Warren Cottage Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedrooms; 1 Full Bathroom; 1 Half Bathroom; Sleeps 5

Enjoy the peaceful calm of our cottage located in midcoast outside the quaint rural town of Union. 'Fog's Landing', is the name of our comfortable lakefront cottage and has a large front yard with firepit for those evening campfires down by the lake, hammocks to put up by the lake and dock to fish from, swim from or just sit out and listen to the 'quiet' on summer evenings. The lake has shallow entry, great for launching kayaks or canoe, which are provided with rental. The rustic cottage has the charm of a Maine lakehouse, with pine walls, hardwood floors and beautiful 'attic style' upstairs bedroom with its own 1/2 bath. The fully stocked kitchen comes with all those cooking necessities you left at home and dinners on the deck, which looks out on the yard and lake, is a must. Union is approximately 20 minutes from the quaint coastal towns of Camden, Rockport and Rockland and less than a 2 hour drive from the Portland Jetport and Bangor International Airport.

Cabin is small but airy, not cramped. Beds seem newish and are very comfortable. The floors are mostly bare wood, with an area rug in the den and carpeting in the master bedroom. Overly carpeted lake houses can get extra musty. The house is secluded and very well maintained. It's set back about forty yards from the water. There's a sloping lawn which leads to the waters edge. Flat enough near the lake to have a catch, enough of a rise to give the house a nice view. Surrounded by trees. Bona-fide fire pit. The kitchen is well appointed.

The property is on a large, knee deep shoal, so the swimming is fantastic for kids. The shallows get about 10 degrees warmer than the deeper parts of the lake. Water can get pretty cold in Maine so this is a plus. Crawford is a really fun lake to fish. The water's clear and the under-water terrain is super easy to read. We've stayed on Crawford twice. The first time the fishing was red hot. This last time the weather didn't make for the best fishing, but I still caught a few 3 pounders. Fish for Large Mouth Bass, Small Mouth Bass, White Perch, Pike

Very Important - go to Beth's Farm Market. Easily one of the best farm stands anywhere. It's only about 10 minutes away. Make sure to go as soon as you get to the house, but don't buy stuff for your entire stay. You'll want to go back a few times at least. Get the strawberry shortbread if it's berry season. Owner's Response: Great to hear that our renters have enjoyed Fog's Landing, as we have done everything we could to make the renters' experience a memorable one. Appreciate the nice review from Travis and we love having feedback! Its also nice to have renters who treat our cottage as if it were their own and leave it in great shape on their return. Union is a rural small town, surrounded by rolling green hills and lakes, and the town has a bank, small market, restaurant, post office, video and gift shop. Union is a short 25 minute drive from the coastal towns of Camden, Rockland and Rockport, where shopping, great restaurants and scenic ocean/bay vistas are found, along with ferry landings to daytrip to local islands.
