Alcossebre Villa Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 5-6) Pool. WIFI. A/C. Walk to beach and town

THE PROPERTY

This is a brand new all exterior large 3BR/3BA home located in one of the most beautiful locations in Spain. Alcossebre is considered the jewel in the crown of the Costa del Azahar and the ideal place for your vacation. The gated-community where the house is, was built 3 years ago so everything is new and of excellent quality. The square footage is around 1,800 sf. not including the outdoor space.

The downstairs area features a very spacious living/dining room that opens to a large private backyard. High quality patio furniture (large table and 6 chairs) is also provided so you can enjoy your time/meals outside. Also, the large eat-in kitchen (fully equipped) and a full bathroom with shower are also located in the downstairs area.

The upstairs area features three large bedrooms and 2 other full bathrooms (master bathroom with shower over tub). The house has been furnished and decorated with exquisite taste.

The common spaces include a big grass area surrounding the property, the wonderfully kept 'indoor patio' and 'capilla'(chapel)from the old house - refer to my personal story for more details-, and a big pool with a kids section while you will spend some fun time for sure. All rooms in the house are exterior so there is plenty of natural light and ventilation. The rent also includes 2 parking spaces right by the house. This property is everything you need for a memorable vacation and more! Click on the link and you will see more than 40 pictures of the property!

THE TOWN AND WHAT TO DO/SEE WHILE YOU ARE HERE

NATURE - Alcossebre is the heart of the orange and fruit growing region(Costa de Azahar), which is bordered on one side by the mountains of the Serra d' Irta, and the sea on the other side. Here the sea and the mountains come together to form contrasting landscapes. Along its ten kilometers of coastline there are five high quality beaches. They are all very clean and well kept, and the best one of all is only a 2 minute walk from the house! There are also various coves along the way. These Mediterranean waters are ideal for water sports such as sailing, fishing and scuba diving, amongst others. Alcossebre is also a good base from which to explore the Columbretes Islands Nature Reserve.

Many different routes and footpaths run through the Sierra de Irta Mountains, Alcossebre's great nature area. Other interesting places are the L’Estany wetlands and the dunes to be found between El Carregador and La Romana beaches. The house is located between these two amazingly beautiful beaches. In addition, those that enjoy wildlife the Ebro Delta is less than an hours drive north, where you can take both river & sea trips for fishing, or just enjoy the walks or the beach.

FOOD - Local gastronomy is also highly varied, with fish and rice dishes being some of its most outstanding. There are in excess of 50 restaurants & bars in the area, which provide food & drink to suite every palette. The best is that they stay open until very late so you can have dinner at 6p.m. or at 11p.m.!! Don't forget to eat tons fresh seafood and paella while here Hmm...delicious! Don't mind a little wait sometimes as it is part of the experience and you are on vacation anyway! :-)

TOWNS AROUND - Within easy drive are the historic towns of Morella and Peniscola, which medieval casttle provided the setting for the Hollywood film, El Cid. Also, make sure you visit the city of Valencia, the 3rd largest city in Spain that hosted the American's Cup a couple of years ago (and also in 2 more years!). Don't miss el 'Barrio del Carmen' for it has incredible character, and the 'City of Sciences' that hosts the largest Acuarium in Europe. Valencia really is an incredible city and it's called the city of light and love for a reason! If you decide to come the 3rd week of March you will also get to experience the celebration of 'Las Fallas', witch is something a little difficult to explain. You will need to see for yourself.

WATER AND THEME PARKS - There are also many water and thematic parks around. The best water one is about a 25 min. drive from Alcossebre in a town called Benicassim, and it's called 'Acuarama'. You and your kids will absolutely love it!. There also 2 incredibly huge theme parks that are also very fun for the whole family. You need to stay a whole day in order to enjoy the rides and everything they have to offer. One is located about 1 1/2 hour north and it's called 'Port Aventura' and the other one is about 2 hours south and it's called 'Terra Mitica'. There is also a Go-Carting in Oropesa, which is only a 15 minute drive.

GOLF - If you enjoy playing golf, you may want to know that there are two Championship class Golf course's within 45 min's drive of the villa, as well as a 9 hole course which is 30 min drive away. The first course is 'Panoramica' which was designed by Berhnard Langer, this is close to Vinaros, which is north of Alcossebre, take the N340 to Vinaros then follow the N232, from where it is signposted. The second, Mediterranio is south of Alcossebre, take the motorway, A7 to Castellon North, junction 46, from where it is 10 min drive. This is the older of the two courses, and Sergio Garcia's home course. The 9 hole course, also to the north of Castellon, is near the port area, it is a 'Parkland' course, which is fairly flat but very tight.

