Family Spring Break 2017

  • 4 of 5

The view, absolutely stunning... the pics don't do it justice - when you open that door, its literally breath taking, I was outside on the amazing deck, taking in views of lake and hill country almost the entire time I was at the house (and I miss it now that I"m back home In Indiana) There's actually 4 levels, one being the house, the second being the fire pit area, the third being the sitting area overlooking the lake and the lake front itself. Getting to the lake or sitting area you will need to be strategic, there are rocks, but to get from the front porch to the first rock you'll need some good shoes. The second level where the fire pit is was unpleasing to the eye - there was trash in the pit not cleaned up, and unfortunately broken bottle that hadn't been picked up, the seating level hadn't been addressed in a bit - there was a couple towels that were musty that we brought back up..

The house - and the reason for the 4 stars (bc the view is like 10 stars) the house really is spacious, lots of room, it has most everything you would want to cook, and the kitchen is great!! There were a couple of things that I would change if I were the owners - the furniture is very VERY worn and not comfortable to sit on, and you can tell the wear after the ahhh moment of the view is over and you come in for the night. There is no sofa bed as described, its literally a sofa that has been slept on - and slept on again, we had to make an exception for on of the guest we were traveling with. There is a closet that is not organized and when you open it, all of the recreation gear that put in there is piled high and falling out, we ended up not needing it just put it back. The two most concerning things that we had was there are tiles in the kitchen that have been replaced and grout is coming out - there was a pile of debris, that included chunks of the tile my husband stepped on, and the last thing I would change immediately is there is no reflectors on the landing to the deck they are very very shallow and hard to see, my dad fell (the railing was blocked with tanks for the grill)

After we left we realized how much we missed the place and certainly would come back. Turnkey was awesome and was very attentive to my needs when I called. Literally just a few tweeks and I think it would be a perfect! (and just our opinion - as we travel to Texas every spring break from Indiana)

Amazing view of the lake!

  • 5 of 5

The photos don't do justice to the main room of this house. We were very pleasantly surprised upon walking in to take in the very wide view through picture windows, then we stepped out on to the large balcony where the view was even better. That's also where the hot tub is, and we spent a lot of time there under the stars looking out over the lake. It's a short walk down to your own personal stretch of waterfront, although many people will be reluctant to get in right there (it's not a sandy beach). Almost everything was clean, functional, inviting, and pleasant about this property. Definitely worth the value, and we were very happy to have rented it. The neighborhood was quiet with lots of deer wandering around. The hot tub did flip a breaker on us, but the property managers were very responsive and helped us fix it right away. Make sure you're aware of the sleeping situation - 2 rooms with 2 or 3 medium sized beds apiece. We were all friends so we made it work, but if you need a room to yourself to sleep in it may be harder to arrange.

Serene/Tranquil

  • 4 of 5

The house is EXACTLY as the pictures! I would say it's the best view of the river! You can sit on the patio & gaze at the tranquility of the water or walk down a path to the landing & gaze over the river, or sit in the living room & gaze thru the huge picture window! This was an amazing wknd with a community swimming pool in cool off during the day & a hot tub to relax in the evening, overlooking the river! Very relaxing & tranquil.

I only gave a 4 star because of the cleanliness...

Cobwebs & spiders thru out the house, dishes, pots & pans, dirty in the cabinets, some with food in them, others with food & water in them! This type of dirtiness causes bugs... Had to wash everything before using it...

I would say the house needs a new housekeeping crew and an exterminator, there were gnats/fruit flies covering a large portion of a wall in one of the bedrooms! We sprayed the wall with insect spray... Other than the cleanliness, the house was perfect, big, comfortable...

Weekend Escapade

  • 4 of 5

Our first time using Turnkey vacation started off as a bit of a disappointment. We were just 25 minutes from the rental house when we got a call from them and was told that the oven wasn’t working. We were planning to bake brownies and brought casserole dishes with us to be heated in the oven. We could have been prepared if we knew ahead of time. Though, they gave us a discount to compensate for our trouble; it was a little bit of an inconvenience.

The house was neat with comfy beds, a spectacular view, and a hot tub which we enjoyed during the beautiful Texas summer nights. It’s such a perfect getaway. I would consider coming back and definitely would recommend the house to my friends.

Be sure to wear sneakers when going down to the lake because the walk down can be slippery and potentially dangerous if wet. A visit at Krause Springs is a must! Being only 10 minutes away from the house it’s a great spot to bring the family and enjoy what nature has to offer aside from the lake literally steps away. FYI, there is low to no internet connection in and around the house.

The house does need some maintenance and up keep: one screen door is broken, front closet and utility storage were cluttered and cobwebs in ceiling pot racks and plants.

But overall, we enjoyed our stay and had a blast!

Owner's Response: Hi Chona, Thank you for taking the time out of your day to leave us this feedback. We'd like to start out for apologizing again for the inconvenience with the broken oven handle during your stay. We discovered the damages from the previous guest and have since had this repaired, but can imagine what a bummer this would be to not be able to bake cookies during your stay. We will look into doing more sprucing up at this home now that the summer lake season has slowed down, and see if there are any additional ways we can improve the experience for our future guests. We sincerely hope you'd consider visiting us again in the future. Don't forget we have 24/7 guest support if you need anything at all during your stay. Thank you for your time and have a wonderful year! - The TurnKey VR Team.

Girls weekend getaway

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed a quiet girls' weekend here. The photos on the listing were exactly what we experienced with the house. We loved the view, the deck, and the spacious open kitchen and living room. The beds were comfortable, too.

We enjoyed visiting close by spots - Stonehouse vineyards and Krause springs.

On the negative side, there were only 2 bath towels available for a house that sleeps 8 people. There were no hand towels in the main floor bathroom. We had to retrieve our own toilet paper from the pantry, which was in complete disarray.

Overall, this is a great rental, and we will be back.

Owner's Response: Hi Anna, We're so glad to hear you had a wonderful time at this home during your girls weekend and enjoyed the amazing location and views from the property. We're so sorry to hear you weren't able to locate enough towels at the home. We sincerely hope you'll consider visiting us again and we have 24/7 guest support, so please don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything at all during a future stay! Now that we're moving into a slower fall season at the lake we'll be sure to visit this property and see if there is any way we can improve the home for future rentals. Please come back and see us again soon! - The TurnKey VR Team
