About Melissa Crimmins and Bryan Hagedon

Melissa, Bryan, and Keaton

Michigan natives currently living in California.

Melissa Crimmins and Bryan Hagedon purchased this house in 2003

Why Melissa Crimmins and Bryan Hagedon chose Northern Michigan

Leland is our second home, enjoyed a lifetime of memories year around with family here. Our family lives in Leland, own businesses (Leland Toy Company, Blue Moon), and attend the Leland Public School. People travel the world to find their special place... we come home to Leland. We bought the Pearl sight unseen because we always loved the house growing up - we didn't need to see it. We love Leland and the Pearl House represents the original feeling and authenticity of this beautiful place.

What makes this house unique

walk to Lake Michigan beaches, Leland Country Club, Leland Yacht Club for sailing, Lake Leelanau public beach w/lifeguard and boat launch, easy stroll to river access for kayaking or boat launch. Cycling in the Leelanau Peninsula is fantastic. Wine tours around the M-22 Loop. Walk to unique one of a kind shops, yoga, Sisson's Bakery for sticky goodness, Fishtown, Leelanau Historical Museum with tons of nautical lore within a short walk.

Quality Home!

  • 5 of 5

We are repeat guests at the Pearl House and look forward to our annual summer visit. The quality of the home makes our time memorable and the owners continue to invest in upgrades as they consider this their second home. This is not a typical rental. I hesitated to right a review as I want to keep this gem to ourselves. Fortunately, the owners give first right each year to return renters. Therefore it's hard to find available weeks during July and August.

Notes:
After you grab your morning java and warm muffin from Sisson's Bakery set your agenda for the day Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore? Or Manitou Island Transit Ferry to the Manitou islands for the day? Ride the 16 miles around the lake? kayak or take your SUP down the river and out on Lake Leelanau? walk white sand beaches of Lake Michigan as far as you can go to the North or south? go to Hancock field for family softball. or tennis? learn the history of Leelanau at the historical museum then pop into the beautiful library on the river for story time or take out a movie? Strawberry or cherry picking right up the road too. so much to do so little time in Leland. come again.
