Rensselaerville Cabin Rental Photos and Description

2 BR, 1 BA, sleeps 6

Want To Get Away For a While ?

Be our guest in a real log cabin tucked away in the high country of the Catskill Mountains. This cabin has six rms and a screened porch:

2 Bedroom, Living & Dining Room, Full Bath, Kitchen, Screen Porch.

Sleeps 6 people comfortably: 1st bedroom has queen bed, 2nd

bedroom twin beds and the living room a queen size sleep sofa.

The cabin sits on 32 wooded acres which has it's own tranquil beaver

pond. Enjoy our outside firepit under the stars.

This area holds whitetail deer, bear, turkey and several species of small game, upland birds as well as freshwater fish so fishing and hunting is in abundance here in Preston Hollow. If Skiing is your thing it is a short 20 min drive to Windham and Hunter mountains a bit longer to Belleayre & Platterkill. This is a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of crowded slope side lodging. You can drive to the baseball Hall of Fame, Howe & Secret Caverns and it's only minutes to the Zoom Flume water park.

There are several picture postcard golf courses in surrounding communities.

Major NYS snowmobile trails are within minutes of this Cozy Cabin.

Winter Months: Between December and March.

If you plan your stay during these months you should plan on snow. The cabin is at an elevation that recieves snow when most forecast for this area call for rain. Dress for winter, including snow boots.

The road is a private road that we pay to have plowed. There is a 'one time' plowing fee accessed to each rental during the winter months. That means you pay the $75 fee once during your stay, even if the plow comes 3 times while you are there. Plowing is done on an as needed basis and there is no salt and sand treatment of the road. If you here a horn beep outside, it is the plow driver asking you to move your vehicle so he can clear the driveway. Please comply and move your vehicle as soon as possible.

Four Wheel or All Wheel drive vehicles are recommended during this time.

Best month ever

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this little slice of heaven for a month and it was the most relaxing vacation. The location, the cabin, the land around it and the neighbors were wonderful.

The cabin itself is beautifully decorated and has everything we needed to live comfortably. The beds are dreamy and because it is so quiet we were always incredibly rested. My seven year old son enjoyed exploring the property with our two dogs, finding berries and spotting deer, owls and numerous critters. The landscape around the cabin is beautifully maintained and the firepit was a huge plus for many s'more making evenings. My favorite feature was the screened porch though. It is in the shade so significantly cooler throughout the day and bug free. My dogs loved it too.

There are many hiking spots close by, adorable towns to explore, fun kid activity places such as waterparks and mini golf not a far drive. If you enjoy antiquing this is the spot to be, everywhere you drive are treasures to be found. Down the road is Paulina who runs a vegetable and fruit stand with the most amazing produce and many local farms offer food to be bought too, some doing Sunday brunches too.

If you ever want to get away from it all this cabin is all you need. You can do as much or as little as you want and this cabin will be a perfect spot to stay in. The best part is that it's only a couple of hours out of NYC!!

Great Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here with my husband and dog over 4th of July weekend. We enjoyed everything about the cabin and the area! Anything you could need for the weekend was at the cabin -kitchen supplies, linens, DVDs, and the bottle of wine! Our dog loved the screen porch and roaming the property, especially over near the beaver pond; he never wanted to come inside. We grilled almost all of our meals and enjoyed the fire pit at night. Paul was super accommodating and we definitely hope to visit again. Thank you Paul!!

Would live here!

  • 5 of 5

Heaven! The cabin is secluded and wonderfully quiet. There is seriously everything you could need in the kitchen, even the turkey baster! The bed was wonderfully comfy and the porch was bliss on a warm, but insect strewn so we appreciated the netting, evening. If you need a bit of peace and quiet without roughing it then get yourself here!!!

This was to be our last weekend away as we leave the States after two years here and it was pretty much the perfect place for it.

Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and two of our close friends rented Paul's wonderful cabin for a weekend in October and had the most amazing time! The cabin is absolutely perfect for a cozy couple's getaway. We snuggled by the campfire and made smores to go along with the burgers we grilled on the outdoor grill. The cabin is secluded and very peaceful with everything you could want to escape the hectic city for a little while. I would recommend it to anyone and would definitely go back! Thanks so much for a great weekend, Paul!

Get away from it all in an idyllic country setting

  • 5 of 5

Wow! the 4 of us had the best little getaway ever! This house is true to its pictures and description. It had EVERYTHING one would need to sleep, cook, & start up the firepit! We made up a new game called Bocce around the property!!! The amount of land was plenty to play, hang out, and explore. The trees surrounding the area kept the place so tranquil and COOL! The firepit...what can we say except we practically didn't even need the house. We spent so much time around the campfire, cooked on it, played the guitar, sang, ate, and admired the stars. There were some ATV riding but it didn't bother us much. I even went for a run and the clean mountain air was amazing.

We never believe when home descriptions say they have everything so we brought a lot of our own condiments and kitchen tools..but we really DIDN'T need to bring anything else!

Paul had a nice note and a bottle of wine left for us. "The Bible" had everything you would need to get around and get anything you would need.

This truly was an amazing time away and we did NOT want to leave! We plan on returning!!!

A beautiful cabin and a great experience

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was beautiful and immaculately kept, and was incredibly cozy and very well-stocked. We had an amazing time, and enjoyed the wood-burning stove and walking in the woods with our dog especially. Paul, the owner, was extremely communicative, and very friendly. This time of year, there was some ATV activity through the trails nearby, which could be noisy, but it was not sustained and didn't particularly bother us. I'd definitely stay here again, and recommend it to friends.
