So disapointed

  • 1 of 5

So many disappointing things with this property. The cabin that we stayed in was an after thought for the owners. It’s obviously not one of the main rentals and should not be rented at the price of the main cabin. There were 6 different salt and pepper shakers but no salt. The kitchen utensils, pots and pans, knives....oh boy. It was sparse and lacking. We used our old tin foil from our tortillas to fashion a tray to help heat up our food in the toaster oven.

When we first arrived the cabin was cold and smelled of cigarette smoke..like not just one cigarette but a lot of cigarettes were smoked inside. It was like being in a cave the lighting was soooo poor. We actually had to unscrew a lightbulb from another area to put in place of where a bulb had burned out to hopefully give us a just a speck more light. Our cell phone flashlights were our lighting source in kitchen so that we could find the buttons on the coffee maker.

There was supposed to be a hot tub....and it was dirty so the owners offered to clean it up and get it ready but it wouldn’t be ready for 24 hours. 24 hours out of the 48 hour stay? So sad. Then the tub had a leak so couldn’t be fixed. :(

There was supposed to be a wood burning stove. Sounds nice and toasty right? Well it turned out to be a wood cooking stove. :(. Again, so sad.

This cabin was not on the site. If it were and I saw what we were walking into I would have cancelled.

The cabin has three beds but will only accomadete a “close” family as the bathroom is in the middle of everything. So say you’re upstairs in the far back bedroom, you’ll have to walk through the other bedroom, go down the ladder and then you can use the bathroom. Leave the bathroom and enter the living area where the other bedroom is as well. Also there is a crazy ladder that you have to climb To get to the upstairs bed. If you are not stable on your feet or if you’re older I would not risk it. The lasee is not at an angle it is straight up.

Would not come back. Overly priced!

Let’s end on a positive note though, the property is beautiful. The creek is gorgeous and we did see some river otters. The owners are very nice. There’s cute chickens and peacocks running all throughout the orchard which was basically in our front yard just over the driveway . The other cabin that is actually available on this site is beautiful. That was the cabin we were supposed to have

Owner's Response: Firstly, this review is for the wrong cottage. If one reads the rest of the reviews that will become obvious which is why it is so starkly different. I'm a little surprised by it, namely because the couple who stayed seemed happy and content, never letting on for a moment that they were unhappy. They KNEW that they were NOT going to stay in the Piece of Heaven #226189, its was already booked, but we did give the lower price to the person who actually PAID for their stay. We normally close the hot tub toward the end of November (leaves falling, cold, etc) but we went out of our way to make it available to them. It's a very large, unique medieval style tub and takes most of the day to heat up due to it's size. This couple stayed in our other cottage #245470 and rather than address every last complaint, suffice to say we rarely get such a poor review. That cottage is listed with pictures and explanations. This feels more like an assault than a review and one would begin to question motive. Considering they did'nt pay for a thing they seem quite unappreciative for the gift. The person listed as the reviewer DID NOT stay on this property so this review was written in her name erroneously. Jacquie Robinson

We enjoyed the property so much, it was hard leaving...even just for a few hours of spectacular sight seeing and vineyard visiting!

Hospitality was amazing. The owner greeted us and introduced us to the animals on the property

The nature trail is fun and well kept, the property is beautiful and all the fresh fruit you could eat. Just open your cottage door and step into the orchard and pick your own fruit. The kitchen is small and doesn't have everything you would need but, it worked for us. I loved it my kids not so much aged 13,15,20 the internet was hit and miss and cell service was horrible. Short drive to Sedona, Jerome, and cottonwood.

Oak Creek

  • 4 of 5

Property was lovely, it's in an orchid with Oak Creek in the background great place to bring your dog, they had lots of chickens, peacocks and a turkey running around. The creek was really peaceful and a great get away.

Owner couldn't have been more hands on and very accommodating.

Owner's Response: We are blessed to have this place and enjoy our guests. And pets do love it here. During fruit season our guests are welcome to partake of the orchard as part of being our guests.

Perfect place to escape!

  • 5 of 5

We love this place! Perfect quiet grounds to relax and wander around! Kids loved it, dogs loved it, creek was perfect for playing in, and owners couldn't be nicer.. was our second time here, have stayed in both cabins, definitely liked the bigger one for more space and kids had a blast upstairs! Is kinda funky the ladder up in thru the bathroom, but hey, its a unique cabin! The smaller one was great when they were littler, and no stairs :) And all the fruit you can pick and eat- if it's ripe! Great location to Sedona and other destinations... Thanks for sharing your little piece of heaven with us! We'll be back! :)
