Cozy and Clean
Very cozy and spotless. Everything you need in a beautiful location at an excellent value.
Great home base for our Northern California adventures!
Remote location surrounded by beautiful, quiet nature. It is indeed a cozy cabin. My husband and 7-year-old son had a great time. My son loved the loft!
Off the beaten path...nice!!
First, thank you for the detailed directions on getting to the cabin. It’s tucked away on beautiful, narrow, heavily treed roads and GPS would never have gotten us to the cabin. Upon arrival, I have to honestly say I was a bit off put by all the signs and rules that said we’d be charged if various things happened, namely, walking in the cabin with shoes and not properly sorting recycling. My husband took the positive side and I eventually followed and I’m very glad I did! Chairs are provided on the porch for taking off and putting on shoes and it became easy to sort the trash. Everything is really recyclable, I learned. The cabin is very clean and comfortable. There is no microwave, so just be aware. There is, however, a toaster oven. Jeffery, the host, is very personable and checked with us to see if we needed anything and he was very thoughtful to me in recommending a book for me to read about a personal health concern I mentioned. I appreciated that.
I loved the drive to the cabin. It wasn’t long, but long enough to make us feel like we were remote.
Next to, but not visible from, the cabin is the Healing Hive, a cozy cabin where Lisa gives massages if you schedule them. She is amazing! The price is fabulous and she is incredibly knowledgeable and in touch with her customer’s needs.
I have two suggestions. One, please replace the cracked toilet seat. The tape just doesn’t seem sanitary. And two, a trash can in the bathroom would be useful.
We had a very lovely stay at the Cozy Cabin. It’s very close to all the places to take in the Redwoods and the beautiful, rugged, Northern California coast.
There were a couple of maintenance issues that needed to be addressed, but otherwise it is a very cozy and warm cabin
The cabin retreat was exactly what we were looking for. It was peaceful, beautiful and cozy.
The location of the cabin was just right, close to Beach, hiking and downtown Arcata. We were able to visit with family and friends in area and host a small dinner get together which was super fun. The weather was mixed with Sun and rain but that made staying in the warm cozy cabin even more enjoyable. We will recommend to friends and plan to come again for another vacation!
Fabulous Cozy Cabin!
My husband and I decided to get away from the Bay Area for Christmas and rented Cozy Cabin. Best. Choice. Ever!
The directions to get to the cabin were perfect - the immediate left off the highway under the culvert is immediate, we missed it the first time!
The cabin was spotless and adorable. I kept our suitcase in the upstairs loft which created more lounging space downstairs. The downstairs bed is super comfy, a definite plus in my travel world! The kitchen is fully equipped. For all the coffee drinkers, there's an electric pot and a French Press. ( I brought our cones as we are 'pour-over' snobs.... :) ) It did lack a can opener so bring one if needed! The wood stove kept the cabin warm every night so we barely used the heater. Jeff provides all the wood and kindling you'll need.
It poured buckets Christmas Eve day which was fabulous! Being in the cabin with the fire burning in the stove, incredible fresh air scents all around from ALL the redwood trees helped to create a magical experience. The full moon shining through the trees that night was amazing.
If you are a craft beer fan, there are numerous great breweries in the area. Definitely check out Jacob and his Farm Beer at Regeneration in McKinleyville!
Christmas day was sunny so we explored! We drove up the coast a bit to Prairie Creek State Redwood Park has some GREAT hiking trails and Elk viewing!
We are definitely planning to rent this cabin again. The drive from the Bay Area is easy and beautiful!
Have fun and enjoy!
Thank you for the great feedback Debi. We are so glad you got to take in the magic of this redwood coast and all the wet & wonderful ambiance of it all. Looking forward to your return someday.
