Spectacular ocean view three bedroom, two bath private Playa Hermosa villa for rent. This wonderful vacation rental has a fully appointed granite eat-in kitchen, oversize jacuzzi tub, and a private infinity edge pool. The inside of the villa is beautiful with the exposed teak beam open ceilings, but by far the best feature of the villa is the deck overlooking the private infinity edge pool that gives way to a Million Dollar ocean view! The villa is comfortably appointed with furniture from local artisans. Enjoy a soak in the 2 person jacuzzi, or take a dip in your private pool.
This gated resort style community is centered in the heart of Playa Hermosa and sits high on a hill to afford beautiful views of Peninsula Papagayo and the ocean beyond. The beautiful beach is minutes from the front door by walking, and there are numerous restaurants nearby. Within the development is a restaurant/bar, first-aid, grocery store, spa, mini golf, movie theater, BBQ area, nature trails with waterfall, and a pool with two slides.
Playa Coco is minutes away and provides additional dining and night life. Arenal and other volcanoes are a three hour drive (or 15 min flight) and there are numerous surf and kite-board beaches nearby.
Rest, relax and get away, or venture out for all of the activities Costa Rica has to offer. Your choice! Come enjoy our piece of gold coast paradise....
I run and own my own travel agency. I have traveled around the world, but I truly fell in love with Costa Rica and all of its natural beauty.
Laurie purchased this house in 2009
Pura Vida...Costa Rica is a true paradise!
he home was beautiful. The inside was exactly as the pictures showed and the pool and view was even more beautiful than the pictures. I'm glad we chose to rent a car. It allowed us to visit the many beaches near by and check out the shopping and night life in Playa Coco. Which was so much fun.
Also all the tour trips we wanted to do where only anywhere from half an hour to an hour away. So we got to spend more time playing than driving.
Our whole trip was so amazing there is no way I could say what I liked best about it. But being able to come home to our view and pool was at the top of the list.
This villa is just gorgeous! My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights and didn't want to leave. Highlights include the views of the ocean, the infinity pool, spacious living/kitchen area, and huge master suite. Very close to the beach and easy access to the main roads/highway for day trips. Laurie gave us some wonderful recommendations; Father Rooster restaurant in Playa Coco is a must.
We had a long year with my suffering through cancer treatment and a life threatening infection, followed by the sudden death of my mother in law. We needed a vacation! We hadn't ever used VRBO before but knew people who had. I searched and found this property and it looked spectacular and exactly what we needed for my husband and I, 3 daughters, son in law and two small children (aged 11 months and 18 months). It was exactly as advertised. We felt at home immediately and the home was just lovely. The limited access community gave us peace of mind and the location allowed us to do anything we wanted. We loved Playa Hermosa and spent a few days there just enjoying the sun and surf. Laurie was extremely helpful giving us suggestions for things to do and Milagro management was great!
Definitely rent a car as things aren't really within walking distance, particularly if you have children with you. We went to the jungle cat rescue place (Los Pumas) and the African safari. I recommend both! The children really loved it. Every morning we sat and watched the world awaken and listened to the howler monkeys and birds get ready for the day. Lots of parrots around. The Magpie Jays will come right up and eat out of your hands. As birdwatchers, we loved this. The kids were in awe.
We took Laurie's suggestion and went to Ginger for dinner one night. I'd recommend it! The food was wonderful. Our daughter is a chef so mostly we cooked at the house (there is a great grocery store in Playa Coco).
I just can't say enough nice things about the whole experience. Don't hesitate to rent this place. Laurie is extremely helpful and the property her family owns will certainly suit the needs of your family if you choose to go. All of the people involved were great and we had no concerns.
This was our second time in Costa Rica so we knew some things about the roads. They're not great. Driving is not a problem but some roads might take your breath away occasionally. I'd recommend using a tour company for anything mountain related (zip lining, volcano tours, canopy tours, etc) as the roads up there might leave you a touch frightened. For other things, just plan well and you'll be fine.
