4 Bedrooms, 2 Full Baths, 2 1/2 Baths, Sleeps 16, Gourmet Kitchen
This is a great vacation lake house for family or family and friends that has a large gourmet kitchen. The house can sleep up to 16 comfortably. Renovations were made in 2013 to the master bathroom and a new couch and recliner were added to the living room. In 2016 and 2017, the interiors and exterior were freshly painted for a more contemporary look.
The home is split into three levels. You first descend the stairs to the ground floor where you'll find a half bath and the bedroom set up with two twin beds with trundle beds.
From the ground floor, you descend to another floor that has a half bath, a full bath, the room with queen bunk beds, and a room with a single queen. Both rooms open up to a patio that has views of the hills and the lake.
Above the ground floor is the large, open living room, dining room, kitchen, and game room. This floor opens up to a patio that is above the one below and has seating for 8 and the BBQ pit.
One more flight above the living room is the large master suite with master bathroom and a private patio.
The garage door is just for show! It was converted into the game room and kitchen by the previous owners.

About John, Morgan, and James
James and Morgan (left to right) are long-time friends from Houston who have always loved the Texas Hill Country. They both attended Southwest Texas State University, but James now lives and works in Houston. For years they had rented other homes in the area to enjoy Lake Travis but finally settled on buying this home. John (right) attended The University of Texas at Austin and lives in Austin with Morgan. He joined them in helping manage rentals for this home in 2010 and loves providing recommendations for things to see and do in the Texas Hill Country.
John, Morgan, and James purchased this House in 2005
What makes this House unique
In addition to the beautiful views of Lake Travis and the Hill Country, this neighborhood has a quiet, wooded charm. Homes are built right into the hills, allowing for great panoramic views of the surrounding area. Sitting out on the patio, you get the feeling of being up in the trees. Every day you will see deer grazing around the neighborhood and hopping through the coves around the home.

Great Experience on Lake Travis
What a great place to stay with friends. John and Morgan were easy to contact and great to work with. The house and accommodations were more than amazing and the view and scenery add to the experience. It was easy access to the lake and community pool. I would recommend this property to anyone needing a weekend getaway!
Great vacation rental for families!
We enjoyed very much our stay in April. The weather was gorgeous. The house is very spacious, the jitchen well equiped. Our teenager kids enjoyed playing billard - and we enjoyed walking and jogging in the area. The house has a nice view on the lake and is in the middle of the nature - deers are everywhere and come very close to the house.
There is a pool just 50m away from the house which we appreciated a lot.
Austin is just a 40min drive away, so we went several times for shopping, sight seeing and dining.
The plot is situated directly oon the lake, but we could not access the lake at that time, the area was not cleaned up, probably too early in the season.
Great place to get away
We want to thank James for all he did during the process of us planning of
our family vacation a great experience. He was really informative to make
our time in Spicewood a very pleasant. The house was very clean and quite
comfortable. You felt like you could come in take your shoes off and read a
magazine. The neighborhood was so quite. You could sit out on the balcony at
night and here the deer walking around it was so quiet. We did see quite a
few deer that were so close you could almost touch them.
If you are not a lake swimmer the pool was very close to the house. We did
try and enjoy the lake but considering the drought this year it was hard to
get the true experience of how close the water is to the house. If the water
had been closer it looked to have been in a very nice well kept secluded
area away from all the busy boat traffic.
We loved the fact we could bring all our favorite foods and have great
family dinners around the huge dining table which accommodated all of us.
The kitchen was a dream to cook in while others played pool, cards or the
little ones watching Disney movies. You didn't feel like you were missing
out on all the action. You just felt like everyone was together and it was
perfect for family time.
Downstairs where the main bedrooms are is very nice. One full bath with
double sinks and a half bath made it very easy for everyone to get ready
without having to constantly wait to get in front of the mirror. The two
beds were really comfortable and fresh. One thing you must prepare for is to
bring the essential toiletries...paper and hand soap. It is fine as long as
you know this ahead of time. The master bedroom is a few stair steps up
from the main living room with a beautiful attached bath. The first bedroom
is to the right of the front door which has the twin trundle beds. You are
able to use one trundle so basically you have 3 twin beds in that room. I
cute little half bath right next to the bedroom. It is also very accessible
for everyone you only have a couple of steps down from the living room.
It is close to town to make it an enjoyable motorcycle ride. If you forgot
something from home it is not to bad of a drive to run to the store.
Our family of aunts, uncles, parents (grandparents), and the little one
truly enjoyed our weekend and we all are looking forward to renting this
house again next year. I sure hope this small novel will help to make your
stay as pleasant as ours.
The house is only 36 miles from Austin, Texas. The private gated community has (3) swimming pools and numerous tennis courts and a landing strip for private planes. We are only a few miles from Barton Creek Lakeside Country Club & Golf Course as well as several other area golf courses. We are also only a few miles from Stone House Vineyard that offers tours and 17 miles from the Hill Country Galleria in Bee Caves, TX where you will find wonderful shops and restaurants. Additional nearby activities include the Cypress Valley Canopy Tour; Palmer Lakeside, Lakecliff, and Pedernales golf courses. We highly recommend Plate by Dzintra in Bee Cave or Apis in Spicewood for incredible dining experiences.
