Alpine Meadows House Rental Photos and Description

House, 4 Bedrooms + Den, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 10)

This unique mountain property is a terrific family (or small group) rental, perfectly located at the end of a cul de sac in beautiful Alpine Meadows! You are in a serene, private area yet close to everything! A minute drive up the valley is the Alpine Meadows Ski Area, around the corner is Squaw Valley or drive just up the road to the shores of Lake Tahoe (both Squaw and Tahoe City are about 5 minutes away).

Our cedar wrapped, pine accented home blends unique artistic tastes in a very attractive, pleasing mountain feel. The upstairs floor plan is open and flooded with light. A big kitchen and open dining room, perfect for large family dinners, allows those enjoying the flat screen TV sitting area or fireplace lounge to participate in conversations.

There is also a downstairs TV/family room, a great spot for kids to enjoy a movie while adults retreat for some quiet time. Keeping families in mind, this home also includes a pack-n-play and baby monitor. There are 3 bedrooms each with a queen bed and a 4th bedroom with 2 bunk beds (can sleep 4).

The outdoor hot tub is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy phenomenal views after a long day on the hill or trails.

You are truly nestled in nature here and yet only minutes from everything great about the Tahoe North Shore. We chose this location over any other in Tahoe because of its beauty, quiet and close proximity to everything we love (summer and winter) about Tahoe!

About The Owner

Joan and I, Dennis, live most of the time just above the Napa Valley. I recently sold my Internet Marketing Company and my wife her successful art business. We are semi-retired. We travel quite a bit together and with our two married daughters, their husbands and their growing families. One of our daughters is a successful Interior Architect in Los Angles who is married to an entrepreneur who is the founder and CEO of a major software company. The other daughter is the lead occupational therapist at an acute care hospital in Marin County, CA, whose husband is a Director of Photography in motion pictures, television and advertising working internationally. We are an active group. We all love to ski, hike, scuba dive, surf, bike, boat, ride motorcycles and hang out together in beautiful environments. We are recent grandparents with both daughters and thoroughly enjoy this delightful new addition to our lives.

The Owner purchased this house in 2008

Why The Owner chose Lake Tahoe North Shore

After many years of owning a ski in/out house at Sugar Bowl, and after searching the entire Tahoe Basin, we found the ideal spot for enjoying the benefits of a four season vacation home. We are only a minute from Alpine Meadows - a hill we think is quite superior to Sugar Bowl, five minutes from Squaw Valley and the shores of Lake Tahoe. In summer, we are one minute from horseback riding and two minutes from terrific rafting and kayaking on the Truckee River. We consider this the best location in Tahoe for our kind of active summer and winter vacations and away from the congestion and noise of most of Tahoe.

What makes this house unique

We love the bright sunny feeling of our house in both winter and summer. We are surrounded by rugged nature but super comfortable in a house with every amenity. We love to sit by the fire or soak in the hot tub at the end of a ski day or after a bike ride. We also like watching DVDs on our new Sony 55" LCD TV, or playing games around the cozy fireplace. We are avid traditional art collectors and enjoy the feeling our unique alpine and American Indian decor provides. In summer we really like sunbathing, and/or hanging out and eating on one of our decks.

Our family's snowy stay at the Duff chalet was wonderful. The home was as advertised with no unpleasant hidden or carefully worded misrepresentations.

The house was clean and well stocked with a functional kitchen, comfortable beds, TV's, fireplace and a great hot tub. Great location near Squaw/Alpine.

Would definitely recommend this home to anyone who is looking for an aesthetically pleasant retreat in the snow.

Fantastic location

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time here in your Alpine Chalet. It is a really lovely home. It was perfect for our family of six, but there was plenty of room for a lot more. The location was fantastic. We were able to enjoy horseback riding, hiking, biking and swimming. We went up the cable car at Squaw Valley and saw amazing views, then off to mountain biking at North Star. We drove to Emerald Bay and eat some great meals in Tahoe City. It was an incredible time for our family. Thank you for providing this special place for us.

The chalet had everything we needed for a wonderful vacation. We stayed with three other couples and there was plenty of room for all of our activities. We enjoyed walking, grilling, sightseeing, picnicking, gambling and more. Would recommend to anyone.

Wonderful House

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time here in the Alpine Chalet. What a lovely home. It was perfect for our family of five, but there was plenty of room for a lot more. The location was fantastic. We were able to ski and board at Alpine and Squaw and even Northstar. We had great meals, played fun games, laughed a lot and really enjoyed ourselves in this beautifully decorated home. Everyone loved the hot tub and great view of the mountains. The only thing we needed to make our time even better was more snow. We now want to come back here in the summer and enjoy all the fabulous outdoor activities of Tahoe. Thanks so much. We will be back.

Fantastic Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Infinite thanks, Duffs! For some of us, this was the first time to Tahoe. For others, it was a familiar visit. But for all of us it was a magical time with people we love and your gorgeous home helped create all our wonderful memories. Thank you so much. We will be back.

Loved everything about your chalet!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you Duffs for a wonderful vacation. We loved everything about your chalet, especially the hot tub and the different living areas that allowed for adult time. We took many amazing hikes and bike rides, really enjoying summer in Tahoe. We can't wait to return when there's snow! The location and the chalet were perfect.
