About John

Our names are Bill & Tricia Meier and we are the proud owners of these beautiful Cowlitz River Cabinsi. Each is named appropriately, starting with the RAINIER LOG HOUSE, THE ADAMS CHALET, THE ST HELEN’S COTTAGE.

As far back as our dating years, we had dreamed of moving out of the city of Olympia and building a log house somewhere high in a mountainous area. About 10 years ago, we got serious and started our search throughout Washington and Oregon for land that would be just the right fit for us. Within a year we stumbled onto this piece of ground and it was love at first site. Finding these 8 acres of land was the beginning of making our dreams come true. Within 2-years of our purchase, we packed up our belongings and moved out to our 8 acre piece of Packwood Heaven.

Why John chose Randle

The first of our cabins to be built was the Rainier Log House. Our plan had always been to purchase a log house kit, but Bill decided he desired an AUTHENTIC log house and he wanted to master the construction himself from top to bottom. So after purchasing a used boom truck and enough logs from a neighbor logging who was logging his property, Bill was on his way. The Rainier Log House was his first masterpiece. Next came THE ST. HELENS COTTAGE and THE MT. ADAMS CHALET soon followed.

It has all been an adventurous labor of love. We hope, whichever of our beauties you choose, you will make memories to last forever.

Beautiful and comfortable cabin

  • 5 of 5

Stocked kitchen for all your cooking needs to start with, adventure starts in the back yard with a short walk to the river. 30-40 min drive to white pass where we went two days in a row where we had a blast! Came back and relaxed in the hot tub which was very inviting. 10 min drive in either direction for dining and geocerie stores(which where pretty good cost wise). Just chillin in the cabin at night next to the fire place...we loved it. And John who manages the cabin was very friendly and easy to deal with. Excellent WA experience from this thankful family from oahu. Thx again🤙?🏽?

Beautiful cabin, beautiful area. A few minor suggestions

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was beautiful, especially loved the porch area, and the playground outside.Loved that all the basic amenities were provided. Wish that the river access was a little easier Terrain, or at least a little better maintained, it was a long trek through a narrow, blackberry brambled path with hills that no middle-age woman with a three-year-old and a river float in tow should have to climb.

Spectacular cabin!

  • 5 of 5

Our group of six family members and two dogs unanimously highly recommend this wonderful cabin!

We enjoyed the Cowlitz River, the garden, the hot tub, and in general, the comfy digs! We made good use of the well-equipped kitchen as well.

It was a great location and we enjoyed the drive through the national park

on our way to majestic Mount Rainier with its beautiful wild flowers.

All the way back we talked about returning to the cabin and the national park in the near future. Next time we will stay longer.
