Saturna Island is a nature lover’s paradise with lots to explore by bike, foot, or boat. Most of the island is a National park, protecting the sensitive ecology and preserving the rural nature of the island. There are a variety of restaurants to enjoy including Saturna Island Winery.
The house is modern, spacious and comfortable; perfect for sharing with family and friends. Launch your kayak from or explore tidal pools on the low bank sandstone beach in front of the house. It is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy.

We arrived with the intent of having family join us which did and did not happen. We almost didn't book here as we had some communication difficulty with the owner. We are so happy we were able to connect and that we did get to stay here. The place is a little worn, but this is an island retreat and we felt quite comfortable and cozy here.
The location is awesome. Right on the water. That being said for the first few days we despaired of launching our kayaks in front of the house due to lots of wind. We took them down to Winter Cove where had no trouble. The winds settled down and we were able to launch from the house and explore Cabbage Island and Tumbo Island. The snorkelling right here was awesome... the sea stars were huge!
We also enjoyed biking from here to East Point and Winter Cove. The ride down to the ferry and back involves a lot of long and/or steep hills and we did not enjoy that ride very much.
The neighbours said feel free to wander both directions along the old road that runs by the cabins at the waterfront. (Except don't go near 405 if she is home)
We were not 100% sure of the appliances here so we brought our bread maker which we used a lot. The best thing we brought though was a crock pot. This was very handy as the oven was out of commission for few days. We did see that there were all the small appliances a person may need but having brought ours.. we never tried them out.
While so many areas commented on the water shortages and we practiced water conservation while here, it was never a problem. We were glad there was a compost.
We also brought lots of extra TP, kleenex, cling wrap, foil, baggies, but found that the house was well stocked. We also basically just brought the contents of our fridge as our stay was three weeks.
Once you arrive on the Island stop at the general store and get a Scribbler. This little book gives you all the details of what is happening on the island, where to recycle your paper, cans, glass, styrofoam etc, important phone numbers, church services and the works. Darryl, who will pick up the garbage for a fee, brought out two frisbees for the golf course, left them on the table and we left him the money. We never locked our car the whole time we were here. We felt so safe and the locals are all wonderful.
We especially loved the Parks programmes at East Point on the Friday nights. If you have children they will enjoy the parks programme at Winter Cove on the Sundays.
We found this house to be tremendously comfortable. It is large and spacious. We stayed with 5 adults in total, with ample room to spare. It is well equipped with all the necessary household appliances and supplies. Bathrooms are all located downstairs, but posed no problems.
The view is stunning! Views of seals, sea lions and bald eagles guaranteed. We wholeheartedly recommend this house!
