About The Owner

This has been such a fun retirement project for my husband. This is a 1938 farm house that he has totally renovated. The home has a great history. He has gone in and remodeled and/or restored everything. All furnishings/appliances/fixtures are new. We love the Maggie Valley/Waynesville area where we have two larger homes that we built for our children and our 4 grandchildren to enjoy. We have made many great memories and hope to make many more. My grandparents always brought me here when I was a child and I want to have those same memories for my grandchildren. We hope you enjoy our home as much as we do.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2006

Why The Owner chose Maggie Valley

We could have not asked for a more suitable place for a getaway. It has everything my husband and I wanted. You are 20 minutes from Maggie Valley and Waynesville. 35 minutes from Asheville and 45 minutes from Gatlinburg. We are located where you can get to anywhere you need, but, also can enjoy the peace and tranquility of country living.

What makes this cabin unique

Our home is pet friendly, extremely motorcycle friendly, we both ride, and most importantly grandchildren friendly. Great area to hike and enjoy the scenery.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This was a wonderful, relaxing experience in this cabin. It was like new, very clean and cozy. The porches were a treat to sit and visit and watch the fireflies in the evenings and the hot tub was a blessing after 250 and 300 miles motorcycle rides in this most beautiful area. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. The business side was very professionally conducted, yet very personal and I will look forward to visiting their cabin again. The waterfall in the backyard and the views were wonderful. There was everything we could have wanted or needed supplied in the cabin and all like new. The cabin's decor was so cute and it was obvious that a lot of thought, time and expense has gone into making this little cabin a relaxing retreat. Thanks so much for letting us visit your cozycreekcabin.

What a gem!

I have never been in a rental home that is so well equipped with anything and everything you can need! The house was very clean. The beds were comfortable. The hot tub on the back deck was perfectly set so you can hear the waterfall that is behind the home. You can control the temperature very easily and that's awesome when it's 7 degrees outside! The rooms are a good size and we were never cramped. (Group of five people went.) I would 100% recommend it. The only complaint I have is that it's close to a semi busy road, BUT that was also a plus when it snowed because we were able to get out of the driveway easily.

The owners were wonderful!! Anytime I had a question, it was answered quickly. Got the deposit back in a very timely manner.

Again, wonderful cabin! Thanks for everything!!

Owner's Response: Thank you for all the nice comments. We do hope that you visit again. Also, hopefully, the road will not be that busy, as it is just a country road. But, with I-40 closed due to a rockslide they have detoured some by the home. This should be completed in a month. Thanks again - Kathy & Stan

Home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

The pictures do no do it justice. What a wonderful cabin! Four of us shared the 2 bedrooms for a week very comfortably. We enjoyed the hot tub the first night and took advantage of the grill. The house had everything we could have needed. We took day trips to Asheville, Cherokee and Gatlinburg. We hiked waterfalls and took in some gambling and shopping. I would like to return another time of year just to see the ever-changing scenery. What a memorable trip! Thank you Kathy for a a wonderful transaction. Everything was superb. I hope to make it back again!

My Husband and rented this cabin to take a ride on the Polar express train in Bryson City This cabin is very cozy and clean. The hot tub was crystal clear and clean. The creek is a very nice view to wake up to. The owners are very quick to respond and easy to work with. Would recommend this little peaceful place and we will be back!

BEAUTIFUL CABIN

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I wanted a nice, quiet little get-away from all the hustle and bustle of life and this was it!! The cabin was very well kept, clean, and had all amenities needed. The owner's were great in telling you what you needed to bring. The hot tub was fantastic and our dogs loved the back porch to sit and chill while my husband and I hung out in the hot tub. The cabin is only about 25-30 minutes away from Asheville and some smaller little towns (Canton and Waynesville), but far enough out that you feel as though you are having a truly mountain experience. The ONLY negative would be that the cabin is close to the road, however, in all honesty, it's a little country road so there is not a lot of traffic. Also, some of the towels and wash cloths smelled a little sour, as though they had been left in the washer too long; but nothing that we couldn't fix! Other than that, this cabin was all that we hoped for! We truly enjoyed ourselves. We didn't get a chance to write in the guestbook there and share our experience so we wanted to do it here! The first day we road the Blue Ridge Parkway and hiked some trails. The next day, we had a scheduled tour at the Biltmore. It was beautiful. Before our tour, we went to Asheville and had lunch at Pack's Tavern (this place is a must). All in all, our little vacation was absolutely wonderful and the owner's of this cabin attributed to that. I would definatley recommend this awesome gem to anyone wanting a quick get-away or nice long vacation. Thank you again for your hospitality!!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your review and we are glad you enjoyed your stay. I wish you had let me know about the towels when you arrived, as I would have had housekeeping take care of that, immediately. I can't fix something I don't know about. I am glad it wasn't an issue for your stay. Yes, the cabin sits back off the road, a small country road not often traveled. If you are lucky you can see one of the wagon trains that go by. We have been lucky enough to see that a few times and it is a great sit to see. No houses or cabins around. You have to walk out to the road and look up to your right to even see the next house. Thanks again - The Owners

Great mountain escape!

  • 5 of 5

We loved this cabin and the location. What a gem the Brown's have here! We spent a few days here and were so sad when it was time to leave. This cabin has everything you need, it's your home away from home. The remodeling of this 1938 cabin is amazing. Every comfort you need with a great cabin feel. The creek and the waterfall will make you relax and enjoy the property even more! I can close my eyes and still hear the sound of the moving water! The hot tub was also a plus and a great way to end a day! Please don't hesitate to rent this cabin. The only bad thing I can say is, after renting it you will not want to leave it! We intend to go back! Have had several friends ask about it too!!

Love this cabin!

  • 5 of 5

I don't know how I missed the fact that this cabin was built in 1938, but we discovered when we checked in. What a great job remodeling the Brown's did! I have to mention that for our entire week stay, we were focused on hurricane Matthew making its way to our home and our friends and families homes. Needless to say, our stress levels were high. Not your normal vacation to say the least, but amongst the worrying, there wasn't anywhere we'd rather have been besides this quaint and serene cabin. The backyard, creek and waterfall was just what we needed to ease our anxiety, and if you have a dog, they will love it too! I had brought a crockpot and some cooking items only to find that it wasn't necessary, since the cabin is so well stocked. If you ride, and are leary of those switchback dirt and gravel roads climbing a mountain like I am, you will really appreciate the ease of access to this property. We will definitely be back, and hopefully under different circumstances, so we can truly relax and appreciate this adorable cabin to it's fullest. Thank you Kathy for all the quick responses and communication, it was very much appreciated. Best regards, Honey Bolea
