Lovely little cottage
My kids and I stayed at the cottage while on a trip to Hershey and we throughly enjoyed our stay. Katcha was very welcoming. She gave us a tour; we fed the sheep and looked for fresh eggs. The highlight of the property for us were all the barn cats. We loved all of them. The cottage itself was clean and well appointed and perfect for what we needed. We definitely plan on staying there again!
PA Family Getaway
Our family of 4 thoroughly enjoyed our time in and at the Millers cottage on Katcha's property. The cottage was stocked with all we needed to have an enjoyable 5 day break from reality. Katcha was kind enough to give us a tour of the farm and show my kids how to feed and water all the animals. They also got to go on a hunt through the barn for fresh eggs. The cats are plentiful and we would often have 5-6 join us out on the front porch for mornign coffee and evening reading. The creek was a great way to cool down on the hot summer days and a fun place for the kids to wade in and burn out the last of their energy. We also enjoyed the firepit and roasting s'mores on the days the weather cooperated.
We took 3 day trips from the cottage and all were fun and within easy driving of the farm. Gettysburg and all of its history can't be missed, Hershey was adventurous day and Amish country was a nice walk back in time.
We will definitely look to stay again if we plan more PA adventures!
A wonderful relaxing place - great for kids.
Our family of 4 loved staying here. The house was comfortable to stay in even though it was hot out and it had everything we needed. It was so relaxing to have coffee on the porch while watching / listening to the animals and the stream. On top of having a nice place to stay, we explored the creek, fed the animals, held new baby chicks (right from under the hen!) found eggs in the barn, learned about the mill, and rode on the bike path which is pretty much right in the back yard. If you are going to Hershey area, this is the place to stay. Just be sure to plan some extra time just for haning out at the house.
Beautiful property with rustic charm!
We had a fabulous time. Katcha and Merrit are terrific hosts. The property was clean and functional. They supplied all the amenities which was so thoughtful even down to the shampoo, soaps, books, games and cat treats lol. The creek was beautiful even after the hard rains! We love all the animals on the property and enjoyed our stay very much.
Memories of a lifetime
Quite an amazing property. It's really a step back in time to see how things used to be, but with plenty of modern conveniences. Katcha was incredibly gracious and very receptive to anything we needed, including showing us around the farm. The architecture of the home is really impressive due to it being built so long ago. The animals in the front yard waking up with you is something you really can't express in words. Our boys truly enjoyed playing and naming all the cats that were very pleasant to be around. Accommodations were great and A/C worked perfectly. Creek provided great relief on some of the hotter days. Definitely not one to pass up - an experience like no other!
Truly a wonderful property and experience!
A really sublime setting where the sheep graze outside at the edge of your porch and you can enjoy a taste of country life. Our kids loved getting the farm fresh eggs each morning and feeding the baby lambs, sheep, goat and al paca. The hosts are wonderful and also can offer a tour of the partially restored mill from the 1700's. Would highly recommend as a get-a-way from NYC or if staying in Hershey which is only 20 minutes away.
