Serenity awaits you at the Luxury Log Cabin located just 12.25 miles from the heart of Athens. This cabin was built 16 years ago and is located on a private 20 acre watershed lake.
No matter what brings you here you will enjoy the solitude of being the only home on the lake. Many visitors come just to get away from the daily grind but most come here to be close to UGA activities! You can watch the game from the comfort of the cabin or be in the middle of Sanford Stadium in minutes.
While you are here you may enjoy fishing in the lake where there is an abundance of Brim, Crappy, Bass, and Catfish. You can sleep late and awaken to the beauty of the lake through the master bedroom window. The kitchen is fully stocked for any occasion. You can relax on the wraparound porch and enjoy meals indoors or out.
Theaters, shopping, you name it and it's there. The Commerce Outlet Malls are only 10 minutes from our home in case you have shopping on your mind!
After dinner, you can relax by the lake and enjoy s'mores by the campfire as you unwind from the day. Hmmm...sounds good!

I grew up on the 60 acre farm that surrounds this beautiful cabin. I built the cabin and lived there during college at UGA. AFter college it became a family getaway until I decided to share it with others through vacation rental.
Jamie Ramsey purchased this cabin in 1996
We are the third generation of my family to own this property. The home is located on a private watershed lake that was built in the 1960's.
I just wanted to let you know how much we are enjoying the cabin. My oldest son has Asperger's and is very sensitive to smells, bugs, and what ever else he perceives as not being clean. He said he could live here! That is a huge compliment!!! Said it was best place he's ever been. The other three kids having a great time too!
We enjoyed our stay. The cabin was clean and well stocked. The master bed was super soft and comfortable. The loft area was perfect for the kids! Direct TV, wifi, games and movies for relaxing. If you like scary movies be sure to bring cabin in the woods! Deck and outdoor areas have ample seating, perfect for eating outside or just enjoying nature. Beautiful view of the lake! Love this place, it was easy to book and the owner responded great to all of my inquiries prior to our arrival.
Overall we had a wonderful time, and we thoroughly enjoyed the place. A couple of things I would like to mention......I have mobility issues, so there were some limitations. My walker did not fit through the bathroom doors. A stand alone shower would have felt safer for me. Getting in and out of the tub was risky. A big help would be a railing on the steps by the back door.
We did have a problem with the Internet connection. That was a disappointment. Not sure if you had any control over that.
In the kitchen, I think some things could have been cleaner. Some of the shelves need cleaning, and the waffle iron had food caked on it. It took some hunting to find the cord for the electric griddle. For the amount of money we paid, I expected a bit better.
The towels were super soft; the beds were very comfortable, the setting was gorgeous, and we were able to find what we wanted on the tv (we wanted to watch some obscure soccer events...which we could!). Having laundry facilities was a big help. The "boys" all enjoyed the fishing.
As I said, overall, it was lovely!
We stayed in the beautiful cabin with my niece and her family for the GA Spring Game. We had a great time sitting on the porch, roasting marshmallows, riding in the boat and kayaks, hiking through the woods and grilling out. The cabin has a wonderful view of the lake. We never turned the TV on! I would recommend this cabin and owner. The owner made it very easy to access with key and remote for the gate. The kitchen had every thing we needed to make breakfast each morning. We are looking forward to returning to the quiet woods and wonderful cabin.
Hoping it is available in the fall,
We celebrated our family Christmas at this wonderful log cabin and it was perfect for our family. It was very clean, kitchen was well stocked, and furnished very nicely and comfortable. We had two small dogs with us and there was a large pen behind the house for them to play in. The owner's mother lives nearby and she was available for any questions or needs we might have. The cabin is in a quiet and peaceful setting on a lake and surrounded by woods. We were far enough away from the business community to enjoy the quiet but close enough to grocery stores, drug stores, etc. for anything we might have forgotten. Also, Athens is one of our favorite places to visit for art, music, and great food. We will definitely be back and look forward to relaxing at Athens Log Cabin Getaway.
We stayed two nights in this wonderful cabin. We loved the layout of the place. It was quiet, clean and well maintained. We used the boat, took a hike through the woods, sat in the swing looking out at the gorgeous view of the lake and just had an awesome time. We enjoyed the fireplace. The only inconvenience was having to bring up our own firewood. I would recommend this cabin and hopefully will return!
The cabin was just what I needed this weekend. It is secluded and surrounded by beautiful woods and overlooking the lake. It is clean and they have everything you could possibly need- even a food processor! The beds are so comfy and linens are soft as ever. The towels were those thick luxurious white hotel towels.
The owners are very responsive to our needs. We couldn't get the pack n play to work and they arrived in no time with a new pack n play for our baby.
I was able to work and they do have wifi with the wifi code posted clearly on the refrigerator. The TV is direct TV and it has a DVR so I was able to record my favorite shows to watch after the baby went to bed.
Although it was cold I bundled up and spent some time meditating on the wraparound porch in the zero gravity chairs. I thought only spas had those!
Cons: The fireplace was clean and beautiful but you do need to bring your own firewood. The water has a sulfur smell that gradually subsided during the stay but it is otherwise clear and normal. The owner tells me they are working on this to try to find a way to filter out the sulfur. This water was fine to use in cooking and for coffee but for plain drinking water we used bottled water that we brought.
Overall this cabin is wonderful and I can't wait to return!
