great apartment

  • 5 of 5

We stayed 6 nights and the apartment was excellent. good location, close to tram stop that could take us to the main museums and to the central train station. Everthing is just about within walking distance and we walked everywhere. Jorge told us about a bus that took us to the airport for 5 euros and was within walking distance, evev pulling 2 suitcases. It was about 50 minutes to the airport but we didn't have to lug our bags to the train station then catch the train. very convenient. the apartment was very home feeling and we were very comfortable so much better than staying in a hotel room.. we spent our late afternoons and evenings sitting by the window watching people and boats going by. it was nice especially after a long day of sightseeing. whereever we go next, we just hope we can find a place like this. thanx again,

Great well equipped apartment

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was perfect for my husband and I during our 4 day stay. Sylvia met us at check in to introduce us to all we needed to know about the apartment. She was great, friendly, helpful, informative. The apartment was ideally located for strolling around the Jordaan. It was very well equipped with essentials and great extras such as tea, coffee, sugar, fruit, granola, water and two beers for us on arrival. Nice touches and would be delighted to stay here again.

Our stay September 2015

  • 5 of 5

This was our first trip to Amsterdam we found the booking process very easy and lots of information regarding how to get to apartment and what to see plus tips of things to do in Amsterdam. We arrived at the apartment we where greeted and show around and given milk ceral coffee and maps of Amsterdam. The apartment was 1 min walk from two tram lines not that you need it as it was a 15 min walk to dam square and around 10 mins to Ann franks house. Felt safe and secure loved looking out over canel watching the world go by on the rocking chair. Pity the photos does not do it justice. The only gripe I would have is the stairs (steep) but this is normal in Amsterdam. If we go back to Amsterdam this will be the first and probably the only place we would stay. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

Great, great, great place

  • 5 of 5

There are great comments after great comments about this wonderful apartment. Add our enthusiastic 5 stars, two thumbs up to the list. Was perfect for my wife and I during our 4 day stay. Expected it to be a very good place and it exceeded expectations. Sylvia met us earlier than the normal check in time to meet our time schedule and to introduce us to all we needed to know about the apartment. And she was wonderful...friendly, helpful, informative. Did everything she could to get us going on the right track and more. During our stay we needed some information and she was readily available, and responsive. Can't say enough good things about her and the comfort of this apartment. Others have described the amenities, location, convenience, etc. Agree with all of the positives noted. We hope to return to Amsterdam, and without doubt, or hesitation, will seek to stay in this fantastic place.

LOVED IT

  • 5 of 5

This apartment was perfect for the two of us. Lots of room, very bright, nice separate bedroom. It didn't feel like a rental, it felt like we were staying in a friend's flat while they were away. It was loaded with books and artifacts from around the world. Kitchen was great. It just had a wonderful feeling. Sylvia, who checked us in, couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. She emailed us information about how to get back to the airport via bus. There isn't a couch, but there is a large gray fold out chair. We spent all our time at the table overlooking the canal anyway! There is also a nice rocking chair. Be sure to eat at Foodism practically around the corner. There are markets, take away food places, and ethnic restaurants in the area. The neighborhood didn't feel touristy, it felt like a place where people actually live. The tram and bus stop are just down the street. There are 2 local cafe/bars on the street. I loved it. Not for families with young children, because the French windows open and there are no barriers on them.

First trip to Amsterdam. Home away from home.

  • 5 of 5

It was a lovely spot for our 4 nights in Amsterdam, after our river boat cruise. Much bigger than it looks on the pictures. Loved the floor to ceiling windows over the canal. Not much boat traffic, but we loved watching the ducks around their nest. That was extra entertainment. The bedroom was remarkably quiet, even though it was on the street side. If the trams run at night, they are very quiet. Very little auto traffic on the tram street. Black out curtains very helpful for the early AM sun. Only one flight up the steep usual Dutch steps. I was concerned about not seeing a couch near the TV on the pictures, but the large blue love seat and extra lounge chair were all we needed to watch late night TV. Besides we were too tired from all the sightseeing to stay awake late. We bought a 4 day tram pass and a museum pass and that was helpful for all our exploring. The tram stop is very close at the next corner. It is not a busy neighborhood. We felt safe and secure. Walking into the Jordan area was lovely. Many stores and restaurants within walking distance. All the items you might need are included and little "extra" treats appreciated. Thank you Jorge and Bernadette for sharing this apartment and for your quick responses. Greeting us on arrival and reviewing the apartment workings appreciated. You are the perfect hosts.
