This house is working out perfectly for us- so much so that we want to stay longer. Thank you for everything- one of us will be calling later with our new dates after arrangements with the airlines (I hope all of the days are still available...)

Perfect rock history location

  • 5 of 5

This property is perfectly located in the birthplace of a lot of 60's and 70's music - an old hippies dream! Living room easily converts to nice dance floor, particularly if you are playing Eagles music!! Deck off the kitchen is a nice spot to have a glass of wine and try to spot deer on the hillside across the street. Beds and baths are comfortable, kitchen is well stocked, and parking is easy if you follow Kristie's suggestions (don't open driver side doors if ANY other car is coming). Convenient to attractions such as Griffith Park, Farmer's Market, Santa Monica Pier (the end of Route 66), Beverly Hills, San Fernando Mission, Universal Studios, Hollywood Bowl, Greek Theatre, Gene Autry Museum, J. Paul Getty Museum, Burbank Airport (do yourself a huge favor and use Burbank if you are flying in - LAX is a nightmare) and much more. Canyon Country Store down the block is fantastic, but suggest you make the walk in daylight. If you are not familiar with traffic patterns in Los Angeles, you might want to consult a local because time and direction of travel can be made more difficult than necessary by LA's legendary traffic. If you want the feel of being away from it all, while at the same time staying smack in the middle of LA County, this is your place. There were 4 of us - two couples, one American, one British, both products of the 60's and 70's. We had a blast pretending we were rubbing elbows with rock legends. You will too. Only caveat is the need to carry suitcases up quite a few stairs. If you are physically challenged this might be difficult. We're all in our 60's and we managed just fine.

Excellent and definitely recommend

  • 5 of 5

Our experience was great. We were 4 adults and 2 children (toddler and a baby). The location of the house is great. The neighborhood is very quiet. Lily's shop is at walking distance and has great coffee for the mornings. Everything in the house was ready as advertised and Kristie made it very easy for us. She was extremely responsive and available for any question prior and during our stay. Wifi worked perfectly. No complaints; on the contrary, definietly recommend.

très belle maison, très bien située

  • 5 of 5

The house is very nice with everything you need during your holidays. The localisation is perfect, closed to a lot a thing in LA and with a very quiet neighborood.

We will come back!!!!

Awesome!

  • 5 of 5

The house was in a perfect location. Accessible to many convenient locations around Los Angeles within a 15 min drive. After a staying there a few days, I easily started remembering how to get to the house without using my GPS. Very quiet and peaceful neighborhood with a small exception of hearing a car or two pass the house trying to get to the main road. The house does sit on a hill on a narrow road so it might be hard at first to find the house. Just reach the stop sign and make a u-turn and slowly come back down the hill again. The house does have a lot of steps! Most California houses sit on hills, so be prepared to walk a little! There were many included amenities, such as kitchen utensils like pots/pans/plates, washer & dryer, wifi, cable TV, A/C and towels for the guests. My guests and I would definitely stay here again.

Loved This Area of LA

  • 5 of 5

My daughter and I recently spent six days at Kristie's house in Laurel Canyon. We were in LA for a film shoot, and after some research I found this lovely, spacious home for no more than an nice hotel room in Hollywood. Everything from start to finish was hassle-free, and I would rent this property again in a heartbeat. Do make sure you walk down the street for coffee and pastries in the morning at the Canyon Country Store on their deck, and again at night for some sumptuous food at Pace's restaurant downstairs in the store (not to be missed!). Another tip: we didn't rent a car, and found Uber rides to be very economical.

Owner's Response: Thank you for pointing out the Uber option. With rideshare options now (Even Uber Pool and Lyft Lyne) you can get around LA easily in a whole new way without a rental car (it was nearly impossible to do that even a a couple of years ago!). We love that we can walk down to Lily's and Pace as well. Next time, you've got to try the hike as well :-)
