Beautiful private home close to okemo
We had an amazing long Easter weekend with family at this home. Okemo is minutes away, it was perfect for those skiing or snowboarding to get up and be on the mountain in minutes. The house has plenty of room for all. The two kitchens were helpful as we cooked everyday, both stocked well for any cooking needs. The bedrooms were nicely sized, the lower level was perfect for the young adults to disappear to at the end of the evening! We didn't use the hot tub, but that looked as if it was in good condition. Parking was spacious, a plus as we had some arriving at different times, so multiple cars at times... the absolute bonus was the snow mound on the side of the house!! Sledding down the hill after the day snowboarding was fun for the kids! We are absolutely planning another visit next season!
Cozy, clean and the perfect cabin
We were a group of 6 people and made a last minute decision to drive to Vermont and spend the thanksgiving weekend. When I reached to Phil regarding questions and recommendations, he was so prompt to answer all our questions. Upon reaching the cabin, we loved the look and the overall feel of it. It was warm, cozy and clean. The property is very well maintained and has all the appliances you would need for a comfortable stay. The location is great with okemo mountain nearby and restaurants/breweries!
I would highly recommend Phil’s property if you are looking for a wonderful vacay in Vermont. And lastly, would love to come back here!
Wonderful, convenient, comfortable home
We had plenty of space for seven adults and four children to celebrate a family birthday and spend time together. House is convenient Okemo and downtown Ludlow. There was plenty of space to stretch out but good communal space to come together for meals. If if I had one suggestion, it would be some new pillows for the beds and a cookie sheet for the kitchen. Otherwise, the hot tub was great fun and the home was excellent. I would definitely recommend it.
Thanks Karen for your reply. Per your advise, we have replaced all the pillows in the house with new, fresh bought pillows and added several cookie sheets under the stove. We appreciated your advise as we strive to make your stay with us as pleasant as possible.
It was a very beautiful house in an awesome location right next to the mountain. Very clean.
I have no complaints about this Home. It was gorgeous and spacious. It was a perfect getaway for a weekend and so close to the mountain. The hot tub was nice and clean as was the entire house. The only problem I had was not being able to get my car up to the house because of the snow which apparently happens a lot even to people who own the houses there. I wasn’t really warned of that, but I made it work and parked at the bottom of the hill by the main road. I would definitely stay here again.
The day that this Guest arrived the Noreaster Winter Storm Quiin had just dropped 18-24 inches of snow on Okemo Mountain in the prior 24 hours. While the Guest arrived to fantastic skiing conditions, the entire area was trying to keep up with the rapid snow accumulations that made travel difficult. Our house is located in a private subdivision called Farm Ridge and the Home Owners Association contracts out our snow plowing, which is typically very good but was obviously tested during this storm. Fortunately our home is near the bottom of the subdivision near Route 100 and it does not require a long drive to access our home. Front and All Wheel Drive cars do not have issues getting to our home. Generally rear wheel cars do not have an issue as the plow service sands the roads after they plow, but rear wheel drive cars might have an issue in a snow storm if they do not have snow tires. Had the Guest call me to tell me of the issue, I could have called the Associate to ensure the plow services were operating. Further, I have a local Caretaker who I employ who plows our driveway and who I give his phone numbers to every guest so if there is an issue and I cannot be reached, the Guest can contact him directly. In this case he could have come and plowed the subdivision's road up to my home had I know of the issue. I always try to ensure every Guest has a pleasant stay and wished that I had known that they had an issue.
Everything we hoped for!
This was a truly perfect ski stay experience. From the time of booking, through the week after staying there, the house and owner were perfect. The house is very clean and well furnished. No musty smell or any other bad attributes typically associated with a ski house. The hot tub was clean. There were plenty of supplies for the fireplace. The house was a super easy drive to the Jackson Gore base area at Okemo (which I like much better than the Clocktower base). Communication from the owner was excellent. After we had left, the cleaning service even found and mailed a lost wallet. I definitely would stay here on my next trip to Okemo.
