This condo is simply gorgeous with a 'drop dead' beautiful glassed in shower and soaker tub in the master en-suite bedroom, with a beautiful marble his and hers vanity and a private closet for the toilet. The kitchen area is also wonderful with a full size refrigerator, table top oven, all utensils and glasses etc. and a private balcony with a perfect view of the pool below. The condo features air conditioning, and also includes a large built in flat screen TV with DVD. The unit is 100% Wi-Fi at no cost. There is a built in washer and dryer for your use in one of the bedroom's closet. There is a great rooftop with palapas and a sunny view of Cancun. Lool Beh is within 1-2 miles of each world class beach that Isla features and about 1 mile from Garrafon Park, where you can swim with dolphins, try zip line flying, snorkeling etc. Something for everyone.

Our Favourite Restaurants in Isla Mujeres: There are many, many very good restaurants in Isla, and fyi a person cannot find a better breakfast town than in Isla Mujeres, any place on Hildago serves up a great breakfast meal.
Having said this, our favourite places to eat while in Isla are :
i) Olivia' Mediterranean taste and very moderately call ahead to make reservations. The owners Lior and Yaron are the nicest couple.. Please ask about Olivia's website.
iii) El Veradero .. a very unassuming Cuban restaurant that has delicious food !!
iv) Soggy a great fun place with a lot of character check out this place .. Fredy's ceviche is memorable.
I love sharing this little get away from the cold with travellers who want an injection of sunshine and saltwater and tropical sunsets over the Caribbean sea.
Caroline B purchased this condo in 2012
This property has an outstanding modern and attractive design. The master bedroom is very romantic with a king sized bed and a glassed in shower open to the room. The apartment itself is the only one in the building available with a private balcony overlooking the pool. If you're a walker, there is a wonderful stroll around the lagoon that is steps away and the big box grocery, Chedraui is a 10 minute walk. Being in the centre of the island is great because you're 10 minutes away from the delightful tourist attractions of the south as well as the world famous Playa Norte beach to the north. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
Quite, central, modern, pet friendly, close to Big Box grocery store Chedruai, close to good restaurants.
The condo is as advertised, it had good a/c and a bath tub which is hard to find in Mexico. A great rooftop view of the sunset and Cancun. This is a value if you dont mind staying about 3 miles from town. The neighborhood is a bit run down but the people there were pretty friendly. You will need to have a golf cart or car, which is quite expensive
A word of caution... Upon arriving at the island we were not met at the dock as promised. Stood waiting for an hour. We had to find condo ourselves and there was a man waiting there who spoke limited English. We never saw or heard from the owner the entire time we were there. the folks in the next condo had the same experience. Still, we enjoyed the island and being close to the snorkeling.
I'm almost a year late writing this review, but I would be remiss if I didn't do it. I stayed for a month last year. It was the perfect place to stay for that amount of time. The only complaint I had was the water pressure was almost nil in the shower, but it is such a small price to pay for everything else to be exactly as I needed. Great rental management people on the island who were always available whenever needed. Bill, the owner, made renting this place a breeze. The neighborhood was very quite, except on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, but that is to be expected. The people that rented the other units were great, different people each week, except for the artist who owned the unit above where I stayed. It was a short walk to the next block to grab a taxi and there was a nice little store for last minute items needed if one did not want to go all the into town. For anyone looking to travel for a long trip or short and would like to be away from the action, I would highly recommend staying here.
Bill is a fine owner, very helpful and professional! My wife and I were looking for a base for our Isla honeymoon recently, staying here for two weeks in January 2011. Bill was so present and reliable throughout the whole process, in fact, that I never once doubted him.
He acted as a great "host," suggesting the best way to get from the airport to the ferry (no problems there), and arranging for his wonderful property manager, Sabina, to pick us up at the dock. It took us awhile to get out of the airport due to a checked bagged fiasco, so we were a little worried about being over an hour late, but there Sabina was, faithfully awaiting our arrival - what a relief!
And even more when we saw the property, exactly as it appears in the pictures. A quite large and well-furnished condo located only 5 minutes by taxi from downtown Isla ("El Centro"), Lool Beh proved the perfect base for our nuptial adventures. We can't recommend it, Sabina, and Bill highly enough!
My boyfriend and I stayed here for a 9 days mid Oct, 2010. Right from the get go Bill was extremely helpful. He gave us some information on how to get to the ferry dock cheaper then the average $65 taxi fare ($9 per person instead), plus an email on all the things to do and see on the island.
