Short walk to public access to long and sandy Moody Beach (the private, northern end of Ogunquit Beach). High ratio of living area to bedrooms. Third bedroom is in separate outbuilding. Enclosed porch. Deck on south side. Play in the surf or sand. Walk to Ogunquit -- or, for the ambitious -- walk to Perkins Cove and along the famous Marginal Way. Or follow the ocean to the north and spend a few hours on the jetty at Wells Harbor, watching for seals. Only 90 minutes from Boston and 45 minutes from Portland, the cottage is a great base from which to enjoy the local arts festivals, concerts, miniature gold. Try birdwatching at the Laudholm Farm preserve. It's also a great place to just sit and read and enjoy the wind in the pine trees.

This is a genuine classic New England beach house. Not too fancy but comfortable and roomy.
We had a great stay. The house is close to the beach and the owner was great to work with. We'll be back!
I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay at Twin Pines. Comfortable is what it aims to be. And in a crowded area, we treasure the space that the extra pine-treed lot provides on the south side.
Very old 1950's cabin
The bad: nothing has been updated in this house. The dishes, the silverware, the beds, the furniture is all 1950s. Things have not been updated and have been kept in poor repair. One of the stove burners falls through into the stovetop creating a potential fire hazard. Outdoor grill has a broken leg presenting anither fire hazard. There were no utensils for the grill. The furniture is not comfortable. Neither are the beds.
The good: it is very close to a gorgeous beach. You can hear the waves from the house. The access to the beach is only four houses down. It's in a nice location for all the Ogunquit Wells area has to offer.
We were able to rent it for only four days which worked wonderfully for our schedule. And we could bring our dog. Would I rent it again? Probably not.
I am sorry that the cottage did not meet with your expectations. Things sometimes do break. I sincerely appreciate it when those using the cottage notify me immediately when items need repair or replacement so that they can be taken care of as quickly as possible. The grill has been replaced and repair of the stove has been scheduled. The missing tools for the grill had been placed in an unusual spot by a previous renter. I'm glad that you enjoyed the location.
Moody Beach Cottage-Location was Perfect
We had a wonderful vacation at this typical beach cottage on Moody Beach in Wells, Maine. The cottage was older and furniture was older, but it had everything that was needed. The best part of this rental was the location (took less than 2 minutes to walk to beach across the street). The porch was very nice as well. It was helpful to be able to take our two small dogs with us. I was very pleased to see that the beach allowed dogs as well, as long as they were on leash. I would suggest updating some of the furniture (esp. the mattresses). It was delightful working with the owner, who was very accommodating.
Enjoyed Mike's Clam Shack and Congdon's Donuts while we were there. Hannford grocery store was within a 10 minute car ride.
Delighted that you enjoyed Twin Pines and appreciate your suggestions. Furniture update is scheduled for this fall..
