About Shiela Avakian

My family has vacationed at Dillon Beach for the last 35 years and we love it. My father loved the salmon and halibut fishing, my husband the golf, my son the beach and I love the relaxing atmosphere Dillon Beach provided.

Shiela Avakian purchased this house in 1995

Why Shiela Avakian chose North Coast California

We purchased this home in Dillon Beach because we love the tranquility and peacefulness that we experience when we are there. There is an abundance of wildlife around to view from the house including deer that roam the neighborhood. You can relax when you want, but you are still close to the big city. You can take day trips to Napa Valley, Sonoma, and the Russian River. We are close to Petaluma, Bodega Bay, Marshall, Occidental, Sebastapol, Jenner, Point Reyes, Tomales Bay, Marin, Guerveville, and the Muir Woods.

What makes this house unique

Dillon Beach has a great beach that is still pet friendly. You can enjoy the miles of sandy beaches or explore the tide pools and rock cliffs. We are 60 miles north of San Francisco and 45 minutes from the Wine Country. There is great fishing, surfing, beach combing, boogie boarding, clamming, crabing, hiking, biking, whale watching and golfing available.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This was a very relaxing trip. The house was big enough for everybody to have their own space and enjoy our family reunion. The beach was beautiful. We enjoyed the deer wondering through the neighborhoods and the wildlife that we were able to observe. We especially liked the fenced backyard for the kids. The kitchen was large and capable of handling all our cooks. We had a great time and can't wait to come back next year.

We have stayed at this house several times over the last ten years. It is large enough to accommodate are large family including visiting friends. This is our "go to" place for our salmon fishing out of Miller's Landing or the short drive to Bodega Bay. The stainless steel sink/table makes it quick and easy to clean our catch. We BBQ our catch and have used their "egg poacher" to cook our son's "first" caught salmon. What a feast! This kitchen has everything you could possibly need to cook large family dinners from dinner plates, flat ware, cups, glasses, pots n' pans, mad lots of many items we don't even have in our own home. We finish the day by soaking in the glorious hot tub!!! We have plenty of comfortable room to sleep everyone and feed everyone. It's just a warm, inviting home that shows that it is well cared for with the visitor's comfort in mind. Our family loves this place and we will continue staying here each year with our large family for many years to come.

Beach House for ALL

  • 5 of 5

This house is spacious and immaculate. Kitchen is large and has everything needed to cook. Also has a b-b-q in the back yard. Each day we did something different--drive to S.F., or up and/down the beautiful coast, over to wine country, checked out quaint little towns and their antique shops, fished and just walked along the beach. Enjoyed the Jacuzzi at the end of each day. Even saw deer that came up to the yard. There were 12 people of all ages in our group and plenty of room for everyone. Very relaxing stay.

Another great vacation at the Beach

  • 5 of 5

Great Beach home for large families. Had a great time and enjoyed all the room the house provided. Very big kitchen that is stocked with everything a person needs to cook a big meal. So nice to have a dog friendly beach that still exists. Hard to find in other places. Another great vacation had by all.

Great stay!

  • 4 of 5

We had an awesome stay at Pirate's Cove. The house accommodated our big group very comfortably — the kitchen and dining area in particular is enormous, and can easily fit everyone for cooking, hanging out and eating. The views from the dining room are awesome! We walked to the beach one day — about a 15 minute walk down the hill — and spent the morning in the sun. The hot tub was the perfect way to end the afternoon, too. To top it off, Shiela was incredibly accommodating and kind — even answering phone calls while we were there to answer any questions we might have about the house. Overall, a truly awesome experience. So glad we did it!

Fathers Day family reunion

  • 5 of 5

We rented this incredible house for a Fathers Day family reunion. We selected this property because it was large enough to handle our family comfortably. Upon our arrival we found a spacious, clean well-maintained home and property to be ready for our immediate use, and everything you could ask for in a vacation rental.

After a day of beautiful walks on the beach, the kids flew kites, while the adults enjoyed a warm and wonderful hot tub in the privacy of a fenced back yard. Great views, the view of the bay was spectacular. In addition to some fun fishing, we found a golf coarse close by, while some of our party discovered several quaint towns with little antique shops, nestled in nearby areas.

We found the kitchen to be large enough to handle all our cooks. The double oven and huge cook top came in very handy as did the BBQ in the back yard. We have never rented a house with all the kitchen and cooking supplies that this home had. We were able to have sit down dinners for 12 with no problems.

The sleeping accommodations were over the top, plenty of privacy for everyone. There were amble beds, bedding, linens, and towels.

Overall this is a fabulous home. One that shows a lot of owner care and pride. It is a great home for extended families and groups of friends.. We had a very relaxing trip and our family hopes to be able revisit this paradise!
