Sometimes you remember a place because of the surroundings, sometimes it's the people in this case. It's both your lovely home is a reflection of the warmth and care you exude yourself.
You have put so much love into the cottage, its impossible not to feel it from the moment you walk thru the door. Thank you for giving us such wonderful memories of Napa and Sonoma to take home with us. Most of all, I think i'll remember you- your energy and the great love you and Bob shared that made this such a special place. We wish you every happiness and success. Thanks again.
This house is the perfect place to stay on a relaxing Napa Valley vacation. Susan really has thought of everything. There was coffee in the coffee grinder, a variety of shampoos, soaps, and lotions in the bathrooms, and a bottle of wine on the counter. Susan and Evangelina (cleaning lady) do a fantastic job cleaning the house and it was absolutely spotless when we arrived.
The backyard was a relaxing place to hang out and drink wine. The patio is lovely and we spent every evening there. There is also a vineyard in the back and it's a fun place to take pictures.
The location is walking distance from the restaurants, shops, and tasting rooms of downtown Napa. Our favorite restaurant was Gotts (near Oxbow Market.) On a free afternoon, we googled Napa Tasting Rooms and walked to two different tasting rooms.
This was a fantastic spot to stay for a girls' trip to Napa! Susan could not have been more friendly and the house was so well maintained and in such a good location. We can't wait to go back and we would absolutely recommend this vacation home to other Napa visitors!
The Corner Cottage was an excellent choice for us to stay while visiting Napa (1/28/16 – 2/2/16). Our group included four of us, with the need for three beds. We knew from the moment we booked the Corner Cottage that this was the best place for our group to stay in Napa. Susan, the owner is fabulous! Before we arrived in Napa, Susan was so helpful with suggesting restaurants, vineyards (a shootout to Villa Vinatieri), points of interest and a Limo company. When we arrived, she met us and showed us around the house that was restored to its historical beauty with modern conveniences. The Corner Cottage had Everything, I mean Everything you could want or need. From the beautiful wine glasses to the assortment of lotions – we actually only needed to bring a couple changes of clothes. Susan had even stocked the house including coffee/different flavored creamers and sugar (coffee is very important to our group). There were two full bathrooms, with one being the size of a bedroom. It was spectacular. The outside was lovely with a covered patio/grill area that was lit up at night and there was a vineyard in the backyard too. Susan shared with us, a bottle of wine that had come from the vineyard (it was yummy). My final mention – the location was awesome!!! It was walking distance to so many amenities. I could go on and on about the property and Susan, but a visitor needs to experience how warm the Corner Cottage is, and how welcoming Susan is. She is a special lady. We will be back to stay at the Corner Cottage and visit Susan soon.
The best word to describe our stay at the Corner Cottage is "Class"!. From the warm and friendly greeting we received when we arrived to the accommodations everything was first class. Enjoyed the ability to walk to restaurants and Ox Bow market especially after a day of wine tasting.
This is the place to stay if you are visiting Napa. Walking distance to downtown, shopping, wonderful restaurants, the beautiful riverfront area, Oxbow Market and of course you can hop on the Wine Train (highly recommend) which you can see the depot right from your front porch. From taking great wine tours on the Trolley, to our own exploring up the Silverado trail or just sitting in a lovely yard or chilling on the porch. What a fantastic vacation base.
Susan, you have a beautiful place there and are such a lovely person. So glad we got the opportunity to meet you and stay there. Thank you. We are recommending this great spot to our friends and family and if we should ever journey that way again, we will be in touch.
This will be written in the perspective of a family with children, aged 11 and 9. We were greeted warmly, even arrived a bit earlier than anticipated. The house was ready for us, with even more than we expected -- a fully equipped kitchen & laundry, plenty of clean linens, soaps, picnic supplies, etc. If we had really little kids, we would have made use of the stroller, high chair and kiddie games/activities.
Beds were comfortable, kids loved the Internet connection (better than ours at home), and they could lounge in their own space. Patio and vineyard were a fabulous getaway for the grown ups to enjoy a little wine after the kids went to bed. Screens in the windows allowed us to enjoy a cool fresh breeze at night.
Location is great - a 5 min walk will take you downtown or to the Oxbow Market. Had some fantastic smoked/brined pork chops from the Fatted Calf Charcuterie that we threw on the grill to enjoy with a bottle of local wine.
We were really fortunate to get such a great rental!
My girlfriends and I came in for Bottlerock and to visit some wineries. This house was the perfect location. The owner was just the best, accommodating and easily accessible when we had a couple of questions. We were in perfect walking distance of quite a bit - restaurants, shopping, the venue and a quick drive to visit several wineries. We're all hoping to do it again next year and definitely will stay here again.