Our arrival went very smoothly with the assistance of his property manager who picked us up once we arrived on the Island. When we got to the condo we were very impressed by how beautiful the condo was. Our favourite spot was the roof top patio where you could see both the west and east side of the island. We'd usually wake up and have our breakfast & coffee there each morning, plus have a snack and a beverage or 2 at night with the sunset.
There are a couple corner stores near by for essentials as well as a full grocery store. The grocery store is about a 10 minute walk away, easily done.
Taxis are VERY easy to find from the main road. For 2 passengers it was only 12 pesos (1US) 3 passengers or more was 20 pesos. We decided that paying for the taxi ride in and out of downtown was cheaper then renting a golf cart (approx $35/day - low season). Even if we made the trip twice in 1 day it's still only $4!!!
Our trip to Isla was mainly for diving. We had GREAT dives. We picked a dive site that was known for shark sitings and saw 5. It was definitely a high light. For those of you who are divers, the wrecks there are great as well. We experienced strong current for a lot of our dives, but it was well worth it for all the sea life we got to see. Turtles, baracuda, lion fish, etc
Back to the condo though, it was beautiful and modern. Very helpful to have the en-suite washer and dryer. We were lucky that the suite next to us was available as well, so our friends who joined us for a few days were able to stay next door.
We initially were only going to stay for 4 nights and change things ups when our friends arrived, however we liked the place so much that we stayed for the duration of our vacation (9 days total).
I was even more impressed when I got home and had a voicemail from Bill wanting to make sure we were ok and let us know that if we needed anything to let him know. Hurricane Paula was passing thought when we were there (he was not aware that we were not checking our home messages while on vacation). He made us feel like he was an old friend sharing his condo.
I would definitely recommend staying here if you're planning to go to Isla Mujere.
We stayed at lool beh last Dec & Jan. Bill was very easy to deal with and he seems like an old friend even though we've never met. His condo felt like home. We loved the whole complex with the pool and roof top patio. Our children and grandkids also rented a condo here and we celebrated christmas together in mexico for the first time. A 20 peso taxi ride takes you anywhere on the island but you can walk to the ocean on either side. You are right in the middle of a mexican community with lovely families for neighbors.
My husband & I stayed at the Lool Beh Condominios for 2 months - January and February 2010. Our 2nd month was spent in this particular unit. We loved our entire stay at this condo building but really liked the fact that Bill's unit (the unit being reviewed) had a small balcony overlooking the pool as well as the street. The condo is located roughly mid-island. It is a 5-minute (20 pesos) taxi ride to the restaurants, shops, & the famous Playa Norte (North Beach)-with the most beautiful sand & water you will ever find. You can walk out forever with the water only up to your thighs, waist, shoulders & still look down and see your feet; the water is that clear. But, back to the condo itself...on the roof of the building there are 4 lounge chairs & 2 separate palapa areas where you can lounge during the day & watch the gorgeous sunsets at night. Even though you have a washer/dryer in your unit, once we strung a clothes line on the roof we never used the dryer again during our entire stay. The is also a nice-sized bathroom on the roof, which is very convenient. There are electrical outlets as well, which came in handy for listening to my docked ipod.
The bedroom is very big, with a very pretty bathroom with shower AND bathtub (not always readily available in Mexico). The living, dining, kitchen area are one nice-sized room. My only "want-list" would be a microwave, a few more pans, & containers for left-overs (although we bought and left some of those things there). And perhaps a small T.V in the living area. These were probably only issues because of our extended stay & certainly not a deal breaker!!
Close by are many neighborhood markets & shops, & a lagoon with a wonderful walking path all the way around it (probably about a mile & 1/4 around the lagoon).
IF you are looking for a resort atmosphere 24/7, this part of the island is not for you as it is in the heart of one of the Colonias (neighborhoods) & you are living amongst the locals, complete with dogs, cats, & roosters. If you are interested in experiencing both worlds - amazing beaches, restaurants, shops AND the authentic Mexican culture & people - you've found the right place.
Again..back to the condo itself - the whole building is kept very clean by Jeraldo, a very shy but extremely likeable young man. Missy is a wonderful woman who lives in one of the units & is very accessible for help & ideas. Bottom line - we would return again & again - one of our best & relaxing experiences ever!
Other Activities: eating at so many great restaurants that are so very inexpensive...
