Our family of 5 (kids 9,7, and 5) stayed here for a long weekend. We settled right into the comfy home which has plenty of extra room if needed or you can just hang out in the upper floor which is what we did. We took a trip to Boothbay Harbor and to the botanical garden there; both an easy drive and great choices for a fun family day. The next day we just hung out on the lake. We spent the day jumping off the dock, taking the kayak out, and truly just relaxing. Our day ended with a bonfire in the huge fire pit they have set up right on the lake. The owners have done a phenomenal job of creating a beautiful and comfortable home that is easy to enjoy for a week or even for a quick getaway like we took.
With two young kids, we were looking for a vacation rental that would be comfortable, with enough space for all of us, and with a lawn, sandy beach and easy access into the lake for swimming. We found all of that, and more, at this house. The house is well appointed, comfortable, and easy to call "home" while on vacation. And the sloping grassy lawn and sandy access to the lake are almost incomparable. Lots of time playing games and blowing bubbles, making sand castles and wading into the water. Gorgeous siting on Damariscotta Lake, one of our favorite lakes in Maine. And pretty good fishing too! Really appreciated the easy access into Damariscotta (for trips to the farm stand, grocery store, restaurants, elementary school playground, ice cream) plus down the Pemaquid peninsula for hiking and Pemaquid light. Thanks, Cora and Brian!
We had a wonderful week in this great house. The beach location and unusually quiet lake are just brilliant for swimming, kayaking and fishing. Damariscotta is a delightful town. We can't wait to stay here again!
