Dripping with situated, huge gated garden with ocean views, minutes to the beach, but also close to the nightlife of Nice, Monte Carlo and Cannes.
There are few villas on the Riviera (or in the world, for that matter) that have preserved their original charm as successfully as 'La Terre de Sienne'. As soon as you enter the property, you are transported to another time. From the two-hundred year old oak tress shading the villa to the four 100-year-old royal palms, to the great view toward the Mediterranean, to the paths leading through the garden, this is a haven of peace and a refuge from this fast-paced hectic world.
It was pure luck that we rented at the very very last minute La Terre De Sienne. But likely it was great fortune as we literally fell in love with the place. It has an aura and feeling that transports you to previous more glorious times. The view from the balcony is fantastic and the gardens...simply stunning.
But equally as important is the owner, KC who is charming and superbly accommodating making sure your stay is one you will never forget.
When we left La Terre De Sienne a piece of me stayed there and plans to return again and again.... and again
This is no ordinary holiday-let but a family home, much loved by generations. It's faded charm and beauty soon beguiled young and old alike.
While the young ones explored the Cotes attractions,us oldies enjoyed the grounds and villa. We felt privileged for the experience, thank you Mr KC.
This rustic home has all you would need for a quiet week in the south of France. We often cooked out own meals , but could also go up ( by taxi, bus or car) to the beautiful, old part of the city. You are within an hour from San Remo, Menton, Cannes , Grasse and Monaco. You can tell there is a lot of history in this house...
This antique villa and its garden are very beautiful and I can recommend it to everybody, especially to those who need enough space. The location is absolutely wonderful and there are a lot of opportunities and activities you can plan. We visited the villa in a big family group and everybody liked it, especially the children. The house owner is also very nice and helpful.
Overall it was a great vacation, and we would visit this villa again!
Other Activities: horse racing Europe's fifth largest racetrack is in our town. Plenty of fun attending flat races, surrey and steeplechase (depending on season).
Golf: There are many Golf Courses in the locality of Cagnes Sur Mer suitable for both novice golfers and professional golfers alike. The dry climate and warmer weather make Cagnes Sur Mer a great destination for Golfers. The Cote d'Azur has a golfing tradition hard to find anywhere else. The area has twenty seven courses with nineteen open all year. What better place than Cagnes Sur Mer to enjoy your Golf surrounded by fantastic scenery and of course the Club Houses are great too - typically with good Restaurants perfect for Golf Widows and Widowers! One nearby example is cited below....
Biot Golf Club - La Bastide du Roi, 06410 Biot. - Tel: +33 4 93 65 08 48
This is one of the Riviera's oldest courses. The fairways gently succeed each other, with calm and untroubled play to look forward to – a pleasant golfing experience for all players - without many difficulties, you will find here a course full of rustic and romantic charm which welcomes visitors. This is the nearest course to the Apartment and is very popular with people who have stayed. They offer golf lessons in English, club and shoe hire and a superb Restaurant at the 19th.
Ski: It is often assumed that the Alpes-Maritimes mountains are too close to the Côte d'Azur with its mild winters to offer any serious skiing options however the high altitudes and favourable weather conditions can make skiing possible right through until April.
The largest resorts in the region are Isola 2000, Auron and Valberg/Beuil but there are many small resorts that offer competitively priced lift passes and are in easy reach for a day or weekend trip.
The département has a long association with the sport of skiing and the first ski club, 'Ski Club des Alpes Maritimes' was founded in 1909 by Victor de Cessole, from Nice, who spent much of his life conquering these tough mountains.
There are 465 peaks over 2,000 meters in the region with, towards the Italian border, six peaks standing over 3,000 metres.