All in all, a perfect spot and a perfect property. Don't hesitate to book it.
This was our first time renting with VRBO in a foreign country. It couldn’t have been better! Laurie, the owner, was very helpful getting everything set up. Adobe met us as expected. Laura from Milagro showed us to the house and helped with a fishing trip. It all went like clockwork. The house was just right for the 7 of us. Everything was as pictured. The grandkids enjoyed the pool after a long day of sightseeing. It is on a steep hill and you definitely need a car to get to the beach. Went to Pinca Beach in our car. That was an adventure!
We used Sibu tours for all of our excursions. They did a fantastic job. It was wonderful to sit on the porch and watch the birds and the beautiful sunsets in the evening. Would definitely recommend this villa. Costa Rica has so much to offer. Would love to go back someday.
We were delighted with the home. The view of the ocean was excellent. Because the house was the last one on the road, we were near lots of trees and saw many beautiful exotic birds.
We shared our trip with long-time friends and had plenty of room for everyone.
Although we did not expect to use the pool much we ended up using it every evening. We felt totally safe, secure, and at home. We could not have asked for a better vacation and would recommend Playa Hermosa to others.
The house was clean and well appointed. We located everything we needed.
What a great vacation!
I submitted a longer review but for some reason HomeAway did not get it or post it, so this is just a summary. Great home - clean, modern, spacious, great views, good location, close to awesome beaches and good restaurants. Laurie (the owner) was very nice and helpful and the management company was professional. Without a doubt we will go back again to this same home but in the wet season to see what the dry forest in the rainy season looks like.
My husband and I ( in our 60's), our daughter and 2 grandsons (6 & 4) stayed here for a week. The owner was amazingly helpful pre-trip with lots of suggestions for eating, sight-seeing and shopping and even arranged our rental car. Milagro Mgmt. was most helpful on-site and had a basket of goodies waiting when we arrived...after a long trip, much appreciated! We were blessed with comfy beds, air-conditioning, a washer/dryer, lots of fluffy towels, a well-equipped kitchen and stylish, casual furnishings. The boys love the water and there was no shortage...the condo infinity pool, the complex pool with waterslide and pool-side snack bar where they could sit on benches in the pool to sip their drinks not to mention the beaches. The boys loved Ginger (casual, tapas); I loved La Finisterra (awesome panoramic views and elegant dining), Father Rooster, on the beach in nearby Ocotal was fun and offered good burgers and nachos if you missed American food. North Pacific Tours took my husband and grandson out for a day of fishing...no marlins, but the little guy was thrilled with his catches: skipjack tuna, jack cravalle and a huge needlefish. We did our first zip-line at the Congo Trail...finally got to see the howler monkeys (lots of big noises from small monkeys). The Tempisque River Cruise was a great day...from the capuchin monkeys who climbed aboard the boat looking for bananas, to fruit bats, to the huge croc, King Solomon, who had a good part of his snout missing. On to a buffet of traditional Costa Rican foods, probably our best meal of the trip. But, Guaitil Pottery was a bust...literally almost every piece broke by the time we got home, or leaked the first time using it. Africa Mia was awesome...an open jeep ride to view about a hundred species of mostly African herbivores with zebras and giraffes who would eat out of your hand...or off your head, if you could balance a carrot there. Photo ops abound...the surf at Tamarindo, the volcano at Ricon de la Vieja, lots of beautiful sunsets. We visited at the end of the dry season so the days were sunny and hot (high 80's-mid 90's). There's no rain, so the landscape was mostly shades of brown, not a green rainforest...that comes in the wet season. The sun sets at @ 6:30 pm year round. After a busy day you are ready to wind down early and the kids go to bed much easier when it is dark. It was a wonderful vacation that we quickly made into a memory book with the hundreds of pictures we took...thank you!
