About the property

Awaken to the sounds of the surf, friendly colorful birds chirping on the windowsill, and smell the tropical aroma of fresh flowers in the garden. Have fresh fruit and coffee in the garden while dreaming of today's adventure. Set out for a relaxing stroll on the beach or sunbathe for awhile. As advertised! A delightful cozy home in a perfect location - already recommended to friends.

We had a great time - cozy, authentic Hawaiian in a beautiful (but not touristy) neighborhood stones throw to a beautiful beach with great swimming. We will be back!

We LOVED the Coconut Hut!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved the coconut hut! It was private, jungly and had lots of open space for the kids to explore safely. The house was clean and simple, beautiful views out each window.

The kids loved making friends with the cat, and were thrilled with all the chicks, toads, geckos, coconuts, etc. The hot tub was great on rainy evenings, and we used the BBQ most nights, though there were mosquitos at that hour.

We really appreciated the extras- washer and dryer a must, and it was great to fill up the cooler and load the car with beach gear each day for our adventures. Wifi was great for the little work we had to do from the laptop.

Great location- Annini Beach was the calmest of most October beaches we found, and had safe snorkeling for kids. Close for an easy drive to Hanalei, but felt more secluded and private than being right in town. We rented kayaks in Hanalei and paddled the Kalihiwai river, just down the road. So much fun. We will absolutely be back.

Communication with Ric was quick and easy. Thanks again!

Just the place for a lovely, relaxing week

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I stayed here for a week in August, 2017, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is sited in an exotically gorgeous garden, quiet except for the roosters, well-located on the north side of Kauai, and a 10-minute walk from grassy, shady Anini Beach Park. Even though it was humid and around 90', the open windows and ceiling fans kept the house comfortable. Prepared food is available at the Healthy Hut, off the road to Kilauea Lighthouse, and there are a couple of restaurants on that road. Be sure to drive to the end of it. The view from the lighthouse and wildlife sanctuary is among the best on the whole island! Ric is accessible by phone and text and is very helpful. On the downside, the beach equipment is pretty skimpy for 3 or 4 people: 3 masks and one snorkel, 2 bougie boards, 2 beach chairs. The total of two reading lights in the larger bedroom required a cell phone light to find things in the wardrobe. All in all, though, we had a lovely and relaxing stay at the Coconut Hut and brought home many wonderful memories.

What a wonderful home for our family on the beautiful north shore!

  • 5 of 5

The Coconut Hut far exceeded our expectations. The garden setting, well appointed kitchen and comfy beds made for a great vacation for our family of four. It has an opulent retro feel. Anini Beach is minutes away in foot, and all the charm of the north shore is a few minutes drive. We will surely return - Mahalo!!!

A Perfect Private Oasis on Kauai

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I, with my son and his wife, enjoyed a wonderful week at this charming cottage in early June. We all felt relaxed and stress-free at this very tranquil property. It had everything we needed and we enjoyed cooking in several nights and using the hot tub.

The pictures of this property really do not do it justice. It is even better than the photos! The comfortable bedrooms and baths are nicely appointed for couples privacy and have quality bedding and towels in abundance for the guests comfort. My husband and I had the room with the four poster bed with french doors to the hot tub and I enjoyed opening the doors during the day and night to let the air in.

We awoke refreshed each morning to the sounds of birds, roosters, the koi pond waterfall, and sometimes a cat's meow. Miss Honey, a neighborhood cat, was very sweet and we were happy to feed and pet her outside as if she was our home away cat.

After exploring other parts of the island during the week, we all agreed that it was the best spot for our vacation, especially with the short walk to beautiful Anini Beach and easy access to Princeville and Hanalei. This was our first visit to this island and if we ever have the opportunity to visit Kauai again, we would definitely return to stay at this incredible property. Aloha!