SEE? Not only the house is beautiful and everything you and your family need for an awesome vacation, but there is also so much to do while you are here! However, if you are just looking to disconnect from your busy daily routine and spend your vacation time reading, sitting by the pool, taking long walks on the beach, and just enjoying the delicious food, this is also the perfect place as you can find peace and quiet as well. It truly is a wonderful place and you will have a restful and memorable vacation.

Wherever you decide to stay, may you have a great holiday! :-)

About Alicia Saura

A little about the history of this location - My family owned the land where the house is located but sold it about 10 years ago. Before we sold the property, there was a huge family mansion located right in the middle of the property. It believed they started building it in the mid 1800' s and it was finished in the early 1990' s. During the Spanish Civil war was partially destroyed but rebuilt shortly after the war ended. The property had been in my family for generations so when it got sold 12 years ago, my mom, my two siblings and I decided to keep, each of us, a house in the community that was about to be built. We also requested to the developers to maintain the original patio (a replica of the Granada's Alhambra) and the amazing family chapel. They agreed as they understood it would give character to the community so, if you decide to stay in my property, along with the many things you will enjoy, you will also get to see these two beautiful pieces of art right in the middle of the community… pretty cool, right? :-)

Growing up, I used to spend 4 months out of the year in Alcossebre so I am very attached to all my wonderful memories. Now I've been living in San Francisco, CA, for the past 16 years with my wonderful husband and my two children, where I own a relocation business (www.sanfranciscorelocate.com) but I still visit Alcossebre every summer with my family since my mom and two siblings live in the area and I just love it there. However, I own two other properties in this same community, and I also have to divide my time between Alcossebre and the Basque Country, where my husband is from, so we rent our homes when we are not there, which is most of the time. The great thing is that you can enjoy too this wonderful and magical place!

Why Alicia Saura chose Castellon

Because it's everything you need! Please, read the description above to learn more about why you will love it here. Alcossebre is the best town to vacation and the house is located is the best part of town, only a 2min wall to the two best beaches, a 10min walk to the center of the village and maybe about a 30min walk to the Marina area. You don't even need a car but you should have one so you can also visit the near by town of Peñiscola, which is very cute (the old part) and visit the city of Valencia, which is only one hour away.

What makes this villa unique

Quiet but close to everything. Great pool and green areas to relax without leaving the community. The beach is only a two-minute walk. Many restaurants and shops walking distance. Amazing walks along the beach. The house is big, fully equipped, very nicely decorated and it has a huge private yard. Wi-Fi, air conditioning and everything else you need to have an amazing vacation.

My husband and I stayed in this little coastal town for 2 weeks in June for our 40th wedding anniversary. The beaches are very beautiful and just a short walk. We had several great dinners are the restaurants along the beach with one of them on top of the nearby mountain called El Pinar. Excellent!! The property itself is very well maintained and the apartment is as pictured. If there was a couple of things that we would be critical of it would be that there virutally was no internet connection! It was important to us that we had this and it was not as stated! The owners mother did not speak English and if it wasn't for a very nice neighbour that did speak English we would not have had any internet. As it was we had to sit outside her mothers house to use the wireless..very inconvenient!

The beds were just a step above a hide-a-bed and rather uncomfortable if you are used to a pillowtop mattress like most North Americans. Bedding could be upgraded as well. Other than that we had a lovely time here! Cooked a few of our own meals and the kitchen is well equipped. It was nice to have a washing machine. One other note is to brush up on your Spanish because there is not much English spoken here.

I would recommend this place for families with younger children or a retired couple like us. Turned out to be the better part of our entire trip to Spain! Thank you for sharing your little piece of paradise with us.

Wonderful time!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had a wonderful time in this home! We have 3 little boys and there was plenty of space for all of us. The home is lovely, we enjoyed many meals outdoors on the back patio, and the weather in May was perfect! The pool is very nice but we spent most of our time at the beach, which was very quick and easy to walk to. It was so nice that the home has a washing machine, so we were able to pack less clothing and do laundry while we were there - instead of having to bring home suitcases filled with dirty laundry. We only wish we could have stayed longer!
