo (the largest town in the area); walking distance to ice cream shop, restaurants, beach equipment/bike rentals, wine shop, deli, convenience store. You can hear the Lake Michigan waves (when they are large) from our house, since we are only 350 paces to the Lake entrance.

Those 21 and older, can follow the "wine trail", as there are approximately 23 wineries in the general area, and 2 casinos...FOUR WINDS (The Dells meets Vegas), and BLUE CHIP (smaller but powerful! in Michigan City).
