About The Owner

This has been such a fun retirement project for my husband. This is a 1938 farm house that he has totally renovated. The home has a great history. He has gone in and remodeled and/or restored everything. All furnishings/appliances/fixtures are new. We love the Maggie Valley/Waynesville area where we have two larger homes that we built for our children and our 4 grandchildren to enjoy. We have made many great memories and hope to make many more. My grandparents always brought me here when I was a child and I want to have those same memories for my grandchildren. We hope you enjoy our home as much as we do.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2006

Why The Owner chose Maggie Valley

We could have not asked for a more suitable place for a getaway. It has everything my husband and I wanted. You are 20 minutes from Maggie Valley and Waynesville. 35 minutes from Asheville and 45 minutes from Gatlinburg. We are located where you can get to anywhere you need, but, also can enjoy the peace and tranquility of country living.

What makes this cabin unique

Our home is pet friendly, extremely motorcycle friendly, we both ride, and most importantly grandchildren friendly. Great area to hike and enjoy the scenery.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This was a wonderful, relaxing experience in this cabin. It was like new, very clean and cozy. The porches were a treat to sit and visit and watch the fireflies in the evenings and the hot tub was a blessing after 250 and 300 miles motorcycle rides in this most beautiful area. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. The business side was very professionally conducted, yet very personal and I will look forward to visiting their cabin again. The waterfall in the backyard and the views were wonderful. There was everything we could have wanted or needed supplied in the cabin and all like new. The cabin's decor was so cute and it was obvious that a lot of thought, time and expense has gone into making this little cabin a relaxing retreat. Thanks so much for letting us visit your cozycreekcabin.

Perfect getaway for a long weekend!

  • 5 of 5

We rented the cabin for a long weekend away, and it was perfect. The cabin is beautifully decorated and well kept. We liked the feeling of being secluded, yet not that far away from stores and restaurants if we needed to get anything or decided to go out to eat. The location is great - several places just a day trip away. I was delighted to find bird seed, as I am an avid birdwatcher, and your bird-friendly tree in the front yard was a bonus, even at this time of year. We enjoyed the hot tub, and the ability to have our dog sit on the deck with us as we relaxed. The kitchen was well-stocked, and there were plenty of towels. We got . Kathy was easy to work with, and we got our security deposit refunded very quickly. We are already thinking about returning in warmer weather for longer than a weekend. Thanks to the owners for sharing your lovely cabin.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much. We are very glad that you enjoyed your stay and look forward to you returning again soon. We love our cabin and the accessibility to everything. If you didn't get to visit Ferguson's General Store just a mile up the road, it has great breakfast and burgers. We will get them and bring back to eat on the deck. Such a neat old timey general store. The birds are a plus! We love watching them. Thanks again.

What a gem!

  • 5 of 5

I have never been in a rental home that is so well equipped with anything and everything you can need! The house was very clean. The beds were comfortable. The hot tub on the back deck was perfectly set so you can hear the waterfall that is behind the home. You can control the temperature very easily and that's awesome when it's 7 degrees outside! The rooms are a good size and we were never cramped. (Group of five people went.) I would 100% recommend it. The only complaint I have is that it's close to a semi busy road, BUT that was also a plus when it snowed because we were able to get out of the driveway easily.

The owners were wonderful!! Anytime I had a question, it was answered quickly. Got the deposit back in a very timely manner.

Again, wonderful cabin! Thanks for everything!!

Owner's Response: Thank you for all the nice comments. We do hope that you visit again. Also, hopefully, the road will not be that busy, as it is just a country road. But, with I-40 closed due to a rockslide they have detoured some by the home. This should be completed in a month. Thanks again - Kathy & Stan

Awesome getaway!!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was amazing!! If your looking for a quaint cabin this is the one!! Some people have commented about it being close to the road, but it is still far enough away from the traveled road (the old road dead ends which makes the driveway). Cabin is perfect for those with disabilities just 3 steps to the front door and only 1 step out to the back deck. Everything inside is all one level. Sitting on the back deck to the sounds of the waterfall was so amazing!! The stars at night from the deck and hot tub were amazing!! The cabin had EVERYTHING you would ever need to cook with. The owner was wonderful to work with and allowed us to bring our fur babies. Plenty of running space for them and a gated back deck so they could sit with us and not worry about them. Close to Maggie Valley, Cherokee, Blue Ridge Parkway and SO much more. We will DEFINITELY be back!!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your review. We love our little cabin and it is perfect to us too. It is out in the country on a not so traveled road. We also love to watch the stars at night and the cows in the morning on the mountainside. Hope you visit again soon. Thanks!

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I rented the cabin for our annual Christmas holiday. It was perfect. We enjoyed everything about this place. The bed was very comfortable. The thing we look for when renting a cabin is privacy. The creek out back, the fire-pit, and hot-tub were wonderful. We grilled steaks on Christmas day and enjoyed watching the cows each morning from the front porch. I noticed several reviewers said that it was on a busy road....it is at the end of a road where another road leads to I40. I can promise you we were never bothered by noise. The kitchen is the best stocked kitchen I have ever seen. The cabin is easily accessible from I40 and we ate at Joey's Pancake House in Maggie Valley several times. We also explored Waynesville. The downtown was super cute on Christmas Eve with last minute shoppers. Working with the owners was easy and they were very accommodating and our deposit was refunded very quickly. We hope to come back next year!

Home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

The pictures do no do it justice. What a wonderful cabin! Four of us shared the 2 bedrooms for a week very comfortably. We enjoyed the hot tub the first night and took advantage of the grill. The house had everything we could have needed. We took day trips to Asheville, Cherokee and Gatlinburg. We hiked waterfalls and took in some gambling and shopping. I would like to return another time of year just to see the ever-changing scenery. What a memorable trip! Thank you Kathy for a a wonderful transaction. Everything was superb. I hope to make it back again!
